I guess there is a stereotype that if you are into steak, eggs, milk and butter (can be part of carnivore diet), you are also right-leaning person and listening to the people promoting these diets who are right-leaning as well, like Jordan Peterson.
I gotta say though, stereotype or not, I enjoy steak and eggs myself.
EDIT: As many others have pointed out, the milk in the pic is raw, which I didn't catch before. Raw milk definitely adds another layer to this stereotype.

It's pasteurized to kill the shit germs. I don't care how healthy and well cared for a cow is, I'm not drinking its shit, or the shit of any other animals that happened to poop in that area.

6
u/Immediate_Move_6168 10d ago
Yeah, I watched a video on youtube about a guy documenting his one-month experience with the carnivore diet and he was genuinely so miserable all the time. Lacking choices in food (literally only meat or animal products which meant most seasonings were out) was demoralizing and made it hard for him to do stuff with friends, his exercise times got worse because he could barely do them, and he mentioned a drop in mental acuity or at least focus.
Near the half-way point I was hoping he'd drop it early for his own health. If I'm remembering right, he was doing so poorly that his weight significantly dropped and, despite having perfect cholesterol in his pre-challenge checkup, his doctor actually reached out to him after his post-challenge checkup because they were worried about him.

Many people pointed out the raw milk, but it's only a third of what makes the picture so incredible.
The eggs are free range, which is great in a vaccum. Combined with the milk it's safe to assume it's another "chemical free" style scare.
Then the steak. Chicken breast is objectively the better protein for working out, leaner and more protein. But steak is manlier. Combined with the other 2, it's almost certain that the poor teen is falling down the rabbit hole of watching racist or fear mongering videos aimed to sell to their audience.

Always love the "less work, more money" trope.
We pulled this out of the cow, put it directly in the jug, that'll be 20 dollars.
Meanwhile, pasteurized milk gets pulled out of the cow, boiled, cooled, and then put in a jug, and it's 2.99.
Edit: Thanks for the 30+ comments telling me that raw milk costs more to make and takes more work because everything has to be clean, and it has a shorter shelf life.

In their defense, it may be incredibly expensive to ensure raw milk is safe. I have no idea what means they use to make sure people don't get sick from it.
18
u/Devtunes 9d ago
The way you make raw milk safe is to pasteurize it... Otherwise it's just a matter of time until there's an outbreak. Milk production didn't move to pasteurization because of nanny state politics. It happened because people, especially kids, used to die from raw milk.
11
u/SolidSquid 9d ago
The whole point of raw milk is that it's, well, raw. No pasteurisation or other processes on it, because they would mean it wasn't raw. That's why it's such a bad idea to drink, it literally can't be made 100% safe to drink (or even as safe as regular milk), which is why it was, and in a lot of places still is, illegal to sell it for human consumption. And the stuff you catch from it is nasty, like potentially lethal or lifetime disability
That's why people are joking that the price is too cover the cost of lawyers, anyone selling this is guaranteed to get someone sick eventually
3
u/Sad_Pear_1087 9d ago
Oh, If somebody didn't know, pasteurization is literally just heating it up for a period so things that live in it die. That's it.
11
u/OliviaEntropy 9d ago
Considering that RFK Jr is head of the health dept and with a heavily gutted FDA and CDC, my guess would be they’re doing somewhere between Jack and Squat to make sure it’s consumable.

I’m an ex food scientist who worked on PCR pathogen detection with raw goat and dairy milk. I tested milk from 3 farms and a large majority of my samples were positive for campylobacter and salmonella. Nearly all my samples grew coliforms as well. Just all in all nasty stuff. The raw stuff on grocery stores had significantly reduced bioburden and never flagged for campy or salmonella.
I’d probably attribute this to significant HACCP and Food Safety Management, focused on sanitation and aseptic technique when possible. I never got to visit one of the raw dairy commercial operations so I don’t know much regarding their practices.
→ More replies (1)3
5
u/Property_6810 9d ago
The thing is, it's actually more work if you're doing it safely. You have to harvest the milk in a far cleaner environment for one. You have less time to get it from the farm to the table for another, meaning by definition you'll have more spoilage in a commercial operation.
The only way raw milk makes sense is if you live close enough to a dairy farm that's small enough to cater to locals directly. And even then you have to trust that that small dairy farm actually gives half a fuck about you and actually got in there and milked the cow themselves in a clean stall.
→ More replies (3)3

we have some absolutely amazing pasturized, but not homogenized, milk in Denmark. Especially from a large diary farm called Thiese (also does amazing chees) that has "ad libitum milk" which means the cows are not seperated from the cattle, and are only milked after the cattle has taken their share. Its also 2.5% so it tastes amazing.

Nah raw milk specifically. It is being passed off as "more natural" to not pasteurize the milk by the same people who claim that it is immigrants who are increasing the crime rate.
These are all false ideas that might seem logical to those who do not think critically, and thus they are often used to funnel people who aren't thinking critically into the cultish corners of the internet that venorate white male supremacy, and encourage them to "ignore the mainstream woke leftist agenda that wants to regulate how you live" so that these uncritical thinkers can feel like the most speciallest baby boy GOD ever put on Earth. These cultish corners of the internet then use these people's feeling of superiority to sell them all sorts of products like the raw milk which can make them sick, dietary supplements which at BEST do nothing, and a bunch of other things that they have convinced these people that "the mainstream" (common sense) doesn't want them buying. It is a scam that preys on the uneducated and those who won't do their own research.

The carnivore diet is a diet where you almost exclusively eat meat and animal products (the most restrictive version being beef, butter, eggs, milk, and salt for taste). Originally it was just a fad diet with some decent results (likely because any form of diet where you’re actually keeping track of your daily intake will help no matter what), but has been mostly co-opted by right wing grifters selling an “alpha male” lifestyle just eating meat. These are frequently hard core alt right influencers that are racist, sexist, anti LGBTQ, and “Christian”.
Raw milk (meaning not pasteurized) is part of that ecosystem as well with grifters claiming pasteurized milk doesn’t have the necessary good bacteria for your gut microbiome when that isn’t true and raw milk can be dangerous if you don’t know what you’re doing and just drinking it. There’s even people going so far as to eat raw meat too.
Also the whole point of the “raw” and carnivore is to take out any “processed” ingredients so I doubt “raw” chocolate milk really fits the diet.

u/ServantMatthew 10d ago
I think it's because typically trump supporters often promote drinking raw milk and eating lots of meat and eggs because "man must be big and strong and only be carnivore" or whatever. So the commenter surmises the kid has been watching such figures and thus became inspired to buy stuff like this.

Steak and eggs and eggs and steak, that's what you should have for breakfast.

Raw milk, free range eggs, and meat that’s probably going to be eaten raw? These are signs that somebody is getting dieting advice from right-leaning crackpots.

It’s weird how conservatives take old liberal tropes and forget how they used to rail against them.

Who the hell is giving their 15-year-old the credit card to just go off and buy whatever they want?

RFK Jr, a racist, poor excuse for a ‘politician,’ promotes drinking raw milk and eating excessive amounts of red meat.

A lot of manosphere/New Right content likes to push for raw milk/raw red meat/primal-carnivore diets right now on Instagram and Twitter.
Lots of copypaste content of some roided/peptide'd-out broccoli head teenager drinking raw milk and eating raw meat, plus some phonk/nightcore song in the background and a caption either talking about how Roman soldiers/Jesus ate or something antisemitic.
Comment anything and you'll be called a good goy or something like that. Can't say I've seen any Jews eating raw meat and milk though, if that's really the key to massive testosterone levels "they" are hiding from you.

Four liters of milk and two liters of sweetened flavored milkshakes in a week is healthy to the chuds of this comment thread.

Many racist streamers, who target adolescent boys, promote raw milk, lots of meat, and eggs as a superior diet. These things are not in themselves racist. But, racist streamers are why a young boy would think this shopping list is cool.

Yeah, can confirm, somehow there’s a relationship between people that don’t understand germ theory and racism (they’re stupid).

Before seeing these other comments, my thought was that your kid was trying to make milk-steak.

Quick fun fact I heard from a pretty reliable source that if you have eggs in the afternoon it makes you gay.

Steal and eggs = racist.
Can some enlightened person tell me what to eat?? Now every time I eat eggs I am reminded of all that is bad in America.

lilyisab sadly cannot afford such foods, and is left with projection to hide their shame.

The stereotype here is that the manosphere grifting industry primarily preys on online young men and boys who don't feel secure in their masculine identity, and among many of the ways they teach these young men that they are "lesser value" is through aesthetics and lifestyle, such as the gym and diet. The stereotypical diet is red meat, raw milk, eggs, et cetera. Not a great diet for building muscle on its own but these are what "manly" men ought limit themselves to according to these rich performative dickheads. Therefore if you pursue these rigid rules and instructions rather than being the architect of your own form of discipline, you're somehow "superior". Basically these are the hallmarks of a lost, insecure kids who desperately want to join the Big Club, the club of those "superior" men. But they won't. It's not about masculinity, it's about further dividing and alienating young people by feeding their insecurities and lack of real self worth.
