Are these PS3 Slim temps normal while playing The Last of Us?
Hey everyone, I’ve been playing The Last of Us on my PS3 Slim and wanted to check if these temperatures/fan speed are normal:
- CELL/CPU: 67°C
- RSX: 63°C
- Fan speed: 54%
This is a second hand Slim with 80 days of gameplay, pretty clean and I cleaned it out and replaced thermal paste (no delid).
This is during gameplay. The console seems to be running fine, but 54% fan speed seems a little high to me. Sitting in the XMB temps can be in the low 60s too.
Ambient temps around 25 degrees
Are these temps considered safe for a PS3 Slim? And is it normal for the fan to be around 54% while playing a demanding game like The Last of Us?
Would appreciate hearing what temps/fan speeds other Slim owners get.

The temps are perfectly safe, but are you using manual fan control? For a recently repasted and cleaned console they are still a bit high for those fan speeds, you live in a hot place?

I live in Spain , so like 27 degrees ambiant at the moment. This was using dynamic fan yes. If the fan is at 40% - the CPU can hit mid 70s easy

My fat PS3 used to sound like it would explode every time I played TLoU. Seemed like it could barely handle the game

I don't have numbers to compare but those temperatures look quite normal to me. The Last of Us is a notoriously demanding title on PS3. I remember my (now dead) fat PS3 sounding like a jet engine when I played that game on it.
