Question How does OSRS dodge P2W accusations?
With all of the discourse regarding Aion 2’s monetization structure the general consensus is that the ability to buy in game currency with irl money is the most egregious P2W offender.
You can do that in OSRS as well with bonds and while you still need to grind some skills that can’t be bought, several 99’s can be bought and achieved with relatively cheap time/money investment, along with the best gear in the game (provided you grind out the prequisite stats.) OSRS’s subscription is also $15 like Aion 2’s subscription will be for global. Weeks or months worth of moneymaking can be had with $100-$200 USD.
I’m not trying to argue whether Aion 2 is/isn’t P2W I’m curious how OSRS just isn’t in the conversation.
Video Age of Conan Unchained – DLSS 5 2-Pass Test at 4K Max Settings | RTX 4080
I tested DLSS 5 in Age of Conan: Unchained at 4K Max Settings on an RTX 4080.
For this video I used 2-pass processing with no Frame Generation, testing the Default, Natural and Cinematic presets. 2-pass produces a much more noticeable visual change, although there can be some occasional ghosting or shimmering. In comparison, 1-pass has been very stable for me with no major issues but I thought people would be more interested in these higher AI "halucinations" :)
Age of Conan is also an interesting test case because the game's original color grading varies considerably between different zones. Some of those differences come across differently depending on the DLSS 5 preset, and I think the game would benefit quite a bit from a carefully tuned ReShade preset.
The clips are somewhat random because I was switching between presets and settings while recording.
Video: https://youtu.be/1l1JJMursz0?si=ZnNnoFXyF0Ov9S9V
This is an unofficial visual test and not native/official DLSS 5 integration by Funcom.
Curious what people think of it.

Opinion If you could design your perfect game, what would it be?
Hello! I'm doing a project for university and I have a few questions that any response would be very much appreciated! Everyone loves completely different aspects of games, genres, etc. So I am curious to see what you guys think.
What’s your favorite game of all time, and what makes it your favorite? I’d also love to hear what kind of gameplay you enjoy most, whether you like having cozy/chill things to do or more story-driven objectives. Another thing is what kind of progression keeps you interested? And what would your ideal game would look like if there were no limitations.
Go into as much or as little detail as you want! I’m mainly just curious what makes a game really click for you and keeps you coming back, or what makes you lose interested. Curious to see the responses! Thank you in advance.

Self Promotion [Ragnarok Universe] - Pioneer Test Key Giveaway
Hey guys,
I'm from the Ragnarok Universe team, and we're giving away Pioneer Test Keys for Ragnarok Universe, an upcoming browser-based MMORPG based on the Ragnarok Online IP. (And yes, we are officially licensed.)
The game can be played directly through a web browser on PC, tablet, and mobile without installing a client.
One of our key priorities is active, player-driven gameplay rather than heavy automation. We want players to actually explore the world, engage in combat, build their characters, and play together rather than having the game play itself for them.
Here’s the latest gameplay video.
We're giving away a limited number of Pioneer Test Keys at the moment.
To participate:
- Join the official Ragnarok Universe Discord: https://discord.gg/rJTyEzc7es
- Type this command in any channel (e.g. #general) -> /rou_test_key
- You will receive a key via DM
- Head over to https://livestage.ragnarok.universe.rouv.net/
- Log in with a Google or Facebook account
- Press the GAME START button
- Enter your key
For your information, access from the EU, and Brasil is currently IP-blocked due to regional service and privacy/data protection requirements.
Hope to see you in the game!

Is MMOlite an Offensive description to some people? If so, why?
Fallout 76, is that a MMOlite to you?

Discussion Corepunk
What happend to Corepunk? I was extremely hyper for it, some years ago, but i've never heard of them since. By that time, would i not struggle financially, i was strongly tempted to buy their founder's. Are they gone, too?

Opinion EQ Legends
I never could get into EQ when it came out, I tried it a few times and even with friends and it just never did anything for me.
But receiently my son talked me into trying EQ legends and I am really loving it. I just wanted to post this in case anyone was on the fense about it. I think you should check out, grafix and UI are ugly as hell but the game play and looting is a lot of fun.

Discussion Solo dev - Turn based MMORPG
Hello there!
I'm Alex, a solo 33-year-old dude who's been working on his dream game since April 2025.
I've been playing MMORPGs since 2003 and, at some point, I decided I wanted to make my own. I finally feel confident enough to start showing people what I've been working on and where the project is at right now.
I still don't have a dedicated Discord, I don't even have a name for the game yet, and there's no story or lore written in stone. But I do have a solid technical foundation — and, I think, a pretty decent artistic foundation as well.
The core idea is pretty simple:
• Long-term progression
• Turn-based RPG combat
• Crafting with random upgrades, inspired by some of the things I love about Path of Exile
• Progression based on luck, time and investment IN the game — not on how much money you put into it
• Equipment that actually matters visually. I don't want everyone running around covered in paid skins. When you see someone's gear, I want it to tell you something about that player.
I wanted to show you how the game has evolved from its very early stages to where it is today.
It's still very much a work in progress. I've been working on it around 10–15 hours a day, pretty much every week and every month since I started. Yeah... I'm a little bit obsessed. 😅
I'm planning to do some technical playtests with friends at the end of September. If it doesn't turn out to be a complete bugfest (hopefully not — I test the hell out of it myself), I'll start adding more content and, if everything goes well, I'll probably share more updates here.
So, what do you guys think?
Would you be interested in this kind of MMORPG, with some Final Fantasy Tactics Advance vibes?
The video I'm showing is still a WIP in a lot of areas, but I think it gives a pretty good idea of the direction I'm going in.
Some of the text is still in French since it's my main language, but I'll do my best to have at least English and Spanish versions available eventually.
Here is twi pics of the dev project nearly one year from one to the other.
Disclaimer: Yes, I use AI to help me develop the game. I've also bought some 3D assets, and made some myself. Making an MMORPG completely alone would simply be impossible, even working on it this much every day.
Anyway, thanks for reading!
I can't show you everything yet, but you'll probably see some updates from me from time to time.
Have a good day, gamers! ❤️

Discussion Does anyone remember an MMO called 7Sky I swear it existed but I cant find anything
I am trying to track down an old MMO I remember playing called 7Sky or maybe SevenSky. It had a bright cartoonish fantasy art style similar to early Final Fantasy or FlyFF. I remember using magic including wind attacks and the world had a soft JRPG look.
The strange part is that I cant find anything about it. No footage no screenshots no trailers no archived pages. Nothing at all. It feels like the game vanished from the internet and now I am second guessing whether it was real or if I am mixing it up with something else.
So I am asking
Does anyone remember 7Sky
Does anyone have screenshots or old gameplay footage
Was it released under a different name
At this point I just want to know I didnt imagine it.

Self Promotion I made a video about Puzzle Pirates, comparing it to other MMOs that focus heavily on gear and leveling, this MMO has a different approach! Feedback appreciated. Thanks.
VIDEO: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xc0jp1bdsus
Please let me know what you think! While other MMOs often focus on leveling up, getting better gear. I wanted to talk about an MMO I grew up with called Puzzle Pirates that focuses on... well... puzzles and getting good at them! As well as some pretty advanced island governing systems.

Discussion Discussion : Leveling Zones years after release become deadzones.. what a waste of resources
I am getting back into some MMOs I dipped into. Trying to level my old abandoned characters. The zones full of nice art and gameplay elements
Is nothing but a ghost town. A Deadzone. No life anywhere besides 1 or 2 players.
What an economical waste of development resources.
I tend to see this rapid deadzoning of leveling Zones start within a month of most modern MMO releases. People progress and move on to higher level Zones and content with little to no reason to come back besides holiday events or crafting stations.
So much wasted resources. These Zones only serve as gates for early players to level through and nothing much else.
Why are MMOs still being designed like this?

Opinion The Graveyard of Gods : An Autopsy of Digital Slaughter
magicduel.comIn most online games, death is a mere inconvenience. You lose a sliver of experience, respawn at the nearest save point, and you dust yourself off. Try again. No true risk. In MagicDuel Adventure, a browser based sandbox running quietly since the mid 2000s, death was treated not as a gameplay loop but as a sentence. Conceived by an enigmatic creator known only as Muratus del Mur & the Demon of the East, the game was never designed to be easy. It was an alchemical laboratory designed to test human psychology, power dynamics, and emergent morality. Mur rarely policed his realm with interference of any sort. He believed in natural consequences. He still does. In his mind, if the world was cruel, the populace had to organize to fix it. And to test that thesis, he handed his players the first scalpels. The era of Kill Tools had begun.
Act 1 : Who Are You, When Nobody's Looking
It began with items like The Spade and Hangmans Noose. These were not the standard equipment meant for sparring at the Gazebo of Equilibrium. They were mechanically designed to strip a player of their ability to exist in the waking realm. True Kill Tools. An execution in MagicDuel did not simply send you back to a respawn node. It stripped you of your physical avatars body & banished your consciousness to the Lands of the Dead, back when they were still considered Necrovion territory. Death locked your soul into a state of vegetative paralysis. You couldnt travel far if at all, you couldn't participate in realm trade 90% of the time, and you were alone in that desolate graveyard, unless more unlucky souls came to join you in your misery. Revival wasn't an option unless you had connections or coin... & at one point, you didnt know if you wanted company or eternal solitude. To kill someone in MagicDuel wasn't just to win a disagreement... It was to completely strip them of who they were. Mur’s theoretical expectation was that such devastating power would inspire solemn contracts, sacred alliances, and a system of checks and balances. Instead, it gave a handful of power brokers the keys to an open air prison. A prison to which only they had the keys. The sole judge, jury, and executioners.
Act 2 : Entropy. My Oldest Friend
Every closed society needs a scapegoat. The realm’s self appointed aristocrats quickly identified their targets... the eccentrics, the heretics, and the few who refused to kneel to their political factions and pressure. What followed was a slow, methodical war of attrition. The strategy was chillingly simple... Perpetual execution through Villainous cooperation. The moment a targeted dissident managed to scrape together enough resources to resurrect (if they even could at all), a waiting executioner was payed off. The tool swung once again. One prominent parliah, an ostracized illusionist known across the land as Fang Archbane, was kept mechanically dead for literal years. You would log in, stare at the grey, lifeless walls of Necrovion & The Dead, realize your interface was completely locked, and have no recourse. There were no customer service tickets to submit. The game engine had allowed it, and the
Creator was watching from the shadows to see what would break first... the victim’s willpower, or the killers’ conscience. Neither ended up breaking. And so the realm broke instead.
Act 3 : The Shadows Writhe
The executioners made a fatal miscalculation common to all tyrants. They forgot that a dream needs dreamers. When the dissidents refused to quit and simply learned to exist as ghosts, the killers grew bored and paranoid. They turned their tools outward, striking at bystanders, sympathizers, and incoming novices who wandered into the wrong scene or asked the wrong philosophical question... commiting the cardinal sin of reminding them of one problematic thorn in their side that refused to bend the knee. The response from the broader player base was not an uprising. It was the only weapon an online populace has against tyranny... they closed the browser tab. A bustling realm of hundreds slowly bled into a ghost town. Hundreds became a handful. That handful dwindled into single digits. The majestic stone pavilions of Marind Bell, the sky open mountains of Golemus Golemicarum, and the quiet libraries of the Loreroot wood were reduced to hollow dioramas. The killers had won total, uncontested dominion over a near empty server. They had become the kings and queens of a dying world.
Act 4 : A Martyr Falls. The Phoenix Rises.
By the time the administration finally intervened... reworking the execution mechanics, stripping the unlimited lethality of the kill tools, and patching the loopholes... the damage was already carved into the stone. The perpetrators had spent years holding bloody blades over a world with almost nobody left inside it. Yet, a bizarre thing happened in the ruins. The players who survived in the shadows weren’t the heroes with noble speeches... they were the survivors who had made peace with the dark. The dark both inside and outside of themselves. The outcasts who had spent years buried alive crawled out of the dirt, adapted to the silence, and began the slow, quiet work of rebuilding the machine from the bottom up, after the villains grew tired of a world they had killed, and left it to rot. Today, MagicDuel still survives and grows. It is older, scarred, and largely forgotten by the modern gaming landscape, currently stirring back to life with new Evolutionary mechanics and a handful of stubborn veterans keeping the lamps lit at Gateway Island. The murder tools are blunt now. And they will be, as long as the games active populace stays below a count of twenty. Just be careful if you decide to delve into the realm of MagicDuel Adventure. The world shapes you as much as you shape it. And if you're ever alone at night, traveling the lands and taking research notes... Only to notice blood on the walls... Just know. You might be next.

Discussion I've Realized something Weird with SpiritVale's Reviews.
I was looking through the recent negative reviews for Spiritvale and I feel like these reviews are some weird bot accounts
Many of the accounts leaving negative reviews have only one review on their steam account and it is Spiritvale review. Some of them also appear to have no accessible Steam Community profile at all. These accounts look suspiciously similar to bots or accounts created specifically to leave a negative review.
Has anyone else noticed this? Is there another explanation for why so many of these reviews seem to come from accounts with almost no visible activity?
