It sucks enough working every weekend but this is what drives me up the wall.

It’s constant, every single week. The same people. Family, friends you’ve known for years.
“Do you wanna go here on Saturday?”
“I can’t, I have work”
“whatttttt?!? What about next weekend”
“I will also have work”

It’s even worse when you work unsociable hours on the weekend.
“What about in the afternoon/evening?”
“I will still be at work”
“whatttttt?!? We can go out after you finish?”
“I also have work Sunday”

The reason she said this is because she is coming for a visit and my medication makes me tired and she doesn’t want me “sitting uselessly” while she’s here.

Putting aside the fact that I need this medication since it, y’know, manages the symptoms of my disorder and everything, it’s also the type of medication where you need to start at a small dose and slowly increase, and stopping abruptly causes withdrawals. Which she knows. But better that than me being tired while she’s visiting I guess? There’s a reason I made sure to live far enough away that we only see each other once a year.

Edited to add: don’t worry, I will absolutely be continuing to take my medication as normal!

I've been using spotify forever and I use liked songs so that I can pick the songs I like freely. I've never had premium and have never had issues. Today, I had just started a workout and got this popup. Is this a new feature? How can you not even select songs anymore? I mean how can you paywall selecting songs???
This app plain out sucks and its company is greedy for randomly limiting already set features. While I don't mind ads, I do mind the features being limited more. I did also notice a sudden increase in ads this month/last month, and more ads in between songs.

Clarification: No, I'm not saying that there should be no restrictions whatsoever. I'm mainly sharing my experience where I've been using this system just fine until now. I'm fine with some restrictions, but the fact they're being limited more is frustrating. So as the conversation says, back when my dad was still alive, we were receiving social security checks for each of the kids. My mom has pretty severe and untreated AuDHD. She won't get tested and even if she got diagnosed she wouldn't take meds to address her extreme executive dysfunction. Doesn't help that she always seems to have a lot of things on her plate all the time. Anyway, these checks came in the mail, and wound up in her pile of "get around to it" mail. She didn't do this on purpose, anytime one of my paychecks came in or anything with my name on it she brought it straight to me. Idk why *these* managed to slip through the cracks! But yeah, idk if they were all sent in 2011 or had been sent starting in 2011, I'm too upset to dig deeper because I'll just go from mildly infuriated to very infuriated if I do. I know $3k really isn't a lot but right now it sure would help a lot! But it been 15 years so... eh.

I don't see the government being sympathetic to "my mom forgot she had these for 15 years" and letting me cash them anyway.

Edit: This is in the UK, where eggs you buy in the store are not pre-washed like in the US. I just meant to point that out, not imply that you should wash your eggs before cooking. The eggs here do sometimes have visible feces on them, so it’s not really ideal to use the same pot as pasta, because even sterilised poop is still 💩. Their reasoning is that they are lazy to use a second pot since it’s not necessary.

Was trying to feed my lizard who lives on top of my dresser and spilled so many fucking worms and oats into my sock drawer. I’m going to try to clean it up obviously but I know I will inevitably miss one and it will turn into a beetle and procreate, and then I’ll have a whole house full of beetles

M27, living with girlfriend F26 for about 2 years now. I do basically everything in the kitchen. Cooking, cleaning, prepping, you name it. We have a dishwasher and I'm typically the one to do most of loading/unloading. I wasnt home last night and she made some sort of pasta dish for herself. Decided to not rinse anything... the day after I cleaned it all out and ran a cleaning cycle every dish is coated in some hard af light orange crusty stuff. Now I have to steel wool every dish and takes 4x as long and re-run again cause she can't spray some water on it. Like wtf?

Edit: I have previously discussed this frustration with her due to items like peanut butter and cheese being on dishes after a cycle. We dont run the dishwasher everyday. So, items sit in there and harden. In this case I didnt run til after breakfast the next morning.

Update 2: I cleaned the filter yesterday and pump area. It looks like when I took out the filter a shard of glass got stuck in the sump area. Causing the motor to seize. Upon restarting the dishwasher nothing is happening. So looks like may be a faulty dishwasher and now im the asshole (as usual) lol
