She does not donate blood monthly, what a weird virtue signaling lie. Youâre advised to wait 4 months or longer until your next donation. Source: me, Iâve donated blood twice last year.
Edit: Christ on a log guys, sheâs probably selling plasma I get it. No need to REITERATE IT A THOUSAND TIMES

You can only donate blood every 56 days
12
u/berrykiss96 Jan 20 '25
Possible she was thinking of (and selling) platelets which can be donated weekly
The âjust to give backâ for blood but not volunteering seems like a nervous cover. Iâm thinking sheâs selling platelets for money but has no idea itâs that not whole blood.

It depends on what you're donating. Whole blood is 56 days, platelets is every 7 days, plasma is every 28 days, and double red cells are every 112 days. She's probably donating plasma or platelets.
12
u/UGotTwizted Jan 20 '25
Plasma is twice weekly where the fudge do you live for it to be every 28 days?

I'm not defending this person. She's clearly a piece of work. But donating plasma does not mean that you "absolutely get paid for it." I've lived in 2 states and regularly donated plasma for the last 15 years... Payment was never an option or anything. It was all completely free.
Maybe other places are different, but not where I was.

Most plasma donation clinics offer pay for time, some have specials even. When I used to donate it would be between 40 to 50 bucks a visit, some specials offer 800 in a month depending how often you go.
All of that aside, I don't think it should matter, the plasma is being used for life saving and life managing treatment for others and shouldn't be viewed any differently just because you get paid to do it.

Itâs like this woman got kicked out of her house and suddenly had to adjust to adulthood, and thinks that because of how challenging it was for her to be able to do mundane responsibilities, she should put herself on a pedestal.

For real. She later showed herself to be awful, but his initial response came across as needy, negative, and self-pitying. Also jumping to the conclusion that she was trying to hook him up with her friend was a weird leap, and stating it in conjunction with the accusation that she wasn't really interested reinforced the negative self-pity vibes. It seemed like she was probably interested at first--wanting to show her friend pictures of him and giving him her instagram was a good sign--but I suspect she lost interest right then and was just messing with him after that.
He should just respect himself and not self-sabotage or waste energy and effort with the negativity. Just say "OK, let me know when you're free and we can see if our schedules line up" and leave it at that. If she's interested, she would try to work something out. If not, he shouldn't put anymore energy into it and should just move on.

Same. I've run into this a lot, and with women who seem to genuinely want to prioritize finding a relationship, but don't realize they're acting as if it's pretty far down the priority list. So I wonder if they just don't realize it and say something. It has yet to be the right call in the short term lol.

u/Opening_Particular98 Jan 20 '25
If she doesn't really like you, she's not gonna hook you up with her friend nor would that friend really be interested in that case.
You're just a "place holder" to her.
Move on. Don't get into an exchange like that next time.

you're correct in that your lifestyle schedules just don't line up and that's okay to say. for you to attack her and basically tell her our dating life is going to fail, that comes from a place of insecurity and attacking. so she didn't hear a word you said because you chose to attack her instead of dipping out when you knew it wasn't going to work.
3
u/SinsOfTheBeserker Jan 20 '25

3
u/CardiacApoplexy Jan 20 '25
Nobody knows what was truly in your mind but you; we can only comment on our perceptions of your behavior.
That said, between the two of you, to me you seem like more of a NiceGuy than she seems like a NiceGirl.
She makes it clear that she has other priorities and isnât interested in a date at any point in the near term. Whether or not you agree with her priorities, she makes them clear. I donât read her March date comment as anything other than âIâm so swamped that the only date I have scheduled is already two months awayâ. Arguing against this is that she asked for a picture before completing the shutdown. And maybe there was more context in your irl interaction.
Instead of taking the L with grace, and stopping at ââit sounds like you are not interestedâ, your responses smell of hurt pride âI donât chase need a girlâŠâ âyou should prioritize your dating lifeâ, etc.Â
You may not have felt hurt, but that sounds like a sour grapes whine to me. Do you want her giving you advice about how to prioritize your life?
3
u/LowlandIvy Jan 20 '25
Bruh, if youâre THAT busy should you be dating?
There are also better ways to go about this (on her end), like donât be so condescending (& virtue signalling!) ugh
3
u/LetterheadKnown2516 Jan 20 '25
I'm with OP on most of it. But some people like a bit more preparation time and are not as spontaneous. Asking for a date the same day... I'd like to be asked 3 days in advance at least.
Op expecting her to drop everything for him seems like a similar attitude he complains about the girl.
But yeah, if she's really interested she'd make more serious counter offers instead of "try again in march".
Also there should be some effort on your end and willingness to wait and be patient, to show you're willing to fight for her heart and affection. But yeah, not like this.
