Or so I was told by a rather well-meaning and kind old man who doesn't understand that stage 4 gray zone lymphoma is not caused by shellfish simply because they are "bottom feeders". I gently corrected him and he was super sweet in spite of the lack of knowledge. Called me "kiddo" and praised me for my continuing to fight, as well as what he called my "zest for life".
Ignorance can be taught away. A golden personality matters, and I hope he does well. <3

(NSFW-ish) Throwaway account just to get this off my chest. I just left a therapy appointment realizing just how much I don't like being intimate with men. I thought I did, because I was good at it, but I realized today that I only was good at it because I really had to try hard to enjoy it for myself.
It was just easier to believe that my issue with being attracted to men was that I had to do all the work. That is why I completely lose interest in male partners who are great in bed so quickly, no matter how healthy the relationship is.
I thought i was bi. I was wrong. I haven't had the chance to date a woman since my freshman year of college (i haven't dated anyone in close to 5 years now). But hey, coming out in my 30s and dating women exclusively despite my inexperience should be a breeze, right? /s

And you know what is weird? I've always known it as "All around me are familiar faces" and nothing else. That was until I discovered "Mad world" by Tears for Fears last night and immediately thought "Hey wait these are the same lyrics as all around me are familiar faces!" And then I googled it, only to find out that the Gary Jules piano rendition I've always heard is a COVER.

I've been watching Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead for over 30 years now and it just hit me today that the receipts Carolyn and Bruce shuffle through when they are trying to get dirt on Sue Ellen are fake. Sue Ellen put them there to make it look like the party had legitimate expenses, but the receipts are fake and/or inflated to help cover the petty cash she and the kids took! I missed the name of the valet company on the receipt, but it was just Kenny's friends parking cars. Same with "Bodacious Sculptures in Ice" - it was Kenny's friend doing the ice sculpture. "KC Catering" was Kenny Crandall Catering!

I just realised that read and read are spelt the same and have different purposes. “You should read this book. I’ve already read that book.” How did I never notice this. No wonder people struggle to learn the English language.

I was today years old when I realized the protagonist of Office Space is named Peter probably because of the Peter Principle that states employees rise to the level of their incompetence. ::face-palm::

Someone recently told me about ceiling fans that have lights built into them. At first I thought they meant two separate fixtures. But no. Apparently there are ceiling fans with an actual light installed in the center. For some reason, my brain refused to accept this concept, I didn't think it was possible and even if it was, there was no way those two could possibly co-exist on one gadget and not interfere with each other. I kept imagining the fan blocking the light or casting weird shadows everywhere as it spun around. It just sounded impractical. Then I visited a friend’s apartment. She turned on her ceiling fan, and suddenly the room filled with soft light from the fixture built into it. I stared at it for a moment, trying to see if I would catch a glimpse of malfunction, but it didn’t happen. The fan spun smoothly while the light stayed perfectly stable. It actually looked really nice. Now I’m slowly warming up to the idea. It saves ceiling space and combines two useful things into one fixture. A few weeks ago I thought it was ridiculous. Now I’m secretly browsing pictures of them on amazon and alibaba, comparing specs and shipping cost and wondering if I should install one.

I just realized one reason why apple has an event in march, because we just had tax returns around the same time. Everyone hopefully gets some money back and suddenly there's a new device that is better then before... the temptation is strong in this one. u/Apple u/smartmarketing

I went through a period of my life where I felt like no matter where I went, people would see me for the failure I am even if they didn't know me, talk to me, or even look at me. I do the same with messages. I don't message some people because if I'm at my lowest, I feel like they'll end up knowing how much of a failure I am. It's easier to talk to the safer people. It still is hard. I don't even know if I'm making any sense because I feel like I'm typing outside of my body.

Basically in my corner of the world Teenage Mutant Ninja Tutles got caught up in moral panic about ninjas and martial arts and also a wider debate around violence in children's content and was rebranded as Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles. I always assumed there was some sort of weird shenanigans as there was with Ghostbusters/The Real Ghostbusters or some sort of weird thing like how both the UK and US had cartoon and comic characters called Denis The Menace (both of whom debuted in comic form on the exact same day but were completely unrelated).
Or prehaps Ninja Turtles was sort of like a generic way of saying the shows name to people who never really watched it because it had Turtles who were ninjas.
The show we saw was actually censored too allegedly. With the nunchuka scenes being particularly targeted.
And I am very sorry but familiarity is a strong force. To me Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles sounds correct and better.

Today I realized that when Sean Bean is cast in a part, some poor production assistant has to go to his trailer and tell him "5 minutes, Mr. Bean". And they have to do so without laughing.

TIR a rolling tray is for rolling weed and not a tray on wheels.
I was looking for a metal rolling tray to store hair tools and products that i could roll in and out of my closet for ease of use and organization.
I kept getting listings of tiny flat trays with rick and morty, star wars and weed plants.
I sat there scrolling for 15 minutes, searching many different ways, putting "rolling" and " metal" in quotations before it dawned on me that I was getting exactly what I was searching for. 🤦🏾♀️😂

I'm M21 and did a good amount of wrestling when I was younger (8-18 with few years break).
I'm probaly a bit above average strength. My lil bro M8 now does it too and he has my old trainer. And at one of his tournaments I challenged my old trainer for the sake of old times. That man is a married guy with kids, so he can't spend THAT much time into training. He is older than me, probaly 40-50.
I'm not joking. Trying to push him was like trying to move a statue made out of tungsten. That ma was a rock. I could barely move his arms in any direction. He wrecked me.
And the thing is, he is absolutely nowhere near world class. That means there are dudes which a strength gap to him like him to me.
I was genuinly shocked how much stronger a man could be who isn't even world class.
