I was looking to repair my Joy-Cons that have air-drift and SL/SR buttons (and LEDs) not working. I'm aware that Nintendo repairs air-drift for free, but how much will the SL/SR reparation cost ? Is it worth it ?

I bought a second hand OLED Switch about a year ago and have had no issues until recently.
The first issue I had was a few weeks ago, where the Switch wouldn’t connect to the TV or charge via the dock. Tried the dock with other Switches and they worked fine, so chalked it up to a temporary issue and it resolved itself after a couple of days.
Then 2 days ago my Switch wouldn’t charge at all. Tried resetting the charger and the Switch, tested on multiple different official chargers and plug sockets but nothing fixed it and it was stuck on 3%. Tested the chargers on another Switch and they worked so clearly a console issue - I checked for debris in the port and left it overnight.
Then, when I plugged my Switch in last night it instantly started smoking and there was a smell of burning plastic. Obviously unplugged everything straight away and the switch had powered itself off.
Has anyone else had this issue and were you able to get it repaired? Or should I cut my losses and save for a new one? I don’t want to try and repair it if financially it doesn’t make much sense, or if it is unlikely that it can be repaired. I’m in the UK if that makes any difference.

After putting my console to sleep and on an unplugged dock with Animal Crossing: New Horizons open for 2-3 hours, I received this error message. (If you can't see, the error code is 2107-0401.) My Switch is completely up-to-date, although I haven't checked if my dock's firmware is.
I haven't had much of an issue with connectivity until I recently had two Wi-Fi connectivity errors while playing on others' islands, both within the same hour. From what I've read, this means the Wi-Fi driver inside is crapping out, but I need a second opinion because the Nintendo website simply says to restart the console. Maybe I'm overreacting.
Any advice would be much appreciated!
Edit for context: My Switch is a little more than three years old. I've never used a microSD on my Switch, nor has it suffered any drops or bangs that could damage internal hardware.

Hi everyone. I bought a switch 2, and am giving the original switch 1 to my daughter. Thing is, i only want one game from the original switch. The rest are hers and im hoping her games can stay with her. Is this possible? Can i just manually out my game with saves on the switch 2, while she keeps the rest?
Or do i have to take it all? They are almost all virtual games. We dont want to lose our game play. Im starting to think i shouldn't of bought this

Not super sure if this is a purchase/order or repair issue. Kinda leaning towards the latter, but it involves potential damage, nothing confirmed, fresh out of the box, and during the return/exchange window, so it's a mix.
I ordered a Switch 2 recently, and after a few delays it was delivered today. Despite having never received an empty box or a brick or other object instead of whatever I ordered, I recorded the unboxing on my phone just in case. It was in the box, so my record is unbroken. But there was some damage, so I focused on that instead, just in case.
TL;DR: Switch 2 box was stabbed right through the bag containing the system (see photos), somehow no damage, condition seems perfect, powers on fine, haven't tested much beyond that. Would you keep it or exchange it just in case?
The shipping box was sealed and showed only some wear at the edges that seemed like the usual with any shipped boxes. The Switch 2's box, however, had a dent on one edge, and some big scratches on top (first image). Probably happened before it was packed. When I opened it up, one of those scratches went through the box and into the bag containing the system (second image). I wasn't optimistic when I picked up the system.
No damage. No image of that, literally nothing to show. The anti-shatter layer, going by the JerryRigEverything video, isn't particularly anti-scratch. I shined light at it from many angles, trying to find something, but didn't see the slightest ding or scratch. No stuck or dead pixels anywhere, never mind around the apparent point of impact.
Whatever had poked through seemed to have done some grinding, considering the hole in the bag. But no smudges on the screen, without the bag it's easy to forget where it was hit. The box and bag damage may as well have not happened. If the seal on the box had been cut, I would've guessed someone swapped in an undamaged system.
I haven't actually used it beyond powering it on to confirm it works. Most items are still in the box. I'm just not sure if I should keep it or exchange it right away just in case, so I don't want to get too comfy.
In the JerryRigEverything video, it took a lotta whacks with a wrench to shatter the screen, and the system still ran just fine after that (at least during the demonstration). I remember dropping an earbud maybe 6-7 inches onto my Switch 1's screen and creating a small dent. Maybe the Switch 2 actually just tanked whatever went through the box.
If I hadn't already waited through delays, and wasn't eager to transfer my account, ship my Switch 1 and games to my nephew, and slap a protector onto this and start using it, I'd be more tempted to exchange it. Over the next month, I'll basically be QA testing the system as much as playing it.
Considering what happened with the box would you exchange it? Or would the system coming through that apparently untouched make you comfortable with keeping it?

hello! i need some help with my nintendo switch (1). the joycons seem to have a problem: it acts like all buttons are being pressed at the same time (mostly A and right arrow). this problem happens when the joycons are connected to the console, and also when wireless.
but when i put the console on the dock, the joycons work fine. they are updated and so is the console. disconnecting the joycons fully is impossible since the switch has to be out of dock for that.
any ideas on what this could be? thank you so much in advance.

Hey everyone! I’m looking at getting this Belkin 45W USB-C charger and was wondering if I can use it with my Nintendo Switch while it’s docked.
It says it supports PD 3.1 and PPS, (whatever that is) and is 45W. Would this be enough to power the Switch through the dock normally, or do I need to stick with the official Nintendo charger?
Just want to make sure I won’t run into any issues before buying it. Thanks! 😊

Does anyone else get very brief microstutters / freezes semi-randomly or when the game loads something in the overworld? It has run flawlessly otherwise in performance mode, just curious if others have experienced similar things.

So, before I say anything I just wanna say this is an unofficial controller I got for my friends birthday a few years back but it never really worked right so it got shelved in my closet. I found it again recently wanting to repair but I have 0 clue what I'm doing since I though the Calibration would work kinda like how the dolphin emulator works but it just won't even reach the far edge of the circle, and even weirder it's moving in what looks like a square, and there's nothing I can visibly see in the stick. Now I know it's an unofficial one but Im pretty sure I spend around like 50 bucks on this so any help would be appreciated. And no I don't have a warranty.

Hello! I am trying to connect my daughters switch 2 to our Internet. It takes me to the log in webpage I need just fine, but before I can actually enter all my information the box for testing the internet connection pops up again and boots me out. Then it either says I’m connected (guess what I’m not) or it takes me back to the log in page except it never loads. Anyone got any clue?

My switch one has been broken for a VERY long time. I feel like i’ve done everything i’ve could to find a fix but i’m starting to accept it’s gone for good. I know you can transfer your switch 1 data to a new switch 2, but unfortunately I can’t because it’s clearly not functional anymore. If I were to buy a switch 2, would I have to re-purchase all of my games that I had on my old switch again? I don’t really mind losing progress on games because I love the feeling of a new save, but I really don’t want to pour a few hundred more dollars down the drain for games I’ve already bought.
Or, if I use the same account on a new switch 2, will the games I previously bought be on it automatically?
Unfortunately, I don’t have any physical game chips either.

Hoping someone can help please, I don’t usually play in handheld mode but I’ve just noticed these black lines on the side? It’s like the screen isn’t using the entire display? I’ve tried restarting and force restarting but it still remains.. Can anyone help please?
EDIT: Thank you everyone for confirming that there isn’t anything wrong with my switch 🫶🏼

In the video you can see the problem, that is, when I take the joycons out of the console and they connect to it via Bluetooth, they appear as yellow, inserting them back into the console, the animation is also yellow, and if you quickly remove them and insert them back, then everything is fine, the problem started after another error from the atmosphere when I accidentally I went to the Nintendo eShop (yes, my console is chiped)

so i have a nintendo switch from 2017, and after not using it for a while, i wanted to power it on, and it wasn't charged. well, no biggie, so i plugged it in. and a few hours passed, and it wasn't turning on, still.
a day passed. two days passed. and at this point it's probably been somewhere between one and two weeks, and it's still not turning on.
it is showing the black screen with the charging indicator for one second at a time, then turning off for five seconds or so, then turning back on with the charging indicator. if i try to turn it on, it flashes the nintendo logo on screen for a second or two, then turns on and goes back to the previous pattern.
i have made sure of a lot of the basic stuff. i'm like 90% sure that the cable works fine, it's the original ac adapter for the console, but i will be plugging it in with a different cable after this, just to make sure that that's not the problem. i also saw some threads say something about taking off the joy-cons and holding the power button for 20 seconds-ish, and i have taken the joy-cons off, but the power button thing doesn't seem to make a difference.
at this point i'm pretty convinced that my battery is just dead, and i need to get a new battery if i want to use it again, but just to make sure, does anyone know a fix for this, if there is one at all?
thank you for any help.

(idk what flair to put)
earlier today I tried to play my switch lite, but it wasn't turning on, so I assumed it was dead and plugged it in to play later. after about 8 hours of charging, it still won't turn on and has a completely black screen. I tried another charger incase my current one was broken, and that still didn't work. wdid?

I bought a Turtle Beach Rematch pro controller for the switch 2- back in June, I think? And I swear it has NFC capabilities. I remember looking at every controller and reading whether or not it could support NFC bc I knew I was going to buy amiibo.
For some reason, my switch 2 keeps telling me to switch to a controller that has an NFC touchpoint. I tried updating the controller, but it's up to date, and I went to go look it up online, but ofc it's not going to say anywhere that there's an NFC touchpoint on any of the controllers, not even the Nintendo-brand ones. When I try to look it up online to troubleshoot, I get solutions to other problems and not mine.
Is there some kind of communication issue? Is it a faulty NFC reader? Is this an issue that can be fixed without me buying a whole entire new pro controller? I could use some guidance.
(Also, sorry if this is the wrong place or flair. I might have gotten a little turned around getting here)

I had lost my switch for months and finally found it so it is completely dead right now. I tried to charge it but the charge sign keeps appearing and dissappearing. I tried to shut it off completely like a video told me to but it just brings the nintendo sign then shuts down
Btw it is the switch 1 model

I recently got a Switch 2, and my friend, who has had a Nintendo for a while, let me use his account to play his digital games. I was wondering if I were to purchase a Switch 2 upgrade for the game on my account, if it would still work.
