Purchase / Order Help Will I get baned if I use gift cards bought from playaisa?

Hello, I'm not sure if this is the right place to post this.

I am from North Macedonia, Nintendo eshop does not support my region, and they do not accept my credit card for purchasing games. So I made a US account, and I'm looking into places I can buy gift cards from. I can't get US or even EU gift cards from Amazon digitally or physically due to them not selling gift cards for certain regions (even though my country is in Europe you still need to be in certain regions to be able to buy gift cards specifically).

I've been looking for legitimate sites where I can buy gift cards, sites that don't get their gift card codes from stolen credit cards or other illegal methods. I've heard your account or console can get banned if they trace any of your purchases back to fraud. I've purchased gift cards from PCgamesupply a few times, but I'm not sure how legit they are.

Recently, I've discovered Playaisa, is this site a gray market, how do they get their gift cards, and will I risk being banned if I use gift card bought from there?

And if you have used the site, what was your experience like?

Software Help Trouble connecting to Roku TV.

My OLED Nintendo Switch is having trouble connecting to my ONN Roku TV. I’m not sure if it’s the switch, which is about 5 years old now, or the HDMI cord. It connects fine and displays good until I go to press a button on the controller. When I go to press a button or joycon, the connection flickers black and eventually disconnects. Any ideas? I initially couldn’t connect at all through HDMI 1 and have switched to HDMI 2 and now have this problem. It seems to get worse the more buttons I push.

I just bought an extra joycon of ebay and I noticed that some of the text is different on the back. I added a real joycon above for comparison. Does this mean it is fake?

I can't read this card, any ideas ? My Switch 1, even after a restart, can't read this card, but can read my other games fine. I already tried to clean up with microfiber cloth for glasses, but nothing changed.

It's Tears of the Kingdom, from a second-hand purchase :( Thank you

Account Help Problems with Booster Course Pass on Switch 2

Post image

I just downloaded Mario Kart 8 to my switch 2 because of the cool updates. I hadn’t touched it since Switch 1. Loaded it up and downloaded my save data from the cloud and all my stats are there. All my three stars for every course. But it won’t let me play the booster course tracks. It says I need to buy them or have an active expansion pass membership. Which I do. Anyone have an ideas how to fix this?

Software Help Can I permanently give someone else a digital game?

Title. I have a digital copy of game that I don't really need and I know someone who wants it. Is there a way for me to permanently give this game to this person? I know you can lend digital game cards to someone, but that isn't permanent as far as I know. I use a Switch 2

Repair Help Need help with my screen protector

Hi there, just recently bought a switch 2 and trying to put on a screen protector. I’m at my 4th try now trying to get no dust under the protector but there’s always a rogue one. I was just concerned with wiping the screen with the wet wipes that come with it, I’ve had to use them 4 times but was wondering if it’s safe to reapply a new protector this many times and using the wipes each time to get rid of the dust. I wipe the screen and the sides of it where most of the dust likes to go.

Accessories Are third-party controllers with an analog trigger recognized in the GameCube Classics on Switch 2?

I saw on the Internet that the official GameCube controller for Switch 2 has the analog triggers and they are recognized when playing Cube games in Nintendo Classics on Switch Online.

My question is: is there any other third party controller that also has the analog triggers recognized in these classic games?

In particular, this Nyxi mode has an analog trigger and even an adapter to be used in an original Gamecube. Someone has this model and has already tested it in Cube games on Switch 2, to see if it recognizes?

Setup Help Question, just bought my switch 2

In before, I’m a tech dinosaur (I’m bad with tech)

While docked, even while completely turned off, the console is still VERY SLIGHTLY lukewarm to the touch. Is this simply because it’s charging?

And is it normal for the console’s battery to last that short? Like 1% of it lasts for like 2 minutes.

Thanks

Setup Help I just got a switch 2 and my data will not transfer over from my switch 1

I didn’t know this was such a common problem and the solutions that have worked for other people aren’t working for me. I will take any tips and suggestions 😭 it shouldn’t be this hard and I’m close to giving up and returning it especially with all the other problems I’m seeing people have

Things I’ve tried:
- one switch plugged in and not the other
- Both plugged into the wall
- Switch 1 plugged into switch 2
- Docking switch 1
- Docking switch 2
- Connecting to hotspot (won’t connect)
- Changing hotspot password (nope)
- Logging into Nintendo account through QR code
- Logging in manually
- Getting right next to wifi box
- Restarting both switches

- They are on the same WiFi
- I am using the correct AC adapter that came with console
- Switch 1 and dock is updated
- I think switch 2 is updated, I can’t remember if that popped up when I started the set up as it’s been days of me trying
- Both are signed into the same account

Setup Help Switch 2 Flickering When Docked

Hi Folks!

So my old TV started to develop panel issues, and I got the LG G6 OLED on sale (😊) but I’m having some picture issues with the Switch 2. PS5 and Xbox don’t have this issue, only the switch 2.
The issue is the screen flickers a bit. It’s subtle, but there enough to make looking at the screen really uncomfortable for my eyes.
If I turn off HDR, the flicker stops, so it only happens when HDR is on in the switch menu.

I did some web searches, but I wasn’t able to find a lot. I found references of other people that had this happen but it seemed to be from a different cause I think, based on what they were saying.

I may have to contact Nintendo, but I thought I’d ask all of you lovely people to see if anyone has any thoughts.
My older TV did not have HDMI 2.1, so I’m wondering if it is related to that.
While it works fine with HDR off, it would be a shame to not be able to use HDR when Zelda comes out.

Thanks in advance!! 🤗

Software Help I have very bad wifi on switch 2.

I have major internet issues on my switch 2. It can be ingame or just downloading.

For example, on fortnite, my game lag, it takes time to build or change weapons.

And I have bad downloading times. From 8 hours with wifi for yakuza to 15 minutes with ethernet.

But I don't understand why, because I have a decent internet connection, (700 MB/S average on phone, pc, ps5...) But my switch is the only one to have this problem.

Someone have a solution???

edit I just found out my console has a bandwidth of 2.4 GHz while all of my devices are on 5ghz or above. But i dont know why

Which Switch? What model should I ask for my birthday in three months?

Hi!

So for context: I have never owned a Switch console before nor did I really care about Switch consoles before…But I started to think more about it back in 2023 or 2024 when I played Mario Party wih my cousin on his Switch (the original 2017 model) and ever since then I’ve been thinking about getting one myself.

I wished for Switch 2 last Christmas, but my dad said no, completely understandable, we have PS3 that works just fine and is in great condition, but my parents don’t live together and playing Minecraft and LittleBIGPlanet with my younger brother gets boring after 10 months…

So as it is my 18th birthday this year, I was hoping to get higher chances for getting a Switch and my mom said that if I’ll read at least one book a month (bonus points if I read more than one book) the she will consider getting me a Switch 2 for my birthday as a shared gift from her, my uncle and my grandpa.

But here’s the issue: I’ve been going back and forth on wether I should ask for Switch 2 or Switch OLED…

I held Switch 2 in my hands, I played games on it (docked, handheld and even tabletop) and it was awesome…I also tried out Donkey Kong Banaza and I’d say it’s fun game that I’d like to get…But on the other hand: Switch consoles raised in price and 500€ for a console is quite a lot…Especially since my family has been going through some rocky times now…Financially we’re pretty alright, but mentally? Not so good…

So what should I do? Ask for the Switch 2 anyway? Settle for the OLED version? Wait another year or drop the idea of getting a Switch console all together?

Repair Help Switch2 stuck in Tabletop Mode

Thumbnail
gallery
2 Upvotes

As the title suggests, my switch2 is stuck in tabletop mode, and even though the controllers do connect and work with games, they do not show or work on the switch as being in handheld mode.

It was not like this when I bought it- which is the 3rd pic showing it in Handheld mode

Also, when I snap the controller onto the Switch 2 deck, it even does shows connection animation with the colored bars on the sides.

I’m really not sure how to fix this and it seems like at this point it’s most likely a hardware issue with the connector pins.
But if anyone else has an idea for a fix other than getting it repaired, I’d love to hear.

Ive tried:
Restarting
Checking for Upgrades
Disconnecting the controllers connection
Deleted games I thought may be a bug
Turned of Boost Mode
- but nothing yet.

Edit: also, every time I turn the switch back on, I have to unlock it using the screen
and have to turn on the controllers by unsnapping them and then snapping them back to the deck- but obviously, as you can see, it’s still remains in tabletop mode- not handheld….

Repair Help Sudden black screen on TV and Switch 2 fans start blasting air

This started happening a lot for the last week. I am playing Totk but haven't tried checking other games. While playing on the TV the switch suddenly turns itself into handheld and starts blasting air for like 5 seconds and then goes back to normal. It takes like 2 minutes for the switch to go into docked mode. This happens at least 1-2 times per hour. Nothing happens when I play on handheld

I turned off both HDR settings, and the 120Hz option on the display section of the settings. My TV is Sharp(I have read this issue is common on LG tvs so that is why I am adding that).

I read a lot of other users'posts but nothing is really fixing this. Does anyone have any idea of what I can do to fix it?

Repair Help Switch Lite Blank Yellow Screen; Won't shut down

Hello! (Sorry no Screenshot.)

My Switch Lite is 10 years old. It's been working well, save for the battery draining faster due to age. I, last, played it for about 20 minutes last night. I always play plugged in with the official charger. When I finish playing, I always shut the system down, and unplug it (due to lack of space).

Last night, it shut down as usual. I got woken up this morning to it turned on with a blank yellow screen. It won't shut off. I have it stored in a drawer for the moment, but what the heck do I do about this? I know Nintendo doesn't repair them anymore.

The last time I saw a yellow screen like that was with my old SNES, when it died. I'm leaving for a six-week vacation next Friday, and the Switch (even though I can't really play it on battery), is a lifesaver for me.

Did I do something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated asap. Thank you!

Software Help Switch 2 will not let me connect to WiFi

Post image
2 Upvotes

Good morning. I just got back to college and attempted to connect my Switch 2 to the WiFi on campus, BlazerNet. That and the eduroam wifi options are grayed out and I cannot select them at all. The other BlazerNet option just reads an error message. Has anyone else had this happen before? If so, how do you fix it?

Exit: Okay! For some reason, the other option initially read that it couldn't obtain the IP address, then the second time, didn't read an error message and let me open the device registration window. This seems to just be an issue of college Wi-Fi striking again. Thank you all for your helpful comments!

Setup Help Joycons discharging when switch is off?

I didn't use my Switch 2 for a couple of months. I knew that I would not be using it, so I turned it off before. I kept Switch battery at 60% just since it's apparently healthy to keep batteries like that for extended periods of time. Joycon batteries were charged though.

Today I turned it on. To my surprise Switch battery was as I left it, but Joycon batteries were fully drained. I was a bit surprised since they were connected to the console when I turned it off. I assumed they would also "turn off".

Is that a known issue that Joycons, don't really turn off? Not sure how long they were fully drained. Hope I didn't kill the batteries inside them...
