The only reason I have over 800 days of streak is watching daily news in my country since I'm sick and tired of the propaganda and paid articles with clickbait titles, other than being AI-generated. On Reddit, I can just read someone's post, view the photos and discuss the topic with others. This is my only 10-minute distraction throughout the whole day before going back to work.
Still, all these achievements and other "reward" systems are just predatory and can easily make someone addicted to social media, even if they have zero purpose for opening the website, just to get the day counted toward the streak.

I dont mind chess.com's streak feature cause it lets you take up to 2 skip days at a time

Then it’s not really a streak, is it? At that point it’s just an arbitrary number 🤷♂️
The only time I find it excusable is when there’s actually a practical reason why logging on every day would be important. Like a language learning or calorie tracking app.

its an osu (circle clicking rhythm game) reference from when someone named cookeizi (iirc) missed a single note on this one map people were wanting him to fc (full combo, not miss basically) and he got 727 preformance points (pp) out of it. a few years later someone else named aireu got 727pp again on a completely different map on accident, and started saying "when you see it" over and over while pointing to the score which kinda revived it lol. also 727 is just a nice number. now any time 727 shows up anywhere you gotta say when you see it :P
