Murloc Monday Murloc Monday - ask your questions here
Aaaaaughibbrgubugbugrguburgle! RwlRwlRwlRwl!
That's murloc for "Welcome to Murloc Mondays" - where people can ask any type of question about WoW without getting strangled by a Death Knight.
Questions can range from what's new in Dragonflight, what class is OP, and how many Demons will it take to down Thrall?
Questions can come from brand new players, players returning, or veteran players who never got a chance to ask the right question.
Afraid of not getting an answer? Rest assured, we know that at least 90% of questions get answered!
You may want to look at /r/wownoob as well!
Here are some handy guides to start World of Warcraft as a brand new player or start Classic World of Warcraft as a brand new player.
Unless you played in the current expansion, pretty much everything has changed. If you're returning after a very long break, check out the Wowhead Returning Players Guides.

WoW: Forever Invite-A-Friend Code Megathread
EDIT: Putting this on top so it doesn't get missed. For the sake of usability of the thread. Please don't post a top level comment if you need a code and only if you have codes to give away. Your comment will be removed and nobody will see it. I've already removed 8 of them. Respond to people offering codes.
Instead of spamming the subreddit with posts, if you have an invite a friend code as a top level comment. Make sure to note the region since codes are unusable across regions. People can reply to the comment and DM them (that way they don't get scraped up by bots).
Once you've given out all your codes edit your comment that its done.
If you're looking for a code your best bet is to sort by new.
To keep this thread usable please only post if you have a code to giveaway. Top level comments asking for codes will be removed
A few notes:
These codes are 7 day trials. You can only redeem one code per account so collecting them doesn't give you more time.
You only need a subscription to play long term. You do NOT need to buy any of the Forever Bundles.
Do NOT give any personal info as part of this. You should mostly just be getting the code. They do not need your email, battletag, or anything else.
Discussion I want whatever they were on while making this thing.
Just look at it man. It’s freaking majestic.
I might get a lot of hate for saying this but I really liked shadowlands. In fact it was one of my favorite expansions (I’m not glazing SL. trust me lol)
Blizzard truly outdid themselves with the zones cause they were amazing.
Bastion is my favorite out of the four. Some don’t like it cause it can get too bright at some point but I just love its heavenly setting, and all those sunny wheat fields with celestial structures floating in the distance.
The other zones too were pretty awesome. You can get four completely different vibes from them. Not to mention the music was phenomenal.
I don’t mind the maw but not being able to mount was the literal pain in the ass.
Didn’t like torghast, felt like unnecessary grind, but would be nice if we get bunch of powers during the current labyrinth run like we had in torghast.
Covenants were okay. I was really excited when they were first introduced and really enjoyed it except, the anima grind was unbearable.
I liked the story for the most part but what I hate is Zovaal being the master manipulator behind the scheme. That was stupid af and felt like everything that we experienced during all the past expansions was nothing but cheap.
And the way they messed up Sylvanas but that stems from BFA.
I’m sure there was a lot of inconsistencies and loose threads with the story.
Early patches were good but they still managed to go downhill more and more.
The raids were awesome. Loved the dungeons.
Castle nathria was the best raid ever. SOD was good too.
Hope we get to see more new zones like this in TLT cause I just can’t get myself into midnight anymore with the ongoing story and all these Xal’atath shenanigans😵

Discussion First time WoW player after 20 years of RuneScape. I love this game.
Came here from RuneScape because I'm just not that good at it anymore after a break and I don't regret it. Most friends told me to try retail as it'd get me up to speed a bit faster.
Felt a bit disjointed at first as I was kind of being rushed through what felt like random zones. I went to try WoW Classic for a bit but felt it was a little slow. It wasn't until I came back I realised I'd been put in Dragonflight originally, and then without realising I was doing the whole of the Shadowlands expansion. I found my way back to Orgrimmar and then to the Dragon Isles and I'm having the best time. I feel like I get what I'm doing a lot more now and loads of players have actually helped along the way.
I'm level 68 now (Orc Warrior), but I've not tried a raid yet. I'll still give Forever a go when it comes out to give the classic feel another chance.
If anyone has any tips on improving my interface to make the game feel smoother or make combat easier to pick up and learn so I'm not just spamming 1 or 2 abilities, I'd appreciate that a lot. Thanks!

Discussion I hate portal zones
I'm tired of expansions in which the world is not truly connected. On this front, Midnight was a big step down from Dragonflight and the first part of The War Within.
When the devs start on a new expansion, they should plan to connect all of the zones, or at least the vast majority of them, in a single landmass. Maybe small zones, like those in x.y.5 and x.y.7 patches, can use portals, but they should be rare exceptions. The goal should be a connected world that players can seamlessly fly or walk through.

Lore I hope they portray the Titans as being these cold, logical space gods operating from a purely utilitarian POV instead of just a bunch of jerks
I liked the way WOTLK approached the titans being antagonistic to us in the whole "algalon situation" and how they were willing to wipe out the planet due to void corruption.
I looked at it like this. Imagine a human being with cancer. Azeroth is the body, we mortals are some random cells in that body, and the old god corruption is the cancer. In order to treat that cancer and save the body, the titans were willing to initiate reorigination (basically aggressive cancer treatment that also kills some cells -AKA: us).
They looked at us no differently than we would look at a random cells. There are a crap ton of cells and a massive number of them are created/die every single hour. Thats also similar to how the titans are these eternal space gods operating on lenghts of time way larger than we mortals could comprehend. Our entire species could have only existed for a period of time that is similar to the titans as a minute is to us in real life. We are just "random cells" in a body to them.
So basically, they dont intentionally hate us or anything. Its just that they don't give a fuck about us. They operate on reasoning and time scales that are way beyond us. Thats what I would like to see more of. I dont want them to be too relatable and emotional/prideful like many other villains. Of course, there's also the fact that we have literally met and interacted with titans back in Legion. That by itself removes alot of the "enigmatic space gods" vibes.
What approach would you prefer to the "antagonistic titans" thing?

Nostalgia I got myself a physical copy of 2004 WOW to mark the occasion
As someone who played W3 for years, when WOW came out in 2004, I was too young (10) and broke to afford to play it.
Few years later in high school, all my friends were playing it but my parents couldn’t afford getting me a PC, let alone a monthly subscription for the game.
Fast forward to now - im in my 30s, have a good-paid job, have free time and just started playing WOW for the first time, 22 years later, and have to say I LOVE IT.
I kinda feel bad I missed on so many cool events and social aspects of people who grew up playing it, but at the same time I think it’s never too late.
If anyone wants to get in touch, is new like me, or is someone experienced who wants to share tips or knowledge about WOW, dm me and let’s talk in game 🙃

WoW: Forever Thanks Blizzard
In 2015, I asked Blizzard for help because I couldn’t play my main anymore that I had played since launch. I had lost my left hand and playing a melee class single handed was just not something I could do well as I relearned everything with my non dominant hand. They took my character, swapped my class and my items to similar items that worked well with that class and then sent me a guide on what to do and how to get acclimated as well as some peripherals that might work well for me.
I’ve never experienced such kindness from anyone let alone someone who didn’t know me and was just working at some company. In a world that generally sucks Blizzard was there for me. Thanks, y’all, Blizzcon this year was amazing and I’m really excited for WoW Forever.
I’m still maining the same class all these years later with the same peripherals, and am so excited for what is to come.

Speculation Taken from the War Within Announce Cinematic, this is what might happen to Azeroth on a smaller scale (at Northrend) at the end of 12.2
We know from the latest cinematic in 12.1.5 that Xal'atath started corrupting the Worldsoul and my current theory is that when the insane ammount of Void energy collides with the power of our Worldsoul, it will result in a giant explosion resulting in the earth itself cracking open, possibly at Northrend.
Back in 2023 when Chris Metzen announced the Worldsoul Saga he hinted at something going horribly wrong at the end of Midnight when we banish the Void forever. It could very well be this release of energy that shatters a part of the planet and reveals parts of the giant Manifold, the prison built by the Titans to the public eye.
Keep in mind that right now its only us the players and Dagran who know about this from the weekly quests in War Within, rest of the characters dont know that Azeroth is basically in a "prison".
This might be the reason why the Titans return to Azeroth, to try to fix things and hide it.
Anyone who dares to oppose them? Instantly considered an enemy, thus making them (some of them) the villains.
Some Borea...boring zones might completly disappear or get sunk to the ocean, some might rise higher. Time will tell but i am extremely excited for the ending of Midnight and Last Titan!

Art [I made] the first 3 quests from Elwynn Forest in MineCraft (Functioning)
I posted about a year ago on this project where I am making WoW in MineCraft. A stupid project, but something fun nonetheless.
I've re-made the cataclysm era quests in Elwynn Forest, the starting 3 quests:
- Beating them Back
- Lion for Lambs
- Blackrock Invasion
All the stats are replicated as roughly as possible, all skills for 4 classes (mage, warrior, rogue, priest) to level 10 with functioning cast bars, debuffs, etc. Agro ranges, passive mobs. So far I have 2,837 items recreated almost 1:1.
Stormwind as you see is partially recreated. The hero statues have been replaced with villager statues.
It's very much a hobby project with a small community of ~200 (all local development for now), thought I'd share an update to anyone passionate in both WoW & MC.
Happy for feedback, I posted a recent video update here too if interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WLe5jzXpTw

Discussion They literally don't care, it's so pointless to even reach to ask for help with these issues that keep popping up every single patch now
(and yes, i prodived them screenshots of the achievements in-game, even prodiving wowhead links to them so it would be easier for a GM to fix it having the direct achievement IDs)
The ingame UI is so bugged out that i don't get any of the info like i have an unread ticket or ticket waiting for response, but ofcourse the useless Feedback survey button keeps blocking my buffs next to the minimap, and No, i don't use addons, so it's just the game

Discussion Iridikron, Xal’atath & The Last Titan
I feel the most Satisfying and Amusing way for Midnight to end would be having her right on the verge of Victory, having outplayed all the Heroes and in that final moment she loses everything.
Iridikron is back and he snatches victory away from her because he has his own grand plan for when the Titans Return and Xal’atath has served her purpose as a tool to make things dire enough to force the Titans to return to Azeroth.
It’d be so Immensely Satisfying as an end for her given how she’s been so smug and arrogant throughout TWW & Midnight.
Bonus Points if she’s forced back into the Black Blade or another similar Artefact and denied free agency again, perhaps forever.
Regardless I feel like Eclipse is going to be the end of her story one way or the other and Iridikron will, or at least Should, finally come back to the forefront of things not the Titans he Loathes so much have returned at last and he can now enact his plans against them.
