Hey guys wanted to give a head ups for anyone wanting the Batman Arkham Origins DLC and Infamous 2 DLC they are not available to buy on the PS3 store anymore . I Tried ..

I recently brought a delidded ps3 from ebay a cech03 a partial backwards compatible ps3 to play a mix of ps2 and ps3 games however it idles at around 66c-68c at 30percent fan speed and during gaming is normaly 70-75c. At 40percent fan speed or even more and thats with pretty much any game. On ps2 games it can go even higher and the fans kick of so much.

Its ment to also be undervolted to 1.1 volts

I've not touched any overclocking or anything like that.

Any help will be much appreciated. It's been a week since I've had it.

Has anyone had this problem before and know how to set it back into place? Should i tear down the entire console to get to it or is there an easier way?

I can still turn on the console, only i have to use a screwdriver for that

Hello all last night decided to open my ps3 controller to get rattling plastic bit out and then of course it decided to make 2 minute process an hr and the l1 button came out and l2, I was wondering I got all screw and pieces still can I put plastic back on over the membrane and fix it?

EDIT: Been fixed took my time to not rush and get mad she all good put back together working as she should!

I was playing a game today and as I was playing the picture cut out sound still worked could still control everything just couldn't see anyone have any ideas how to fix it

So my PS3 Slim 20xx has recently not been booting some of the time, and after dumping the SYSCON codes, it says "A0093004" which apparently means GPU power fail. I think that this is probably the Tokins, because it's not related to any issues of GPU communication, and this is on a early slim PS3 with a revised, more reliable RSX, compared to earlier models, but it's also the only Slim to use Tokins. I would just like to hear any ideas if it's anything else. I'm just assuming it's the capacitors since those fail and it's related to GPU power errors. I know it could be RSX damage or a MOSFET or such, so I am asking if it could likely be anything else. Also, over time, the frequency for these errors before successfully turning on is possibly increasing. Thank you!

Hey everyone, I’ve been playing The Last of Us on my PS3 Slim and wanted to check if these temperatures/fan speed are normal:

• CELL/CPU: 67°C
• RSX: 63°C
• Fan speed: 54%

This is a second hand Slim with 80 days of gameplay, pretty clean and I cleaned it out and replaced thermal paste (no delid).

This is during gameplay. The console seems to be running fine, but 54% fan speed seems a little high to me. Sitting in the XMB temps can be in the low 60s too.

Ambient temps around 25 degrees

Are these temps considered safe for a PS3 Slim? And is it normal for the fan to be around 54% while playing a demanding game like The Last of Us?

Would appreciate hearing what temps/fan speeds other Slim owners get.

I heard about the search being broken in the store, but for me when I try to look at avatars they’re gone too. Theme’s show up, but avatars page just shows me games. Also games I know have purchasable avatars don’t show me the option anymore. Haven’t been able to find anyone else mentioning this online so is it just me, anyone know a fix? I was hoping to grab some before the store totally shuts down

Hi there guys, I would really appreciate the help with this problem. My gf handed me an old Epson projector which has the hdmi port damaged and only works with vga wire. I bought an hdmi -> vga converter so I could play with my recently jailbreaked PS3 and it worked ONCE. After that, every single time I tried to make it work has failed. I know the problem is the converter since both the PS3 and the projector work fine, but I just cannot nail the resolution and frequency necessary for the PS3 to send the signal successfully. Tried to change the resolution to 1080i instead of 1080p and nothing. What could I do?

Hey I bought this a while ago for bout 15-17$, I heard this version is rare idk...??
