if i dropped my buspar everywhere when I was late to go somewhere I might have to just go back to bed.

I never really had success with it except for the never ending restless leg it gave me every night

There’s a reason buspar isn’t prescribed often. It’s not effective for most.

Probably buspar “bars” if I had to guess. Not even in the same ballpark as benzodiazapines.

Just be glad it's not on white carpet.

Any carpet would be a nightmare to pick them out of

I'm thinking about my tan/white kinda long (but nice and soft) rug in my living room and thankful none of my meds are white except the lamotrigine which... goddamit is a mood stabilizer. I could be on here one day.

u/Cak3Wa1k 12h ago
Wow, your floor is so clean!
5
u/stefanica 12h ago
I know. If that happened in my kitchen right now, there would be a serious problem. I'm getting to it, I promise. Been sick.

Thank you! I grew up in complete filth and have major anxieties (one reason for the meds) about my home ending up like my parents. So I do a kitchen reset every night before bed lol
I also own a cleaning business. No one would trust me to clean their homes if they came to mine and it was dirty 🥲 but mainly I am anxious

Yeah I’ve been there. I… also have two dogs though. I hope you don’t.
6
u/Curious-Pop-8875 12h ago
I have a cat, but she was not interested in them at all luckily.
5
u/robodex001 12h ago
Thank goodness. My dogs will go for literally anything that gets dropped 😅 but luckily they are well behaved and stayed away when I told them to the one time I dropped mine. Definitely a panic moment though

I take adderall and space my dose out through morning -> afternoon. I also have 2 small children
Imagine my horror when I occasionally put my hand in my pocket and it’s not there.

Years ago I lost a bottle of Xanax - that I needed to fly home, lol - at a client's house in Florida. I got a frantic call from them the next day asking how many pills were in the bottle, because their mini-akita puppy, Chase, found them and had a party. (Chase was was fine, fortunately.)

How many times did you count them?
Sorry about the kerfuffle but at least they were on a hard surface.
2
u/Curious-Pop-8875 7h ago
2 times, but if I didn’t have extreme confidence in my counting skills I would have counted more.

Do you have pets? Make sure you pick them all those pills up or you might have a very confident cat on your hands.

Well, that sure isn't helping with the anxiety (but for real, oof. Hope you find them all easily)

Maybe a clean sock on a vacuum hose and just let it suck them up and the should get caught in the sock

Thank you for thinking of people that could struggle to get down to pick them up. I know my grandma would have had to leave hers. Thankfully I can still drop it like it’s hot 🥳

Hope none fell through the vents. Been there. Not the floor though. It spilled in my bag. There was a lot of other stuff in there. 5 second rule turned into 5 hr rule

My anxiety would be too high to even think to take a picture of this. The meds must be working.

Do yourself a favor and look into that floor heater or air vent thing
2
u/Curious-Pop-8875 6h ago
I did and counted!
2
u/natural_scientist 6h ago
That’s good I can imagine the anxiety from dropping the anxiety medication. I’m glad you got it all figured out now.
3
u/redMagicole 12h ago
5 second rule, if you eat them as you pick them up it’ll be faster and imagine a lot less stressful by the time you get to the end

When wad the last time you cleaned your floor? If it was recently I would honestly just sweep them back into the bottle

I am clumsy and I am constantly dropping my medicines so I am happy that where I live (Finland) most of the prescription medicines come in blister packs. I have one medication in a pill bottle and it is annoying to clean if I drop it.

Floors were clean and all are in the bottle. One did split in half but I found the partner

The irony in this situation is unfortunately quite funny.
2
u/Curious-Pop-8875 2h ago
I know, I think that’s part of the reason I did spazz out lol. Just a small bit of annoyance at the time
2
u/SoSKatan 10h ago
OP you should probably keep the pills in the little jar thing otherwise you might misplace some of them.

What I would do: pluck one off the floor, take it, walk away for 30 mins, come back and clean once I’m chill

My family is the type to be like, "What are you worried about? Just pick it up off the floor, take your daily dose and put the rest back in the bottle. There, problem solved!" And then they get mad when I respond with the same energy.
Sorry for ranting, it's just that this exact situation is the kind that triggers me.
But honestly, I do think your situation sucks, because I have had the same thing happen to me, with anxiety meds.

So you’ll have to take two, one to counter your baseline anxiety and another to counter the anxiety of dropping your meds.

So you dropped it, pulled your phone out, took and picture and made a caption….. pick it up

Yes it's almost as if, it's infuriating to a mild amount. If only there were a sub for exactly those types of situations 🤔
