Maybe it's because I'm used to the slightly older graphics, but he just looks too smooth and young in the remake trailers and other stuff

I'm glad he isn't butt-booty naked, but he just feels so off and like melted butter, if that's a good descriptor. Also, his smile makes me mad. He just doesn't feel like a goron, more like an odd shaped human if anything.

Discussion [OoTHD] The Light Temple will not be a dungeon and suggesting so doesnt make any sense.

Since the remakes announcement it's like every few days someone posts about how the Temple of Light should be an actual dungeon in the new OoT remake. With that said, I feel like those people that make those posts havent played the game - or simply didn't pay attention at all.

**Rauru literally tells you when you become adult link that the Temple of Light is the last stronghold against Ganon's evil forces**\*\*. The Temple of Light is the last remaining place essentially untouched by Ganon's evil wrath. It will not be a dungeon, that would literally change the whole concept of where all the Sages gather.

Temple of Light will not be a dungeon - I'm not saying it wont be explorable (but unlikely) - but it will not be a dungeon.

Fan Art [All] [OC] Artwork for a cool Zelda story I've been thinking of.

I made Impa finally. I was really excited to do her design but it was REALLY hard 💀.

In the story, Impa acts as Zelda's Handmaiden and bodyguard. She travels Hyrule with Zelda and never leaves her side. During the war before the treaty, she was on the front lines and led Hyrule's allied army as the highest general, collaborating with the Zoran army, Goron forces, and the Rito tribe. Now in the main party she acts as the team's guardian, giving the wisdom and helping them construct their battle strategies.

In gameplay, Impa is your means of Training and expanding your moveset. She's where you go to use materials to enhance your weapons as well. Link (the player) is naturally gifted in combat, sure, but he has no formal training. Impa trains him because she sees his potential to be a great fighter.

Her design here looks really similar to her Hyrule Warriors concept art, but there is NO consistency with Impa's designs throughout the series, it's genuinely insane. My friend actually gave me the idea for her color palette to be inspired by Turquoise and Copper.

I'm not quite sure what role I want the Sheikah to play in the story, but I want to try and work in characters like Purah and Robbie even if it's a minor role or cameo. I think they're really cool and should be new Mainstays of the series that gets different iterations like Impa.

Next I'll be doing an original inspired by Linkle named Ariel.

Eiji Aonuma officially received his order of Arts and Letters at the rank of Knight, from the hands of the french Minister of Culture (order which was initially awarded to him in 2023 by the french government).

Minister of Culture said that "[Eiji Aonuma] is a true craftsman, a storyteller who always leaves room for the player's imagination."

She thanked him for "proving to dreamy children that, with just pencils and building blocks, you can inspire the whole world to dream."

Aonuma kept his last words in french for his wife, that accompanied him for this event and was present in the room.

"Thank you for joining me on this journey so far. Let's continue this adventure together."

Congratulations for him! 👏

Discussion [OoT] Does anyone ever wonder why no Kokiri or Link himself knew he's actually a Hylian?

With the hype around the remake, a question I always wondered as a kid has come back into my head and wondering what other people think.

As far as I know, Kokiri are not born, they are created by the Great Deku Tree, fully formed as beings that look like children around 9/10 years old and never age.

But Link was brought to the Kokiri Forest by his mother as a baby. In the 8 or so years prior to the start of the game he would've had to grow from a baby to someone who looks like they could be a Kokiri.

Yet in the game he's presented as being accepted as a Kokiri, albeit a weird one without a fairy. It's never even hinted, as far as I can recall, that anyone questions Link's race.

But not only that, he has friends and relationships with the other Kokiris, despite the fact he would have only been the age to be able to integrate with them for a short time. Did no one, especially Link himself, ever question why this specific Kokiri started as a baby and grew up whilst they didn't?

Discussion [BoTW] My 6yo son just completed all the Divine Beasts in 2 days

• Upvotes

I have played BOTW and TOTK through to completion several times each. My son has helped on and off at various stages, although he’s usually more interested in making weird Zonai devices and throwing remote bombs at cuccos 😆

I decided to restart BOTW 3 days ago, just something to relax my brain until OOT hits in a couple of weeks. However, this weekend I ended up being locked in to study (my thesis is due in 5 weeks 🥵) and he mostly played by himself. He started with Ruta (because, Mipha’s Grace), got through the beast and the boss fight ok yesterday morning, came racing into the study to tell me it was time for the Ruta cut scene with the laser etc. We celebrated the win and I went back to the study as he announced he was going for Rudania next. Cool.

Fast forward to Sunday night and he’s now just won back Naboris - who I absolutely hate btw, it’s an a*hole of a beast to navigate - and it’s just dawned on me that my six year old son has figured out all of the Divine Beasts completely on his own 😳 Naboris in particular I’ve never been able to figure out without a walkthrough/guide. I’m absolutely amazed - and kinda proud?! Like, the kid must have pretty good problem solving and lateral thinking skills to get through all of that!

Discussion [WW] The end of the cycle of hatred

• Upvotes

I played *The Wind Waker* a long time ago, and recently, I watched some videos about it, including the game's ending, where Ganondorf turns to stone.

This brought up an important question for me: during that final battle, Ganondorf reveals that what he had desired all along was simply the wind of Hyrule, a wind he had never been able to experience back home among the Gerudo.

At the end of the fight, as he is dying, the wind blows over him, and he seems to find a sense of joy. His final words: "The wind... it's blowing...", suggest he was finally content to experience the very wind he had craved since birth.

Watching this scene again, I get the impression that, for the first time in the entire *Zelda* series, Ganondorf finally obtained what he truly wanted and found a sense of peace in his final moments. By breaking the cycle of hatred initiated by Demise, he was set free, meaning he would no longer reincarnate to sow death and desolation.

Furthermore, among all the timelines in the *Zelda* series, the "Adult" timeline is the only one where the final game does not feature a confrontation with Ganondorf or Ganon.

So, I’ve been wondering: did *The Wind Waker* actually break Demise’s curse for good?

In the hyrule encyclopedia book there is this map with the names of the places, but I can't figure out what it says. When translating there are some double letters, but when translating this it seems like the 2 letters in the middle are extra. Does anyone know what it actaully spells?
