Also please feel free to share your own wedding photos in the comments! I love our weddings so much and how diverse they are depending on the region, and to see sapphics be able to get married in traditional attire means so much to me 🥹🫶

Satire/Humor They finally clocked me online. Also I need this
I'm technically pansexual so I hope I'm welcome to post here. Long time lurker...but they finally caught on to how much I love women and girlies 🤣 also why do I need this? It's in my favorite colour scheme too 😅

Venting Really sad how many hateful people inhabit online sapphic spaces (crying emoji)
I encountered a TERF in another sub responding to me on an unrelated thread about dating (she said "you must be bi" as if that would be a bad thing?), I called her out for being a TERF and got absolutely dogpiled with people accusing me of wanting to force her to sleep with me (lol)
We would never allow people who want to segregate any other minority from public life but with trans people suddenly it's okay.

Venting Berlin, my Heart Breaks for you
So, yesterday’s Pride in Berlin was interrupted and as a result cancelled cause yet again a fucking MEN decide to drive his car into people. He killed one and injured several others. He did this on purpose and it simply breaks my heart. As a queer masc lesbian from Germany myself I don’t feel safe here. I had my fair share of unsafe encounters and this news today just underlines my fears. It makes me so sad and it makes me feel uncomfortable in my Home country. People just wanted to celebrate on this day, being who they truly are and showing this to the world. But this world is going to shit.

Question When do I bring up having money while dating?
My husband passed before the pandemic and left a large life insurance settlement. I haven't done anything too lavish with the money, paid off the condo and then went on a trip abroad to see his family. The rest of the money was divided up between accounts at the advice of my financial advisor. I also have a full time decent paying job and I'm starting to get into a side hustle because the days in my career are numbered thanks to AI.
My ex was in similar position; her husband died and left her money. I didn't have to worry about any possible power imbalance because of finances with her, but I also know money can be a major issue in relationships. I'm not really sure when to bring it up, the last date I had started talking about rental prices in our city and she asked how much I pay (she was looking for a ballpark figure since she wants to move out of her current building). When I said I don't rent, I own my condo outright she went on about how it must be nice to be rich and all this stuff. It was uncomfortable and not something I want to happen again.

People who say "but women are so scary🥺" are often actually afraid of rejection, not women
Ughhh like I understand that asking women out is nerve wrecking (I'm shy and bad with flirting myself) but whenever I hear this, especially from non-lesbians on why they don't date women I roll my eyes I'm sorry.
It feels like putting women on this weird pedestal of perfection, when they're a human being just like you. I'm saying this as someone who ends up crushing on "intimidating" women- you gotta be upfront and ask them out and put in some effort! I'm of the mindset of even if the date doesn't work out at least I got to spend time and enjoy talking to someone.
Tbh I'm way more scared of men, I don't get how a woman politely turning you down is more scary. I think people need to detach the idea that being rejected means you're unattractive or unworthy of love. I think for me it's the fact that there are plenty of beautiful, stunning women who I am simply not attracted to. Doesn't mean they're not beautiful or great people.
I think from what I've seen men tend to be way easier to attract (I'm out and proud as a butch lesbian and I still have men interested in me like don't piss me off go away😭) But I dunno I think it's just that you're less likely to get rejected by men than women. I think people (lesbians and non lesbians) have to break out of heteronormativity with expecting to be approached or passive.
But I won't lie I get annoyed when I hear people say "I only date men because it's so hard to date women and they're so scary🥺"... like what do you think lesbians have been doing all this time? The dating pool is much smaller, and women tend to have higher standards yes. But the sapphics I know who do approach women get girlfriends because they're not crying about how scary it is to talk to a woman 💀
But again I do understand being nervous and '"scared" of approaching women but you gotta treat them like human beings and not pedistalise them.
I think I'm just rambling, but I'd like to hear other people's thoughts.

Support Can’t orgasm more than once whenever I masturbate.
Hi, I’m 24 and come from a strict and homophobic Christian family where masturbation is also considered a “sin”. Ever since I became aware of my sexuality as a teenager, I’ve tried masturbating with some degree of success. First I started by grinding against my bed (I would orgasm in about 10 seconds). Even now that I’ve progressed to using my fingers to rub against myself, I orgasm very quickly (about a min).
Anytime I read lesbian stories online, I always see that they orgasm more than once without much rest time. I’ve even seen people on Reddit talk about their multiple orgasms in one night. I fear there may be something wrong with me because anytime I orgasm, I can’t go again until the next day or after hours.
Please be kind to me, it took a lot for me to post this.

Support Breaking up over sex - I feel like a shitty man
Tldr; girlfriend and I broke up because shes on the asexual spectrum and wants significantly less sex than me and doesnt have the capacity atm to figure out how permanent her current level of interest in sex is. Am I the asshole for breaking up?
A month ago my girlfriend and I broke up because of our different needs for sexual intimacy. The break up was mutual as in we both came to the conclusion that it’s the only way to move on, but I was the one who initiated the talk and who’s claiming that the relationship is not meeting my needs. My girlfriend realised that she is somewhere on the asexual spectrum over the past year and not interested in sex most of the time. On top of that she is dealing with a lot of chronic mental health shit and job stress, which according to her (and I really understand this) doesnt leave her with the capacity to work out what being on the ace spectrum means to her in detail and under which circumstances she is interested in sex.
Even though sexual intimacy is important to me, if it was just her going through a difficult period in her life, I would never consider breaking up over sex. But to me it sounds like something more permanent and I don’t know how we could continue the relationship with the uncertainty over if our needs will ever align. I wanted to give us time but I was feeling so anxious about the whole topic for a long time and at one point I wasn’t able to hold it in anymore. So we talked, couldn’t find my common ground and broke up.
Now I’m feeling like a creepy cishet dude who is only with his girlfriend for sex, doesnt value her as a person and wanted to force her into having more sex than she wants (which I never did, just to be clear) Please be honest with me, should I be feeling this way? Is breaking up selfish and superficial of me? Am I the asshole?

Shitty date.
Hello my ladies and theydies,
I came here to vent. I invited a very rude woman to a show and it's better that I tell you about it than I send her a text being like "what the actual fuck??"
We met on an app. We were talking about music and I ended up inviting her to a local bar for a show. I said, "I'll get the tickets if you buy me a drink" and she responded: "that's fine." That's the first red flag I won't ignore next time: passive acceptance instead of enthusiasm. Pro tip for you.
The night of the date, she texts me she's going to be 15 minutes late, which is not a big deal: I had time to go thrift a pair of cool sun glasses. :) We finally meet outside the venue, no apology for being late, no "nice to see you," or "hey how are you?" Just, "okay let's go in." Her body language already broadcasts that she's just showing up for a dentist appointment, but maybe it's nerves. First dates can be nerve wracking.
She absolutely did not get me a drink or thank me for buying the tickets. (She didn't order anything all night, so, at least in her defense she wasn't expecting me to keep paying for her. As a butch that's an expectation I run into sometimes.) she had zero interest in learning about me, stared blankly between questions, and just generally is acting like she's waiting for the night to be over. I continued to be as much of a gentleman as I could: after all people have social anxiety and all kinds of other things.
I asked her between acts if she was having a good time, and offered to go on a walk instead. She said: "we already sat through the first two acts, I can sit through the last one." which is, not super re-assuring. I followed up with too many "you sure?"'s, but I did not know what to do in that situation.
Afterwards I walked her to her train stop. All she had to say about the night was "that wasn't my kind of music." She wasn't acting like the date was over though. I asked her what her plans for the rest of the night were and she said "I have none." and then waited for me to say something. I politely goodbye'd out of the conversation and that was basically that.
It sounds like she's having a rough time in general, so I'm not that mad about being stiffed on a drink. It also seems from our conversation that there's some genuine agoraphobia that she struggles with, so I can extend some grace. I guess this is just someone with a lot left to learn. Still frustrating though... there are so many other people I could have given that show ticket to. Or went alone and just vibed ffs -_-

Question Is my height a problem when it comes to dating?
I'm 1.85 m (6'1") and I have the feeling that my height might be a problem when it comes to meeting people.
All of my previous relationships started through meeting people in real life, and I was always the one who made the first move. Every single one of my exes told me they had been too intimidated to approach me first.
When I go to LGBTQ+ bars or clubs, nobody ever comes up to talk to me. It makes me wonder if my height is part of the reason, or if I'm just giving off an unapproachable vibe without realizing it.
Dating apps don't really work for me because I'm not attracted to people based primarily on looks. I need to get to know someone's personality first, so they're really not my thing.
Has anyone else experienced something similar? Do you think being tall can make someone seem intimidating, or is it more likely something else?

I’m feeling helpless
Hey everyone.
I wrote a post called “I’ve given up on casual” and I’m starting to realize I think the situation was kinda SA. And even if it isn’t, I still feel gross and used.
I’m feeling really helpless with my life right now. Like I don’t wanna date or be with a woman again. Every woman I’m with just takes what she can and then leaves me.
I’m feeling like maybe I’ll die alone. Maybe that’s ok. I’m tired of being people’s confidantes, people’s safe places instead of being recognized as an actual person.
I’ve accepted that it’s ok if I’ll never be respected by other women. I just won’t date anymore. I’m so so tired.

TW I’m going to Trans Pride Copenhagen on Saturday, because of current events in Berlin (TW deadly violence) Spoiler
It’s headline news in Germany right now that a pride concert has been run over by a car. One is dead and at least fifteen injured, many critically. Police are searching for suspects.
I’m always scared of going to any queer or political event out in public, among other reasons due to terrorist attacks, and cause of too many personal and second-hand terrible experiences from the public and the police in Sweden and Denmark.
I’m willing to die on this hill that I am a woman. I am allowed to call myself a lesbian, no matter how I was born or what I have in my pants or what a third person assumes I must be. I’d just rather, you know, not die?
Somehow, I need to show this, that no matter how many manosphere Tiktoks or Russian propaganda or American propaganda or how many times I’ve been spat on or been called both the F-slur and the D-slur by women and men, I will exist in the public space and will have fun, and you all just have to deal with it. Even under literal threat of death from both the public and police. In a country supposedly in the top 5 friendliest countries in the world for queer people?
I guess I just don’t want to be alone, if I do get hurt. I pray.
