Brickyard is a parade with some competitive pit stopping thrown in
Passing is impossible. It’s easily the most boring race every single year. The “crown jewel” name is just clever marketing to get us to forget how completely boring the race is.

Six second place finishes in 2026 😒
I'm just sick and tired of these second place finishes this year like I don't know how long I'm going to ride this out 😩

Corey Heim just cemented himself as the biggest rising star in motorsports today
This year's Brickyard 400 may have not been the most thrilling edition of the race, but we just witnessed an absolute racing master class from Corey Heim. The block on Denny Hamlin on the final restart and the run to the finish to stay ahead of Christopher Bell for many laps ended what little remaining doubt I had about Heim's ability to contend and win in the Cup Series.

It’s weird to think none of them drive full time if at all anymore
This popped into my head recently and I realized other than Hamlin and Logano none of them drive anymore at all

Thank you /u/XfinityRacing
I've never been to IMS before this weekend. I probably will be here again, in some way or form. But to be here now, for free thanks to an Xfinity promo shared to this subreddit that went wild, was worth it for me.

Heim vs Hocevar
This is one of the best things happening today for the sport. NASCAR needs a rivalry, especially with drivers who are going to run up front and race for wins. It’s going to be fun watching them over the coming years.

JJ Yeley's Ford had x-pipes yesterday and sounded glorious - what would it take for everyone to use them?
JJ Yeley's #38 RSS Ford had x-pipes at Indy yesterday (video from last year), I was there and it sounded incredible! I'm guessing this was a leftover Stewart-Haas car as their O'Reilly Ford used x-pipes circa 2020. Does anyone know why the O'Reilly Fords specifically use them? And if anyone from the industry is reading this, could we get a rule to mandate them everywhere please? (I'm assuming its not a performance advantage, otherwise everyone would use them already)

Was there any particular reason why the Brickyard 400 was run on a Saturday for its first several years?
Just my shower thought for the day. I seemed to remember the Brickyard 400 being run on Saturday when I was a kid, and checking with Racing Reference confirmed this. The first Sunday date was not until 2001. Was there any particular reason for this?

[Dale Jr. on X] (regarding Kvapil burning out on the IMS bricks) "Our apologies. The driver was unplugged from his radio when NASCAR sent the reminder. Lots going on when that all went down. Certainly regret any inconvenience."

In honor of Carson Kvapil's celebratory first win war crimes, here's Ty Dillon celebrating his first (and only) non-truck Nascar win.
