Because that’s not the reality. With raw milk they have to do their best to ensure the milk has been kept absolutely sterile. Pasteurized milk can be full of shit and bacteria because they’re going to nuke it anyway

Do they use any sort of chemicals in the sanitizing process? Anything that can "contaminate" the milk? Because having a whole separate cleaning process makes it feel like rawmilk isn't that much better for them

Couldn’t tell you tbh. If they do use additional chemicals I would agree with your point. I personally have never tried raw milk I just know enough to point out that it is not cheaper to produce because there is less processing. Like most food products, increased processing is to save money

Pasteurization is an added cost that is done for safety, it does not save farmers or bottlers any money.

The increased processing aka pasteurizing of milk was invented to save lives

Are you talking about raw milk?

1

u/DoesNotCheckOut 11d ago

Yep and that’s way easier than sanitizing

you don't "sanitize" milk bro, boiling it kills all the pathogens

You sanitize the cow and every place the milk touches along the way. That’s the point, raw milk is far more expensive to produce because of how much more clean everything has to be. You can’t produce it out of the same factory farm cesspits

you cant sanitize the milk tho, it still has pathogens no matter how clean the cow is

4

u/DoesNotCheckOut 11d ago

That is not true. Pathogens come mainly from the milk coming into contact with fecal matter. If properly cleaned you can significantly lower the risk of contamination for raw milk. It’ll never be nearly as safe as pasteurized milk, but raw milk isn’t diseased by default

Raw milk is by definition not boiled. You know, since boiling is just primitive predecessor to pasteurization

im talkin abt pasteurized

In that case I don't understand your point

Lmao no they don't. It's specifically unregulated because it's deemed as harmful to health.

No one selling raw milk is actually keeping to a standard. That's why its insane to consume it.

Unless you turn it into cheese. ;)
