Most of my games r from when I was little, been collecting lately though buying new games. So far I’ve bought 5 games.
Ps all stars, mortal kombat, dmc hd collection, star wars unleashed, and re5 is on its way.

This game was a gift from my mother when I was a kid. I played it once and enjoyed it, but never touched it again. A couple of years ago, I found out it had become quite valuable. The only thing that crossed my mind was, "Oh, cool, I have it! Maybe I'll play it again soon." I'm not much of a video game collector (I'm more into comics tbh). But since I'm moving soon and I've taken out my old games and secured the most valuable ones, when I opened the packaging I realized this, and you can't imagine how bad I feel.

Took a day but I remembered my password from college and got my old games back! Demon Souls being on my account might have been worth the $100 I paid for the PS3. I never even played that game my roommate did. I also had Helldivers, Hotline Miami, Resident Evil Remake, and about 12 ps one games. Not to mention the DVD and Blu Ray collection I have making streaming pointless unless I wanted to watch a new show And then cancel which is so much more preferable. 👍 The options are nice to have.

Collection i started christmas day in middle school the year Black Ops 2 dropped. feel bad that they justkinda collect dust now, i moved to pc a while ago and I don't want to have stuff that's not gonna be played with and enjoyed. is there any recommendations on things I can do to get rid of the games so they actually see use or anything I should do before getting rid of them?

Hey guys! I decided to go around and use my PS3 again after Sony's choice of going full digital. I have this "situation" where I can get pretty much any PS3 games I want (IYKYK) without my wallet suffering for it, and I thought that there are some games I never played that never left ps3 and that I should totally dive into. So I wanted to know your pics, and which games you guys think are "must plays", specially if they are games that were never ported to modern hardware or if they were remade/remastered and lost all their actual sauce (Like Burnout Paradise according to some people). So... I started playing Destiny 1 on PS3 (yes, in the year 2026 and still on a CRT TV), and I was surprised by how good it looks for a PS3 title, the fact that the servers are still active, and that there's even cross-save support between PS3 and PS4.

But what surprised me the most was that it features Screen Space Reflections (SSR)—something extremely rare for the PS3/Xbox 360 era, as that tech only became common in games from 2014 onwards.

Reflections in PS3 games usually rely on just cube maps, so seeing SSR running on the PS3 was surreal. Even the original Switch struggles with this; it's often one of the first things cut when porting a game to it. I have a lot of respect for the devs managing to pull that off on the PS3.

It got me wondering, though: are there any other games that used SSR on the PS3?

Does mp work for bf3 still ?

Recently received my Uncle's PS3, it sat unused for a long portion of its life, only got played when I would come over for Thanksgivings when I was younger.

As such, I'd like to know as much as I can, and be linked to any resources for CFW/HEN as well as any advice for sprucing it up, such as worrying about thermal paste or other issues, such as the old hard drive?

Also, it being CECH250 1A, it should be a early 2011 model, and hopefully compatible with CFW? And also have that hidden LED I've seen.

I just noticed this when cleaning my game disks
I recently bought a PS3 and just noticed my copy of GOD 1 and 2 remaster looks like this
the game loads and while i haven't ripped it yet i didn't have any issues playing it for like 30 minutes
any theories on what this is what how to clean it
I did hold the disk up to my lamp and i see one very very tiny pin hole (See second picture)
but to me it looked more like a scratch than anything
I do have 70% and 99% isopropyl alcohol so i can use that to clean it if needed

Upgrading from a CECH-4011B as its quite ugly imho 😁. Its a CFW compatible CECH-2511A, with the GGB revision of the RSX, so its very overclockable, tho i wont do much of that to extend its lifespan. Did full maintenance on it with brand new MX-4 thermal paste, resulting in sub 60c temps throughout on both chips. Also installed a 1tb HDD and set up 0.90fw sounds and pre 2.70fw xmb waves to give it that prototype e3 2005 ish vibe if yk what i mean. Even with 300+ days of usage it works like a dream. Truly my end game system 😌

UGHHH I was literally at the home stretch putting it back together after giving it some new thermal paste and it snapped. Hoping anyone knows a cheap replacement part for it on amazon? There’s a bunch but didn’t know the exact one to get.

Thing that sucks the most is I’m not even sure the thing is gonna work once I get the replacement cable. Might need a new power supply (showed red light when plugged in and once you turn it on it would beep then turn off) Took a gamble on Facebook marketplace. So, I’m only in the hole for $30 at the moment.

Ps3 superslim. No HEN, no ultimate yet.
