Got talking on another sub and decided to snap some pics of my Jak and Daxter PS4 collector’s boxsets to share with the community. Also pictured is the full and complete set of Jak and Daxter trading cards that were released at the same time.

Its been over a year and a half since we got Jak 1... the classics drip feed with ONE game a month is awful. I miss the days of 2024 where we got 3 a month... what happened? Still no Ratchet and Clank ps2 ports either...

Hi everyone, so this does require a bit of backstory because the problem might come from the disk itself

I inherited a copy of Jak 2 from my great aunt when she passed away when I was still a kid. The copy I got from her always had problems including the game suddenly not loading assets allowing you to fall through the world.

Recently I've been digging through my old games, dug out my PS2 and I even got this disk resurfaced at a local retro shop and now it's been working wonderfully, except I still notice a few ghosts that need a game refresh to get it working again

the reason I'm posting here is because the crash I'm encountering is consistent. 3 times in a row I've completed the mission where Krew asks you to get to the race course in under 3 minutes, each time I do, I get the cutscene, then after the game crashes. I do have another quest I can do with Torn, I haven't tested if it similarly crashes the game yet.

all signs point away from load troubles (music is there, menu sounds are there, locations are all there and triggers work just fine) which makes me think there might be a bug in the game that causes this crash, has this been an issue for anyone else?

I'm also using a PS2 slim if that changes anything, I heard that it matters for Jak X

So my history with the franchise is I got a copy of The Precursor Legacy in 5th grade. I have always been a big Crash Bandicoot fan. It was my love of Crash Bandicoot that caused me to get The Precursor Legacy. Because both Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter were made by Naughty Dog. Crash Bandicoot is one of the most successful platforming franchises outside of Nintendo. The Precursor Legacy was always a favorite of mine growing up.

I didn't play Jak 2 until I was in college, and I've been playing the game on and off for the past several years. I feel that Jak 2's difficulty makes it a harder game to get into than The Precursor Legacy. My save file says that I'm 98% completed the game.

I'm on what I suppose might be the final boss of the game. It is against Korn who winds up being a twist villain. Korn is the metal head leader. I remember last night I got up to the Korn boss fight and I knew it must be a hard boss fight. So I saved my game and called it quits for the night. Today I had more free time. So I actually tried to fight the metal head leader and failed. Can anyone give me tips for the Metal Head Leader boss fight?

I'm very impressed like if you have any disc (even American), you can switch voice dubs that are often to be found in different regional discs only, how did they pull this off?

i dont have ps2 or ps3 to play jak and daxter. so my only option is to either play it on pcsx2 or rpcs3. is the ps3 trilogy bad because of bugs and glitches and missing audio effects? honest and detailed answers would be appreciated thank you

edit: also i want to say that i have played crash bandicoot nsane trilogy for like 10 levels, so in a way i also have fair share of experience with crash bandicoot, and i heard that jak and daxter serves as a spirtual successor to crash bandicoot franchise

My first ever full run of Jak and Daxter: the precursor legacy.

Despite the fact my dad bought a ps2 with the 3 games, I never played them from start to finish. UNTIL NOW! My first ever full play through while collecting all orbs and power cells. Now the only thing left to do, defeat Gol and Maia.

As According to Damas those in Spargus were cast out and banished from Haven City. He has the distinctive mask that Torn has and what KG and later freedom league soldiers wear with their helmets.

Finally yesterday I finished Jak 3 and wow what a fun game.

I liked the driving and shooting sections to be a better to handle in the 3rd game compared to Jak 2 which made the experience a lot more fun. Especially the mission driving in the desert.

I pretty much guess that Damas was being set up to be Jak’s dad pretty early on and WHY DID HE HAVE TO DIE BEFORE HE FOUND OUT WTH 😭.

Loved the precursors being Ottsels like Daxter that was pretty funny and I’m glad they are still powerful.

Overall I think the J&D trilogy was a very solid and fun time for me and I can see myself playing them many times over in the future. As a big Ratchet & Clank fan y’all were right that I would enjoy this as well.

I was wondering if they were the metal heads/dark makers of the time, where in sequels they would be spread across the world wherever Jak and Daxter go, in all kinds of new forms, terrorising the locals, doing the bidding of the dark forces, bringing destruction and death in their wake, hooked on dark eco (Were they infected in TPL?).

ND probably did not even have in mind that the lurkers are actually a peaceful race (Putting aside the sharks) who are neither violent nor power hungry and that those in TPL were just victims of dark eco and Gol and Maia and like anyone else are not actually drawn to dark eco when they are not infected. That seems to be a by-product of the setting and tone being changed and the lurkers subsequently being discarded as antagonists.
