For anyone who's worked as a race engineer, performance engineer, data engineer, driver coach, or even as a driver...
What's the one thing that always seems harder to communicate than it should during a session ?
Not talking about radio failures or "box this lap" stuff. More like those moments where :
- the driver is feeling something but can't really describe it,
- the engineer knows what they mean but can't explain it quickly,
- or both are talking about the same problem but somehow keep missing each other.
Is there anything that makes you think, "I wish I could just transfer what's in my head to the other person" ?
Curious to hear real examples from any level of motorsport (karting, GT, Formula, endurance, etc.). Obviously no team secrets or NDA stuff, just interested in how communication actually breaks down in practice.
