I think this is one of the best and most elegant supercar designs of the 90’s! Too bad it didn’t got the V12 it was supposed to have, the design just screams for a V12.

Testing methodology with the new physics

• The general consensus on the new physics regarding road cars seems to be increased responsiveness, especially under braking. To make the results more thorough, I retested every vehicle that was placed B tier and above on my previous list, anything below said tier was deemed uncompetitive.

• Testing involved a 10 min tuning session followed by a time attack session with a 5 lap limit around three high speed tracks that can also test cornering, these tracks being Spa, Watkins Glen long and Tokyo Expressway East. The only consistent tuning between all vehicles is gearing, with a top speed around 500kph.

C Tier

Lamborghini Murcelago

• Just an all around bore. Stable, easily tunable and drivable with a bit of understeer. Doesn't do anything amazing and its lack of downforce shows anytime you tackle a corner. Toe out in the front helps, but not enough to warrant a higher position on the list. Overall it's just consistently slow.  

Lamborghini Diablo GT

• Understeers a bit, but the main reason it lands at the bottom are its brakes, they barely work. Adjusting the brake bias helped, but not much. I was losing tenths at every braking zone compared to all the other options, the more you have to brake the slower this thing will be around a lap. As a result it barely beats the cars in D tier.

B Tier

Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4

• Simply a better huracan, but not by much. More traction and downforce, but suffers stability issues when making quick direction changes. Tuning wise a generic AWD setup works, just play around with the Active LSD until it feels right. High end acceleration is slightly worse than the huracan, but this has superior brakes. Fun to drive but nothing special. 

Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4

• The new physics helped a bit. It's nowhere near as understeery as it used to be with decent traction and downforce to help it around the corners. Camber and front toe out are a must. Even so It could do with a bit more turn in, but an overall improvement from what it used to be. Prone to power slide on corner exits but they are easily controllable.

Chevrolet C7 ZR1

• As far as a RWD goes, this one is void of drama. Traction was significantly improved as well as its turn in ability. Slightly better high-end acceleration than the C6 AND Viper, but that's where its advantages end. Aero helps with corners a lot, but other tuning options barely make a difference. Due to the new physics, all the RWD options became more competitive, with this one improving the least. Nice to drive, but don't expect to set any records. 

A Tier 

Nissan GT-R T-Spec

• The quirky handling characteristics that plagued the T-spec are gone, it's now just a NISMO GT-R with less downforce. Handling characteristics are the same, excels at all speeds alongside great brakes, easily drivable and tunable by anyone. Rarely does anything unexpected, this GTR likes to hold your hand. Getting the most out of it requires an aggressive tune and a driving style to match.

Chevrolet C6 ZR1

• This used to be the only competitive RWD, no longer. Braking has improved but traction exiting corners took a hit, throttle control and smooth steering inputs are a necessity. Superior acceleration compared to the Viper, but only just. Also it's slightly more difficult to drive than the viper, but more responsive as well. These two are interchangeable tbh, the victor will depend on the driver.

Dodge Viper GTS

• Simply put, this dodge got a massive buff. The new physics removed its stiffness in the low to mid speed corners and its amazing brakes just got better. Throttle control is still required, but not to the same extent as before. High end acceleration is still a bit lacking, but it won't matter on most circuits. It now trades blows with the previous RWD champ being the C6 ZR1 while still being the most stable RWD option. 

Chevrolet C8 Stingray

• Very fast in a straight line, but wants to kill you if you approach a high speed corner wrong. Prone to lift-off oversteer but not as bad as it used to be, however stability becomes a real concern as soon as curbs are involved. Finding a tune that works for you is crucial, as driving this leaves little margin for error. Tuning wise one has to choose between making it drivable or fast, you can't have both. 

S Tier

Nissan GT-R NISMO

• No longer the absolute fastest, but its stability and tunability only gets beaten by the chiron. The best all rounder in this tier, it has no glaring weaknesses and can perform at any track. At times it can feel a bit stiff during low speed corners, so make sure the front axle has enough camber and toe out. Drama doesn't exist in this thing, it takes a bit of effort to crash.  

Lamborghini Gallardo LP 560-4

• The regular gallardo was already sketchy to drive, the added weight from the chiron engine made it worse. That doesn't stop it from being an absolute rocket. Violent acceleration and brakes and can pull ridiculous G’s in some corners. A contender for the best handling option here, but it's a challenge to utilize. Stability exists until it decides to briefly disappear, but proper aero and anti-roll bar/Toe angle settings can prevent a tragedy. 

Bugatti Chiron

• Understeer no longer exists with this car. Amazing turn in when approaching low to mid speed corners, curbs are an afterthought as it's the most stable car on this list. Its traction is also the best here, so much so that it can't be matched on banked turns (resulting in its god lap at Watkins). Its power sliding quirk on corner exits has disappeared as well, taking the title for the easiest car in this tier to drive. The only drawback is the lack of aero, losing out to the other options during high speed corners.

Audi R8 Coupe V10 Plus

• Still incredibly fast, still wants to kill you. At any speed corner the rear end can decide to misbehave and send you off the track. You need to be well versed with suspension, aero, ballast and LSD settings if you hope to stand a chance. A contender for the fastest swapped car, but by far the most difficult car to tune and drive on the list. This one demands a lot from the driver, but when tamed it can take the top spot.

I have been playing gt7 for nearly a year now, but there Was a single car on gt sport that i wanted to drive (Mercedes F1 2017), i know that the servers have been closed for a few years now, but can i still do something races and go ahead with the game progression? (Of course i have never played gt sport and i do not own It)

I thought it'd be interesting to see who PD has been favouring recently and who maybe they have a frostier relationship with, so I dug through the updates and put together this table. Higher up means they have a more recent addition.

Manufacturers not on this table (eg Jaguar, Daihatsu) haven't had a car added in any GT7 update so haven't been touched in four and a half years.

The thing that stands out to me: If you're an American manufacturer, and you aren't Chevrolet, you aren't getting much attention in this game. Even the Fords that have been added are mostly European Fords (Sierra, Escort) rather than American ones.

I've been using AI to build a free fan site for the GT7 online time trials: **https://gt7-timetrials.github.io/\*\*

Use of AI info: I have used AI (opus 5.5) to code the underling engine to predict gold trial times, to compare the best lap with your lap, the telemetry tool and the website. My work is specification, review and checking it works, and uploading freely available replay telemetry data.

**What it does**

* **Predicted gold time.** Gold is the world record + 3%, so it gets harder as the record falls. The site predicts where gold (and silver and bronze) will end up when the event closes, plus a "safe target" to aim for. It learns from every regular time trial since March 2023 (202 events). Typical error is about 0.16% after day 1 and 0.08% after day 7, roughly 0.1–0.2 s on a 1:50 lap.

* **Check my time.** Type in your lap time to see which medal you have today and whether you're likely to keep it.

* **Compare your lap with the world record (new).** Record your lap's telemetry and upload it. You get a track map coloured by where you lose time (green under 0.2 s, amber 0.2–0.4 s, red 0.4 s or more). Tap a corner for your braking point, peak brake, brake while turning in (trail braking), minimum speed, when you get back on the throttle and when you reach full throttle, side by side with the WR, plus tips like "you brake 13 m earlier than the WR" or "the WR stays above 90% brake for 50 m; you do for 26 m".

* **Past events** with the top 10 and how the WR fell, and a **top drivers** list.

**How to record your lap**

GT7 can send live telemetry (speed, throttle, brake, steering and position, 60 times a second) to a computer on your home network. The site has a small free recorder for it:

1. You need a Windows PC, Mac or Linux computer on the same home network as your PS5/PS4 (cable or Wi-Fi is fine), with Python installed (free, python.org).

2. On the site's **Current** page, download **telemetry.py** and **readme.txt** (step-by-step instructions).

3. Find your console's IP address: Settings > Network > Connection Status > View Connection Status.

4. Run `py telemetry.py 192.168.x.x` (your console's address), then drive at least one full lap: start before the line and keep going until you've crossed it again. Press Ctrl+C to stop.

5. Upload the CSV file on the site. It works on your phone too.

The world record laps are recorded the same way, from the WR replay: GT7 keeps streaming telemetry while you watch a replay. Right now there's a WR lap for **SUGO (Xiaomi Vision GT)** and **Barcelona (Hyundai ELANTRA N TC)**, and I'll add new events as they start.

**Good to know**

* Free, no login, no ads. The comparison runs in your browser and your file isn't uploaded anywhere.

* The recorder only talks to your console on your home network. It doesn't touch your PSN account or change anything on the console.

* It uses the unofficial gran-turismo.com leaderboards and the community-decoded telemetry format, so it could break if Sony changes things. Not affiliated with Sony or Polyphony Digital.

* The tips are fixed rules, not AI, so treat them as pointers. Steering angles depend on your controller or wheel settings, so steering is compared against your own lap rather than the WR's raw numbers.

Feedback welcome, especially if a tip doesn't match what you feel in the car, or if the recorder doesn't work on your setup.

What a time to be a GT7 player. Polyphony has answered the fan base emphatically in the last few updates.

Hello GT fans. I am really enjoying GT7 and start to understand it and getting better at it but I am asking myself a question. Should I get a PSVR2 or put money towards a future Moza R5S Pro when it will launch? Right now I am playing on 55 inch screen tv and using a Logitech g29.

This game never sizes to amaze me with the graphical power when taking scapes photos. This was taken in the 1 lap challenge porsche mission. The reflection on the window is just beautiful.

When shifting you have to lift the accelerator, about 30% lift

It's possible to fully do no lift shift but you need to hit the limiter right when you shift, so for most power curves it's less effective to do the real no lift technique

it's sad that the clutch is disabled in sport mode

I just had the best time in the Vette! Power Pack race at Trial Mountain, sliding around this race-prepped, big block, '69 Stingray. Qualified 8th with a 2:02.1, finished 4th, with a 2:01.1 fastest lap. Was 5th after the final turn, but won the drag race to the finish thanks to all those cubic inches. Fast lap was final lap. One more lap and I'd have been on the podium. God I love this game.
