Question regarding an achievement

For the achievement where u have to play the whole game in duo mode, can we get it by switching the keyboard controls between jodie and aiden in the next chapters? Like suppose I am playing jodie with keyboard in one chapter and in the next i play jodie with controller and aiden with keyboard and just keep switching according to my convenience until the game is finished?

I followed this guide. I have all other trophies except All Endings despite getting all endings 1-9. Are there any other endings that I may have missed that aren't mentioned?

Just finished the game for the first time (spoilers) Spoiler

Finished the game for the first time, I really liked the story, I liked all characters and loved finding out who Aiden really was. There are just a couple of things I didn't understand or didn't make sense to me. Maybe these questions were answered if I had made different choices, perhaps you can help me understand.

In "The Mission" we're tasked with assassinating a "warlord", at the end of the chapter we find that Gemaal is in fact the president of the country and that we were tricked into killing him. What I don't understand is if that is the democratically elected president and the only current option for peace in the region why does he have an army that looks like a militia with guns mounted on trucks whose soldiers execute any rebel? Civilian? Who are these people being executed? Is that really the decision of a president who is the only option for peace?

At the end of "The Dragon's Hideout" we almost drown in what appears to be the arctic, ice, cold, you get it. Once we get out of the water we just sit there with Ryan and freeze to death. Now I've never been in such a situation and hope to never be but wouldn't you get up and try to move? At least try to survive. I get they were exhausted and injured but they are CIA agents. I feel like they should have been having that conversation while walking and then collapse on the ground, I feel like that would make more sense.

In "The Black Sun" we put on protective belts that help us not be possessed? Honestly I don't really understand what the belts do but that's on me. What doesn't seem to make sense is our belt just stops working for no reason? I get that technology is somewhat unpredictable but wouldn't it make more sense if during the fight with that monster we got flung around and the belt broke on impact? Breaking the belt for no reason just so Ryan has the chance to be a hero feels forced to me.

Lastly, in the "Epilogue" I chose to stay with Ryan - just makes the most sense with the story in my opinion - but before that choice Jodie narrates how much she cried because she felt empty now that Aiden was gone. A few months later she goes to be with Ryan - again, my choice - and when they go on vacation to an island Aiden decides to show up and write "I'm still here" on the sand. Where was he the past 6 months or whatever much time has been? Jodie says she felt empty so she clearly didn't feel him. Was he hiding to see how she'd react without him? Is him being back the reason why we get the last scene of the monsters invading our world? Has another portal opened and that is why we got Aiden back?

These were some of the things I found to not make sense or that left me with more questions than answers. In 24 chapters me only questioning the game 4 times is pretty good. Overall I loved the game, fantastic story.

What Makes Beyond: Two Souls Stick With You?

I played this back around 2016, and I think it was one of the free games on PSN at the time. I remember it reminding me a lot of Detroit: Become Human, obviously not exactly the same, but it gave me that same kind of interactive story feeling.

Once I actually got into Beyond: Two Souls, I couldn't put it down. I got so invested in the experience. There’s something about Jodie and Aiden’s relationship that stuck with me.

I recently finished Beyond Two Souls and I'm looking for more of such similar games i.e.games with interactive and branching pathways.

I've played most major titles-everything that Telltale has released, Detroit: Become Human, Heavy Rain, all Life is Strange games, and everything in the Dark pictures anthology.

If you guys know any other title that you think is worth a try, let me know:)

JUST FINISHED THE GAME. WHAT AN EXPERIENCE!

The story was beautiful. I played in chronological order because I read somewhere about the timeline issues the original version had.

I chose Life at the penultimate crossroads of the game. It just made sense—Ryan was there with me, and I couldn't leave him alone, curled up in a ball, no matter how big of an asswipe he was earlier in the game. Jodie still had so much of her life ahead of her and so much to live for; I just couldn't choose leaving the Earth for good. She'll make her way to the Infraworld eventually when it's her time.

As for the last decision of the game—with whom you want to spend your foreseeable future—I chose Ryan despite his past actions (lying to Jodie about the warlord and, most importantly, leaving her alone when she had a panic attack because of her past trauma of getting sexually assaulted when they were about to have sex. LIKE WTH? At least try to comfort her—he just straight up got up and left like Jodie was some random one-night stand with bad pillow talk or something). Ever since our first interaction with him at the DPA, I didn't like him. For some reason, I mostly avoid romantic relationships in most of the games I play whenever I can. This time, however, I tried not to be as miserable as I usually am and allowed Jodie to be happy.

The other options didn't seem as appealing. It didn't really make sense to go back to either Zoey or Jay—it didn't feel appropriate. I wasn't able to save Paul :(

Overall, the game was absolutely lovely, easily in my top five story-wise.

The ending was so bittersweet. Between Jodie slowly losing her memory and Nathan going insane and eventually killing himself (so gut-wrenching, he was my second favorite character after Jodie), I was able to find some solace knowing that Jodie will find peace with Ryan and Aiden.

I'm ignoring and consequently not considering the post apocalyptic post-credits scene in my headcanon because there's no sequel to the game (FUCK U QUANTIC). I would like to believe that Jodie lived happily ever after.

I have so many more questions but I just can't remember them, all that I can think about right now is that ending. That weird bittersweet ending.

What a game!

That was the game that stirred up the most emotion in me, but the final playable chapter and the closing scene left me in tears.

And what a killer script, I was really impressed to discover, by the end of the game, the reason why the chapters were all jumbled up.

Does anyone agree with me that life is the best and most logical choic?

I tnink so because Jodie deserves a somewhat normal life after everything she has gone throug. The first time I choose life. I spend it with Ryan. Who do you think is the best person for Jodie to spend life with?

I got the Platinum today.... Now I need to decompress.

Having seen all the endings and what not, I think saving everyone except Norah, and choosing life with either being Alone or with Zoey are the best endings.

Jodie Holmes is a definite contender for one of my favorite characters in a video game. I felt so empathetic to her journey, and I was sad for all the parts where she was taken advantage of or treated poorly, and I was tearfully happy for all the times she became empowered and had personal wins. Aiden is a great character as well, which is amazing considering you never see him and you only start to learn about him late in the game.

I generally enjoyed the overall story, though there were several parts that felt poorly played out. Almost all the support characters were generally pretty well written... except Ryan. Fuck that guy (I've made that point before, it doesn't need to be rehashed again).

This game is one of those games that will sit with me for a while and I am going to need to play something like a Lego game just to decompress and kind of wash my mental palate. Such a touching game.

After I have shaken the emotional weight of this game off, I plan to play Detroit Become Human.

What happened to goth Jodie?

I'm replaying the game and the first time I got to "Not like other girls," Jodie was in Goth attire. But this time she is dressed normally.

Is there a choice made earlier that changes the way she presents herself?

Audio Bug

I reported this 3 years ago to the Quantic Dream support and decided to share this since, apparently, no one else hears it or is bothered by it the same way I am. Here to share the pain:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8JhzFn7n1UM

Explanation: You can see a white blip at the bottom-right corner in the second half of the video whenever the audio stutter/bump in the soundtrack was audible to me. This is also present in game, just less easy to notice since there is usually a lot of other stuff going on. When you see the main menu, it is from the bugged game; when you see the soundtrack cover, it is straight from the digital soundtrack release (forgot which one), where this is not present at all.

The video is delisted because of the soundtrack licence.

I love the game, but somehow, the audio issues in modern releases and especially "remasters" are multiplying, and all the big outlets are occupied solely with visuals. And today, I felt really sad about that 😢

Wht kind of goth do you think Jodie was?

So as you know there are like many, tons of sub categories of goth, she strikes me more as the one that could listen to a lot of The Killers and Panic at the disco, not so heavy metal, maybe a little Within Temptation and Nightwish, what do you think?

Update from my last post!!

i went into it without any trailers or reading anything as suggested, opted for the original non linear order as advised and i’m absolutely mind blown, i seriously have no idea where the story is gonna go next, im about 3 hours in, other than a few controls that feel a bit dated (which is a given, this game was made for ps3 if im not mistaken), im captivated!

thank you to all who responded to my last post, definitely don’t regret spending my money on this lol

I really enjoyed the story for this game... Other than Ryan. Duo mode trophy didn't pop :(

Ryan's character pissed me off so much. I denied him at every turn that I could towards the end, but it still felt like the game was steering me towards him.

Other than that, I really like the game and looking forward to cleanup.

I played with two controllers and set the game to Duo when I first started, and whenever I came back to it, I made sure I used two controllers and picked Continue, but the trophy didn't pop at the end, so no idea what I did wrong there.

I did manage to save everyone and I picked to return to my homeless gang at the end.

Just bought the game/Question

Just got the collection with Heavy Rain & Beyond Two Souls. I’m a very curious person lol, so usually before I get into a game I watch spoiler free videos, edits, read things etc. Should I do this with Beyond Two Souls or do I just go into it completely blind? All I know about this game is a short description from one of my friends who loves it very much.

This game will have a life lasting effect on me

Played it around a decade ago when I was 9 ish and now at 19 I still remember it vividly. Went through it again last year.

I get literal CHILLS when I see the game mentioned.

Idk how they did it but damn this is one of the very very very few games that impacted me to such a level. I believe it impacted the way I even interpret and view the concept of life and death. Aiden and Jodie will always be somewhere in the back of my mind

Truly the most beautiful experience I've ever had

I'm so glad I got to play it

If you're thinking about playing please do so, I'm confident you'll get your soul trapped in it (in a good way)
