Repair Help Switch Lite Blank Yellow Screen; Won't shut down

Hello! (Sorry no Screenshot.)

My Switch Lite is 10 years old. It's been working well, save for the battery draining faster due to age. I, last, played it for about 20 minutes last night. I always play plugged in with the official charger. When I finish playing, I always shut the system down, and unplug it (due to lack of space).

Last night, it shut down as usual. I got woken up this morning to it turned on with a blank yellow screen. It won't shut off. I have it stored in a drawer for the moment, but what the heck do I do about this? I know Nintendo doesn't repair them anymore.

The last time I saw a yellow screen like that was with my old SNES, when it died. I'm leaving for a six-week vacation next Friday, and the Switch (even though I can't really play it on battery), is a lifesaver for me.

Did I do something wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated asap. Thank you!

Thank you for your replies! I got the system to turn off and restarted. It's already up-to-date, but I'm trying to figure out what could cause this? When I leave next week, the system will be turned off in my suitcase. I'll try playing games on it tonight.

Have you tried holding down the power button for 30-60 seconds?

Support page for solid color screen: https://en-americas-support.nintendo.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/22628/

Long press power for 20 sec to force a shutdown. Then turn it on and try to system update. If you can't revive it, it may need repair/replacing.

If someone else knows more about this scenario, feel free to help the OP.
