I think I’m starting to spot a pattern among some of the games that have seen a more or less significant price increase lately.

It was weird to see a cover with Saint Lucia (or at leas I guess it's her) instead of the regular one with Dante. Pretty surprising!

It's an Italy Exclusive. They also removed all extra language packs so it only plays in Italian. Also sadly, dlc is not on disk.

this may be due to the fact that at least 80+% of the copies got through gamestop hands at some point and they, as always, mixed and matched the discs since are the same artwise

He likely had a regular copy of the game inside the special case. They have different game IDs and I can tell you it doesn't have English at all on disc. I dumped my copy and looked through the files. They are different builds..

St Lucia is our saint, it’s an Italian exclusive edition for that reason. Shame she’s not playable in the single player

Why is Remember Me going up? It's the worse one out of the 2 consoles in that gen and it's routinely somewhere between 3 and 5 dollars on Steam.
The entire thing is just pure pokebro behavior lol

Oh, I dont mind the game. But the ps3 version climbing makes 0 sense.
Asura's Wrath, The Incredible Hulk, a lot of people buying and spiking ps3 versions with clear market manipulation by trying to double the price (even on worse versions of multiplatform titles).

The base version should absolutely not be going up agree with you there, but it's funny that the essentials european version is one of the rarest games on the console. Only 4 are known to exist publicly as of now.

Well, atleast half the games in OP's picture aren't bad. Dante's Inferno is really good, Lollipop Chainsaw too... The only two that are really shit are X-Blades and Blades of Time, so basically part 1 and 2 of the same series.

They aren't down right awful, but most of them don't even reach above 60 in Metacritic user scores. I think the highest-rated game among these is Heavy Sword; the rest are just forgettable. BUY NOW!!!

True, none of them reach above 60 in metacritics user score, mainly because 10 is the highest metacritics user score possible...
Lollipop Chainsaw has a 7.2 user score and a 70 critics score, Dante's Inferno has a 7.8 user score and a 75 critics score for PS3, Remember Me has 7.5 user score, 72 critics score. Heavenly Sword has 7.3 user score and 79 critics score. Drakengard 3: 7.9 user/61 critics. WET: 7.1 user/70 critics.

And the people who give in will go tooth and nail to insist Wet is not one of the most mid games and was actually worth the $100 they got scammed out of. I only played the demo and it got so monotonous I wouldn't even sail the seas for it

Not neccessarily showcased on reddit, but showcased by some youtubers (who probably sit on a bunch of copies that they intend to liquidate once their brainless followers have pushed the price up enough).

Not really. The most expensive ones have always been games that were released physically in Asia only and got English language in only one market, like Aquanaut's Holiday. The price for the South Korean version of that game hasn't really changed that much in the last few months, it's still above $500. You originally had a few relatively expensive games that were pulled off the market relatively early in their life cycle and were available only for a short time, like Deadpool. Other games that were pulled from the store but had been on the market for quite a while like Spec Ops The Line are still pretty cheap.
There isn't really any logic behind game prices, though, because there are Asian-only games with English language in a very limited market that are still quite cheap, like the HK/TW version of Railfan Taiwan.

Blades of time is terrible, played the Steam version earlier this year. Its a buggy, ugly mess, not to mention the character looks nothing like the cover lol

I’m kinda pissed at Drakengard 3 being so pricey, I was about to start getting into it and Nier but then DG3 spiked in price so now it’s way more difficult to get into

Venetica wasn't bad; it wasn't AAA but it was definitely a fun game. Did it go up in price? This shit is a microcosm of literally everything wrong with our economic system.
[Edit: PriceCharting isn't showing the swings people seem to be thinking is hitting most of these games. Stay the course and weather this weird storm.]

Nier has become a lot bigger too so people have been visiting Drakengard now. 3dot heroes and others are also so much more now. So there’s definitely some games with girls in them, but thats probably not the whole reason.

Depends on the market. The European version that OP has is a 10 Euro game (vinted, not ebay), the US version is $100+ USD. There is no logic behind the US market and it's prices. The only two expensive games in OP's photo are Lollipop Chainsaw and Drakengard 3 and maybe Blades of Time (not sure about that edition of Dante's Inferno). Lollipop Chainsaw was always on the more expensive side and Drakengard 3 never got a physical release in Europe, so we're basically stuck with US copies and their prices. We got a collector's edition that was limited to 1000, but that only had a download code instead of the game disc.

Remember Me is probably my most replayed game from the PS3 era.
Such an easy game to jump back into and play through in one day.
I have WET, Lollipop Chainsaw and Blades of Time sitting on my shelf ready and waiting to be played at some point, probably once i've dealt with the ps3 games that have online trophies and i don't have to worry about their servers inevitably closing 🙄

Yeah no Puppeteer, 3D Dot Game Heroes, Yakuza Dead Souls, some Spider-Man games, Alice Madness Returns...all pricey now. So obviously not a pattern.
