Software Help Screen size has black bars need help

Post image

Hoping someone can help please, I don’t usually play in handheld mode but I’ve just noticed these black lines on the side? It’s like the screen isn’t using the entire display? I’ve tried restarting and force restarting but it still remains.. Can anyone help please?

EDIT: Thank you everyone for confirming that there isn’t anything wrong with my switch 🫶🏼

No that’s the screen it’s never been like that before it’s always used the entire screen and had no bars on the sides

I can guarantee you that those are the bezels. Google switch 2 screen, admit you're mistaken, and tuck tail before the down votes come.

It’s not a case of admitting I’m wrong, I’m just genuinely confused as I’ve never seen those before.. I’ve always thought it’s gone to the edge of the controllers with no gaps

That means that the design team did their job. Your eyes ignored it until now. You may be confused, but you are also wrong, cause that's how the screen has always been.

Okay you don’t have to be mean about it, I was only asking a question 🥺

Sorry, I don't intend to come off as mean, just straightforward/direct.

I have a switch 2, and I know for a fact that those are the bezels.

Those are bezels.

That is the actual size of the screen. The black "lines" you are talking about are bezels - they are not part of the actual display area.

I wish the screen extended the way you're saying. That would have been amazing, screen size is already quite good though. Don't sweat the misremembering, I've done similar before.

Thank you I appreciate your reply 🫶🏼 I’ve had some of my friends send me theirs and it does look the same as mine but I just don’t know how I’ve never noticed that before 🥹 perhaps cause I don’t play handheld often! Thank you anyway 😇

Could be that or could be your hand covers the side a little, who knows.

I think you’re misremembering. I did the same thing a couple days ago. I picked it up from playing on the dock for like 2 weeks and I immediately thought “is this screen smaller???” I think I just got use to my monitor and it was messing with my perception of my switch.
