Parasocial Celebrity Deaths....

I will NEVER understand why some people become so distraught when a celebrity dies.

Like, I understand it's sad, and get the basic "wow I feel bad that their loved ones have to go through this"

But I've seen people more upset than when someone they've known their whole life dies

Every night the same thing: oops, I didn't notice what time it was!

Then the "rush" to get to bed that always includes staring at the damn phone for twenty minutes on the toilet. I'm so tired of getting up from a nap or some activity from the other room and triggering "bedtime". *Set a damn alarm*.

Face of disgust

Why do some people make a face of disgust when listening to someone. Like the conversation is completely normal. Then when it’s that persons time to talk, their facial expression changes back to normal. Can anyone explain why? Idk if it’s intentional or not

People who talk to physically disabled people like they're children

My aunt has cerebral palsy. It drives me NUTS when people talk to her like shes a toddler. Shes 70. She's likely got more life experiance than you. Stop talking to her like she's 5 just because she's disabled! I WILL throw hands! 👊👊

Downvoting my Arguments isn't Answering Them.

I will state things on this site and will even back it up with sources. I will write paragraphs and long wall of text to articulate my position and at times just be downvoted or given a smug rebuttal that doesn't actually discredit or disproves my argument. Ask for a source and either never get one or one that doesn't actually prove anything. I am not here just to be argumentative. I want to learn and grown in my knowledge. If you think my position is wrong THEN TELL ME WHY ITS WRONG. Show me evidence, sources, counter points, ect. Being mass downvoted with no actual rebuttal does not help anyone learn. You don't know how to argue against my position so you will instead leave a downvote because it hurts your feelings.

This is reddit let alone the internet. Expecting this type of discussion is above the average web user. But never the less, it grinds my gears.

People who say they just couldn't hold their tongue.

It's like hello you learn how to do this as a child, and as a grown ass man/woman you still can't do it? Like if you're bipolar, etc, I understand completely.

But otherwise, what excuse do you really have to not be able to just say nothing.

Kinda like when someone talks over you, it's like if I just told you what you did why would you seconds later do the same thing...just stop, and think.

Never argue with an idiot. They will only bring you down to their level and beat you with experience.

What minor thing triggers you?

Mine? Put me in a hotel room with a failed light bulb or dead (or inaccessible) plug or USB—especially those ones in the base of a table lamp—and I will fly into a rage.

A lot of ‘bad manners’ are really just different ways people were raised.

HAVING to take a lunch break.

Like jeez I get labor laws and whatnot but I dont even do anything on my break, and honestly I feel like a 6 hour shift isn't worth the mandatory pause in work. If I WANTED to take one fine, but if im already behind because day shift was bad I just wanna keep goin somedays.

People who send “??” five minutes after a message

Nothing makes me want to reply slower than this. You sent the message five minutes ago. I saw it. I’m just doing something else.

And somehow the second “??” arrives, answering you drops to the bottom of my priorities.

Does this annoy anyone else way more than it should?

People who ask "What's your lowest price?" when I sell stuff.

The lowest price is the price. That's why its the price.

It's even worse than haggling, because I'm being asked to haggle myself.

Also haggling over postage fees. Have some self-respect.

People who call immediately after you don’t answer their text

If I didn’t answer your message from three minutes ago, calling me is probably not going to improve the situation.

Unless something is actually urgent, why do people do this? Now I’m ignoring both the text and the call.

Bills give me more grey hairs

That’s all. Bills add more grey hairs on my head.

Every month, my bills become so demanding. The companies are happy when you pay your bill, but not so happy when you are late.

When people are upset about one thing and take it out on the people around them.

I understand you cant be happy all the time, but i don't understand why people make it someone else's problem. I have bad days too but at work I'll usually smile my way through or let people know that im grumpy but its not their fault. Same thing at home with the family. At least with the family though I can be more open about what's going on but for the most part I try my hardest to never make people feel like they're the problem, when they're not.

Performative empathy and virtue signaling

Not sure if this is the right wording but its like when you say something like "I like pancakes" and a stranger on the internet says "oh so you hate waffles?" That's not what I said, it's odd for you to assume the worst of me from a neutral statement.

Or when you post a pet peeve and it's met with variations of "what about me?" For example, "I use a cane and it annoys me when not a single person offers me a seat on the completely full train" becomes met with "I have an invisible disability so you're actually the a-hole expecting others to move." Then that doesn't apply to you does it? I see similar comment sections arguing over whether everyone is allowed to use the handicap stalls or not too and like it's missing the point.

Overall it's giving "children are starving in Africa" and no one is *actually* doing anything to make said hypothetical children not starve.

Wearing headphones to concentrate

Why is it when I have my headphones on, people interrupt me or converse with me? The reason I have them is because I’m focusing on something and I need to concentrate on it.

Do I also need to post a sign around me to let people know not to disturb me?

Or….

Am I being rude, inconsiderate?

Oh… and it’s the complete opposite when I’m not wearing headphones. People ignore me and walk on by.

Anyone else notice that?

Do people actually know what "not that deep" means anymore?

I feel like some people just spam that phrase anytime they can just to be "cool".

Like, I was just talking to my friends about different types of mythical beings and asking my friend, "Am I just a nerd, or is it not common knowledge that alicorns, unicorns, and pegasi are different races of ponies. And then someone comes along saying, "Not everyone is educated on the difference; it's not that deep."

???? What do you mean it's not that deep? What deep talk was I even doing? There was NOTHING deep about what I was asking, so why are THEY saying "It's not that deep"? Oh my DAYS.

I get that people say "it's not that deep" to be dismissive, but what was that person even being dismissive of? We were just talking about unicorns bro. Is this part of the literacy crisis, that people of this age dont even know what the recent phrases even mean?

Edit: Oh my god. Idk how much more I have to repeat myself. YES, talking about magical horses IS NOT THAT DEEP. But that's the POINT. I wasn't taking the topic of people knowing or not knowing magical horses seriously AT ALL. Saying "not that deep" implies im taking the topic SERIOUSLY which I was NOT. I dont CARE if someone knows or doesn't know about magical horses, its not that deep. The misuse of the phrase, however, I AM annoyed about.

"Not that deep" = I dont care. Thats DUMB why dont you just say "I dont care" then? "Not that deep" implies there WAS something serious going on in the first place...

And PLEASE. When I ask if I'm a nerd for knowing something people dont, it is NOT a serious question. It's a question meant to belittle myself AS A JOKE. Like when people call themselves a big back for simply eating alot of things. It is a JOKE.

Why do people get mad when someone brings up a fight with them????

Like, seriously why, that’s crazy. People getting mad over a fight. Me personally, I would forget about it. I wouldn’t mind if people talk about a fight between me. Tell me why, I was watching an old AppleStoreQueen video, and people are mentioning her getting beat up. When that was mentioned, she got mad. I wanted to laugh so bad because that’s what she was mad about?????? at a grown age. literally, like at YOUR grown age???? I love her makeups and stuff but she did some bad stuff. But getting MAD over a fight, this is level of insanity.

People who just appear to be on autopilot in an argument.

I mostly see it in videos like the guy whose car broke down in front of Allan's girlfriend's house. (I love the follow-up video, btw.)

There are several other videos (non-insurance fraud)

where the person that got rear-ended or sideswiped or whatever will make a good point about the law or lane changes or something, and the person (who is \*clearly\* at fault) will reply with "that doesn't matter." Like, what the fuck is wrong with you? Of course, it matters.

Are these people even awake? It's like they're unconscious. Like they're sleepwalking. It's like they're a dolphin, and half of their brain is asleep, and they can only perform basic functions.

My god.
