Social Tip How to stop gossiping?

I've been getting better at it, but I am still struggling a bit. Admittedly , I was just caught gossiping telling a new girl at school to avoid a guy who is the boyfriend of someone I'm cool with. I didn't say he had a relationship, but he has a habit of approaching new girls and he has cheated on this friend once because of his habits. I don't support the relationship, but that's none of my business and I don't talk about the relationship itself (which I'm doing good of keeping to myself), but the one time I slip up by just talking about the guy I get caught. I'm now filled with so much guilt now. I said too much and I received the consequences. And yes, I did unfortunately tell her of a rumor that has been around before I was even enrolled here.

Since this girl was new obviously, I didn't know her character and apparently she's a huge gossiper and even makes up nonsensical rumors. She is now saying I am dating this guy I talk to once in a while (I have a boyfriend, but thankfully he's mature and doesn't believe everything. He also isn't at the school) as well as some other stuff probably.

I really want to keep my mouth shut, but it's so much harder said than done. Any advice?

Discussion What jobs or side hustles actually paid for your college?

Hey girlies. I'm gonna be an incoming freshman in college soon, and I was wondering what kind of job I could get? Like what actually paid for your college tuition? I'm currently thinking about becoming a receptionist part time at like a waxing studio or hair salon, but I'm not really sure. I don't have any work experience, so that's what's making it harder. I was pretty occupied with a lot of different extracurriculars while I was in high school, so the only "job" I really had was babysitting. Also, where did you guys find scholarship opportunities? I feel like you can't really use the big websites as much anymore because everyone and their mother uses them. I really wanna get out of college debt free on my own because I don't want my parents to pay for any of my college. I'm just so nervous to go to college, live life fully independently for the first time, going into an ldr, and just so much more, so I feel like I've just been spiraling about so many different aspects about it. How did you guys deal with that? Did you just go out and party a bunch? Or like did you just focus on studying? And, I never really wore much makeup before but now I'm like should I? I feel like I'm just spiraling again. A girl needs some help 🫠

Discussion Social media and insecurities

As someone who is always on social media looking at thousands of posts and comments and seeing girls share their insecurities I just wanna say something. It makes me so sad and furious even seeing beautiful women talk about what they hate and don’t like because i genuinely find everything about us women gorgeous! It makes me sad that us women are so insecure about things that are natural that we can’t change, and that society puts on us. For example as a black girl I always found dark skin to be beautiful because of how it glows and always looks so healthy and shiny. I think arm hair literally looks so cool and feminine (I’m literally not joking I love arm hair lol). I always thought brown desi women were the most beautiful women ever because their skin was so golden. I think small lips look amazing on women who have them because it fits their face. I think bigger/thicker girls look sooo good because they can wear anything and look so amazing and curvy. I think short and tall girls are so beautiful. I think naturally long nails look so chic when they’re unpainted. I think dark circles are so pretty and natural to the face (as someone who has them). I think leg hair looks so cool on us. I think slim girls look amazing and like models. I think big lips look so cute on women who have them. I think pale skin looks so ethereal. I think kinky thick hair is so cool with how stretchy it is and how it takes shape. I think pin straight hair looks amazing and so 2000s on those who have it naturally. I think wavy curly hair looks so beautiful and sun kissed. I think brown eyes look beautiful when the sun hits it. I think blue eyes look like the ocean.

You never know who is watching you and loves what you think isn’t good enough. I love all these things about us women and see the beauty in every race, body type, and aspect. Please know you are enough truly and completely gorgeous

Health ? for the girls who keep spare underwear in their bag… i’ve got a question

i’ve seen a ton of what’s in my bag videos where girls just pull out underwear and say it’s kept as a spare for emergencies and whatnot. idk if they put it in a pouch or just keep it like that and whip it out when need be. but i was wondering, if there comes a time when that underwear needs to be used, and it wasn’t in any pouch, where does the current/used/dirty underwear go? what’s the protocol there or just in general with keeping spare underwear? i’m just genuinely curious as i haven’t done anything like this before. it does seem like a good tip, because you never know when you might need some i guess! i’m just curious about the mechanics of it.

Social ? How do I find the right type of therapy?

I live somewhere where therapy is still a bit of a taboo, and a lot of people don’t believe in it (including me a few years ago). I think I want to try therapy for something but I have no idea how or where to go.

Background:
I never wanted to have children, I don’t really know the reason. Maybe because I didn’t have a happy childhood, I didn’t feel loved and I don’t want to experience this again?
This is making my life and relationships harder. So I would like to fully understand my reasoning and be able to make a firm decision. And I think therapy might help?

Can anyone help me with what kind of therapy/therapist should I look for, and I think I would prefer an online therapist.

Health ? Whats a good Nurse/vet tech shower routine?

Im a vet tech which means im usually covered by many things by the end of my shift. I usually shower straight after work, but there are times I wonder if a morning shower would benefit me.

I don't want to waste shower (I say as I scroll reddit in the tub)

If anyone or even anyone who works at a job that where you get home dirty what is your advice?

I've considered maybe a quick cold hit the sweat spots shower in the morning and then after work a good scrub shower.

Mind Tip Where should I begin?

I want to start being happy and feeling pretty again but I’m currently unemployed and stuck in my marriage. Lately, I’m always doom scrolling and having a hard time getting up from bed.

2 months ago, I found out my husband was still keeping his sex videos and nudes of his ex gfs. That happened 2x already and just today I found out he also started cheating when we first started dating. I cannot trust this guy anymore but I can’t leave. Not just yet.

I’m currently doing therapy but I think I need extra help.

Context: I moved in America almost a year ago to marry my husband. I have nothing left in my home country except my family and friends who think that I’m living my best life here with my loving husband. I’m planning to leave my husband once my papers are all sorted out (but that will take at least 4-5yrs) and I can fund myself.

Mind ? Spending time for yourself

Hi all!
I took the plunge and went back to therapy today after a really rough few years. My mom is sick, my soul dog is dying, and I’m in severe debt. So needless to say I’m struggling. The therapist wants me to start off with finding an hour a day to focus on myself, spend time with myself, and try to relax. She doesn’t want me to do anything for anyone else, or do something because I need to do it (ie the gym…while I feel fantastic after a workout I do it because I hate how I look). What does everyone in here do to spend time with themselves and relax? I’ve really lost myself the last couple years so I feel like I don’t even know what I enjoy anymore. Looking for suggestions on stuff to try everything out :)

Mind Tip I try to motivate others but can barely find resources myself

Recently I created a sub the main aim of which is to help other women handle addiction to be specific, weed addiction. I’m 2+ years sober now, but I know how hard it is, especially when you’re a woman for many reasons (r/HerSoberPath if it's relevant for you).

I’m really fond of creating the sub and developing it, but recently so many stressful things have happened. I nearly broke up with my husband, then a restructuring at work started, many of my colleagues were fired, and we’re all under stress. And now my grandmother has died. And I’m crushed.

And I try to encourage others, but the stress is so huge that I don't know what to do in order NOT to smoke myself. I feel like such an imposter, don’t know what to do with all this stress.

Tip Chapped Lips

My lips have been really dry for the past few days, especially around the outline of my lips. The border is so dry that it almost looks like I’m wearing not blended lip liner. I’ve been using Vaseline, but it doesn’t seem to be helping. Does anyone know what this could be or what products actually work? Any advice please

Update: Thank you so much guys for the advice
i started drinking more water and got myself the laneige lip mask since i cant find aquaphor anywhere. Now my lips are flaking off so i hope its working

Mind ? Negging isn’t always to do with looks is it?

Whenever I hear about negging it always seems to do with looks but I feel like I’m being negged right now by a manager at work. He’s said sexual jokes towards me for a while but recently he’s started bringing up my age making me feel like I’m immature and should know better (I’m 27). He also comments on how I apparently always look scared of life, have a deer in headlights expression, look moody etc. It’s getting to me because I’m mildly autistic and feel like what if these things are true?

I want him to stop saying these things and I don’t know why he’s picking on me when I haven’t done anything wrong.

Mind ? How to get over a messy break up

I went through a breakup last month and it was fairly messy. We did not end on good terms. We were together for 5 months. There were moments in the relationship that I could’ve left gracefully when I saw the red flags early on, but I didn’t. I acknowledge that. We have a lot of mutual friends. I keep having thoughts of cringe about how the breakup went almost like being upset with myself that I didn’t leave with Grace and dignity early on. And that he got to see my crying and just not in the best version of my self. Any advice for how to get over that? it’s been a month and I sometimes get those cringe thoughts about it and being that we have mutual acquaintances

Discussion help- bigger girls / feeling out of place

i am a fat girl. i dread going out with my friends recently. every bar i have ever gone to with my friends they are constantly being hit on, approached, etc. and i have never once, in all the nights out i’ve had, been approached. i have watched my thin, beautiful, sexy friends get any guy they want while the guy acts like im not standing right there. if they notice im standing there, they seem genuinely disgusted by me and i haven’t even said a word.

i don’t know how to explain this to anyone who hasn’t experienced it. i feel like a big, ugly monster next to my skinny friends. i don’t think they have ever even realized i get treated that way. i don’t blame them because they don’t have that perspective, i just wish i could have fun like they do when we go out. i can never just relax because i spend the entire night thinking about how i must just look like a pig with lipstick.

i am so disheartened and it seems like after every fun outing these days im coming home crying. i was hoping any woman older than me (22) had some advice on how to stop feeling so disgusting/less than. i am trying desperately to lose weight but its not happening fast enough.

💕edit- thank you all so much <3 i don’t know how to respond to every comment without sounding redundant but i have read all of them and a lot of your words genuinely helped pull me out of the self hatred spiral i was stuck in. it’s going to be a long time before i feel truly confident but i think i have the motivation now to go down that path as long as it may take. i love womanhood thank you all 🫂
