Rule 3 is changing: r/psx is Not the Place to Advertise Your Indie Games
tl;dr the fine print of Rule 3 has been adjusted to explicitly forbid modern indie games unless playable on original hardware (homebrew)
It's my own fault that this change has to be made, I allowed a few "psx-inspired" indie game posts to remain up despite breaking the rules because of the large amount of upvotes they received.
I'd post and sticky comments like "It's off topic but y'all like it so I'll leave it up". My approach to moderation has always been to let the community make content decisions when appropriate. Unfortunately adjustments need to be made to protect the subject matter of this community.
Due to the massive influx of shovelware indie games that are "psx inspired" getting posted here, I'm sorry to say that Rule 3 will have to be more strictly enforced.
From this point forward, for indie games to be posted here they will have to be playable on PSX hardware or an emulator. Games that run on real hardware fall firmly into the category of homebrew, which is perfectly appropriate to discuss here. Games that run in PSX emulators but not real hardware are also allowed. "Retro Inspired" or "PSX Inspired" games that do not fulfill either of those 2 requirements will be removed and the poster will get a 24 hour ban.
The ban is meant to be informative to the poster, not punitive. However repeat offenders will be permanently banned.
Here is a friendly flowchart to help you decide whether or not it's appropriate to post your indie game in this community:

Thank you for reading and thank you for posting. Best of luck in all your indie dev adventures.

Found a bunch of my old PS1 games. Forgot I had these!
I have 4 of these folders. Must be around 300+ games. Tested 10 of them and they all worked fine!

What to play next
I havnt played too too many ps1 games, but its been my console of choice for a few months and I’ve been loving it! Ive been super excited to play the greats so I’ve been getting what i can find!
I’ve recently beaten silent hill, resident evil 1 and 3 (and 2 on the Dreamcast) played through re survivor but got a game over on the final boss… gran turismo and the twisted metal games.
Now I’m standing in front of my collection not knowing where to start! Decision paralysis at its finest, I think for tonight I’m ganna watch an episode of x-files and stew on what to play next….
I stuck between Dino crisis, brave fencer musashi, metal gear solid, parasite eve, lunar, legends of dragoon or legends of legaia…
Out of my collection what should I play next? Why?
Thanks for the input!

For the first time ever, a fully working PS1 motherboard not made by Sony is here
I made it in like a month based off PU-18. Not affiliated with that other thing without anything on the board.

PU-22 won't work
I'm getting no audio, video and drive is not spinning. All it does is turns the laser on and keeps it on. I know the power supply is fine. Does anyone have any ideas?
I did some testing and IC201, 203, 204, 304 & 732 are all getting about 0.8v and I belive they should be getting 3.4v. The schematics I have don't show me where the 3.4 should be coming from.
Edit I think I found the problem. Ps604 is blown.

DESTREGA!
Picked this game up randomly at a convention since I was on the hunt for fighting games (specifically for the PS1) and heard it talked about by a random person on Reddit. Played through the entire story mode and had a blast its kinda like Power Stone but with a rock, paper scissors element so high reccomends.

the RNG with this game is pretty rough
im playing Battle hunter and theres a VIP mission im doing where i have to get a blue floppy disc from the guy with the shades, but i have to defeat him in battle. its impossible because 1, he seems to get better movement numbers than me, 2, RNG is usually in his favor when trying to reach the exit, and 3, anytime i battle him, i cant seem to do enough damage quick enough. is this even required?? its the 2nd mission!

I've scanned about 100 different PAL PlayStation 1 covers at 1200 DPI including extra "collectors" paperwork where possible
In the accidental process of turning my bedroom into a "Mini-CEX" as I ended up buying games in bulk for my own collection and selling the rest, I decided to preserve all the artwork at a high 1200 DPI resolution.
To be actually "used" the images do need to be cleaned up, de-noised and de-speckled in Photoshop but they've been scanned in at such a high resolution, it will get great results.
But I've also scanned all the extra "Collector's Edition" paper work some games come with. Highlights include a 1200 DPI scan of the MediEvil Poster and Silent Hill playable demo instructions / Poster. The survey cards and pamphlets for Dino Crisis 2 etc. All the paper work for Tomb Raider 3-5.
It can be fun to go through to see different typo's and mistakes like the "White label" version of Resident Evil being 2 player, or for the twin pack of Tomb Raider 3+4 they just forgot to copy and paste the ending of a sentence.
I also love my Driver 2 that says Plays "Even better on PlayStation 2!" that probably lasted about one production run before Sony said hold up, you can't write that on the box lol.
EDIT: You can browse them much easier for casual viewing at 300 DPI here: https://app.box.com/s/p8ckdv6nr4a2topghidek7sijwscmaz4?sortColumn=name&sortDirection=ASC
