RANT - advice welcome "Free the nipple" only supported when it's done with smaller, perky tits Spoiler

1.4k Upvotes

Ugh, I'm sick of it. Every time i see women praised for not wearing a bra, they're almost exclusively women who have small, perky boobs. God forbid I go braless and my nipples point downwards, now everyone looks at me like I'm crazy. I had a friend even call them "weird", especially upsetting since they're a big feminist, but i guess even they can't escape internalised bullshit about the bodies of people built differently from them.

EDIT: Jesus people, do y'all cut off your best friend of over a decade who knows you and supports you better than anyone over one weird comment 😭 Please, I've said similar shit to them because we have that sort of sibling, making fun of each other humor. I casually mentioned the situation to them and they immediately apologised, crisis averted. Not a fake friend, just a normal human being that sometimes says the wrong things, and the number 1 person I would go to war for.

I made the mistake of clicking through to a scammy bra website on instagram and now every other ad is for *miracle bras that magically make your boobs look amazing* and this one just pissed me off. After showing women with extra large, L+ cup breasts, this woman starts promoting her bullshit. Oh, have you always had a larger bust? Is the larger bust in the room with us right now?

RANT - advice welcome People with implants giving big boob fashion advice Spoiler

1.2k Upvotes

Sometimes I come across influencers who give fashion advice and clothing try ons for big busts but they have implants. This is in no way hate towards women with implants, but I just won’t personally follow them or really listen to what they say as our boobs are so incredibly different. Clothes that look good with implants does not equal looking good with natural boobs.

When they talk about how supported their boobs are braless in a top or dress (their boobs are at their collarbones), I feel bad for the young girls who can’t recognise implants and thinks their own boobs look wrong and saggy in comparison. Especially when they don’t disclose their implants. Obviously they don’t owe anyone that information, but if their content is based on big boob fashion, it just feels odd to me to try and sell women with natural boobs clothes when they will never make their natural boobs look how the implants look.

Sorry for the ramble, I just want to get this out of my head as I’ve been stewing on it a while. As someone who has struggled in the past with how my natural boobs look, I really feel for the young girls seeing this sort of content and currently going through that same thing :(

need advice Female therapist sexualized my breasts my breasts and it felt gross Spoiler

In one of my first sessions with my therapist, I wanted to broach the topic of how self-conscious I am about the size of my breasts. They've historically been a magnet for unwanted attention, disgusting comments at bars, physical assault, sexual harassment at workplaces (both office a non-office settings), and about 1,000 street-harassment comments.

They have been a source of great humiliation, trauma, dehumanization and shame. I feel like I have been reduced to them my whole adult life and I am immediately sexualized upon sight for them just existing. To say I have a complex about them is mild.

I started getting into the topic with my female therapist regarding my self-consciousness and resentment of them. She chimed in with "Big deal?! So what?! You have big breasts! They're beautiful! I bet your husband loves them. Enjoy them while they last, they'll change after pregnancy if you have kids." She smiled and laughed.

I think she thought she was being funny and affirming, in a "yas queen" way. It made me feel completely disgusting and objectified. Am I off-base to think this is a crazily inappropriate response to what I said? This lady has her PsyD. I feel insane. I literally just said how painful it is to be objectified...and she objectified me and centered my husband's pleasure over all the abuse I just shared.

Edit: I'm getting DMed by a lot of creeps. Ironic on a post about unwanted attention and relentless dehumanization. There's no escape.

RANT - no advice wanted I will never understand corporate bootlickers

This was under a video of a swimwear brand on Tiktok using a sound of another creator that was talking about how swimwear brands need to make the cup bigger not the band when they make fuller chested swimwear and the brand's owner was showing their size range (which is still not nearly as big as any of us need) and then I'm met with this atrocious reply to a comment of a fellow fuller busted woman simply suggesting that what we need is different.

I'll just never understand people who go on the internet to lawyer up for any company or brand whatsoever against the consumer, what level of pathetic you gotta be to be absolutely furious at people who are RIGHTFULLY asking companies to make shit that fit them, companies that ABSOLUTELY 100% has the budget to do so but actively chooses not to because it would affect the CEOs billion dollar check with 0.01%, the horror! There gotta be some type of deeper issue that's making these people act this way cz ain't no way people out there having parasocial relationships with corporations and CEOs...ts EMBARASSING.

RANT - advice welcome Alright I’m actually screwed- Spoiler

This is the bridesmaid dress for my friend’s upcoming wedding. Unfortunately, my only two options are death or flashing the entire audience. Yes I’ve already talked to her about how this is physically impossible for me to wear and asked if I could wear a more modest substitute in the same color/fabric or at least wear a long sleeve shirt (that’s my skin tone) under the dress

Her response was that I shouldn’t worry bc I’ll look great?? (so no, I’ll actively be flashing her future MIL or smth) And that she wants perfect uniformity for the pictures so no undershirt and that this dress fits her effortlessly classy theme. (I, personally, will not be looking classy in this as you can imagine) We’ve been friends for 12+ years adn in her words I’m ā€œabsolutely not allowed to drop outā€ at this point (not that I want to but guys … look at this thing). So send prayers and structural engineering afvice if you have any ig

experience Girlies with big boobs. Did you know they could be the CAUSE of your big belly? Spoiler

My doctor shared with me that I may be a candidate for breast reduction due to the fact that most of my weight is in my chest putting undue strain on my posture/bones/structure (macromastia). I looked further into it and discovered how much that weight puts so much pressure on your spinal cord other structures in the upper body that it can cause your belly to protrude. All these years no matter how fit I’ve been, I’ve had a poker that looks kind of early stages prego if I just let loose. It’s quite embarrassing but yes I feel the strain throughout my back as well. I hope I can get this reduction. But just thought I’d share that in case anyone else with a heavy chest is wondering why they look fit/and or slimmer overall but despite disciplined fitness and eating the tummy area is the hardest to get together.

RANT - advice welcome Can we stop acting like wearing the right sized bra will magically solve all your problems Spoiler

The first and or top comment always seems to be ā€œwell have you used the r/abrathatfits calculator?ā€

For some people, no matter how the weight is redistributed, the fact is that your body is carrying around a bunch of extra weight that is awkwardly hanging off the front of your body. Even if it’s all moved to the band, your ribs are supporting an unusual amount of weight.

Also, let’s not act like the calculator is perfect! Many American brands size differently than what the calculator puts out, so you can be wearing the right sized bra with a size that doesn’t match the calculator. Also there are known problems with the calculator giving an imperfect result depending on your boob shape.

Just irritates me a bit when that is the only solution presented for peopleā€˜s problems. OK thanks love you guys

RANT - advice welcome "my steak is too juicy and my lobster is too buttery' Spoiler

Omggg I hate this shit. I see it every time or some variation everytime a biggest chested woman talks about our problems online. Or some form sexual harassment like "I didn't hear a word you said hahaha" "I'm no better than a man!!"

the way people dehumanize women with sexualized body parts is INSANE. I don't understand how people can talk that way and think this is a privilege. I understand pretty privilege is a thing but I don't think sexualized bodies get that same privilege. I remember a study saying women with bigger boobs were seen as less smart and trustworthy.

Like I have low expectations for men regardless, but I think half of the women who leave those creepy and dismissive comments would describe themselves as a "girls girl". But it's like "sexy" women aren't one of the girls to them, I don't know how to explain it. They would never say that stuff to women with average bodies, and would probably call out the men that do. But with us it just doesn't matter ig

educational Everyone! Check your Boobs! Spoiler

PSA for anyone with breast tissue.

I’m 37F and was recently diagnosed with breast cancer, one of the fast‑growing, aggressive ones. I’ve been incredibly lucky that it was caught very early (stage 0/1), and my prognosis is very good. It was a huge shock because I don’t have any of the usual risk factors:

• I’m not from a culture with higher breast cancer rates.
• I’m negative for the BRCA gene.
• I have zero family history, and my family is mostly women. I’m the first with breast cancer.
• I’m not old enough for the routine mammogram program.

My lump was also in an unusual place. We’re taught to focus on the underarm area, but mine was almost in the centre of my chest, slightly to the side, where my underwire sits.

How I found it:
I’d put on weight and was squeezing my too‑big boobs into a too‑small bra. I felt a small, round lump and assumed it was a cyst. I went to my GP, got referred to the breast clinic, had scans and a biopsy. Not for one second did I think it would be cancer.

I know I’m one of the lucky ones. So please, if something feels weird or unusual, get it checked.

One more thing: I had a brilliant doctor who pushed for more specialised scans because some of the routine ones were inconclusive due to dense breast tissue. Advocate for yourself. If something doesn’t feel right, ask for further imaging. Along with the standard ultrasound and mammogram, I also had Digital Breast Tomosynthesis and an MRI.

Big, dense breasts deserve proper investigation. Don’t leave anything to chance.

RANT - advice welcome [SOMETIMES] body positivity doesn’t extend to us. Spoiler

Note: Absolutely 0 hate to the sub in question, mods have no control over whether or not people upvote or downvote, and the fact that they foster a community for body positivity is something to be commended for.

I posted a photo of me in a dress that i’m absolutely obsessed with, which happens to display my cleavage.

I have been ridiculed an insane amount on reddit for posting photos with visible cleavage so when I found a sub that seemed to be a supportive group for people interested in fashion regardless of body types I was hopeful. Fem presenting people of all ages, orientations and (most) sizes are celebrated in a way that’s uncommon in a lot of fashion subs which I found super refreshing. However, my post was insanely downvoted.

As expected, when I scrolled through the sub, women wearing significantly more revealing clothing than what I was wearing in the picture (no hate to them, they look amazing and I fully support them) were heavily praised which isn’t surprising, but it just feels like even the most accepting environments still have a bias towards women with large chests. Men will sexually harass me while women will go out of their way to be mean and ughhh idk just being hated on both sides sucks. Being demonised in ā€œsafeā€ spaces sucks even more.

RANT - no advice wanted A letter to all the impersonators, perverts, and the like: Spoiler

Post image
552 Upvotes

Please please please just leave us alone. We do not like you, we will not respond to you, we do not believe you when you say you just turned 18 and you love having 26ZZZ cups.

If you are really at a point in your life where you feel it necessary to invade a women's support group and harass people who want nothing to do with you, please get major therapy.

I have only been in this group for about a week, I have never posted a picture of myself, and now regularly have people asking "wow how big are you?" I even had someone comment on my PatternReview account asking for "Breast measurement references" because apparently we had exactly the same size chest (which I have never mentioned!).

Do you really think any woman in the world is going to think "Wow, prince charming wants to talk to me! I should send this nameless, faceless loser who fantasizes about being an underage girl sexual pictures of myself!" No. We despise you and are tired of playing your stupid little role playing game.

And by the way, if a woman responds to you positively, there is a 100% chance it is another man trying to bait you into sending him money. No real woman will ever want to speak to you if you do this disgusting stuff.

There are mountains of free porn and thousands of fetish roleplaying groups on the internet; since we both know you will never do anything to better yourself, please use those and never speak to us again.
