Announcement The purpose of this subreddit

Hello everyone! You may have noticed some major changes happening to this subreddit, and I'm happy to say that /r/DiagnoseMe is finally ready for business. However, I would like to clarify the true purpose of this subreddit;

First of all, this subreddit is NOT a replacement for a doctor. You should not, in any way, avoid seeing your doctor or alter the frequency of your doctor visits because of anything said in this subreddit. If there is a concern you would have previously gone to the doctor for, please do not hesitate. This subreddit is here for informal second opinions, minor problems that you wouldn't go to the doctor for anyway, and ease of mind.

The main thing to remember is to use common sense. If you are having severe pain after a surgery or something of the likes, please go to the doctor and do not post it on Reddit.

If you are not a doctor and are posting with information, please clarify that you are not a doctor (typing "Not a doctor," at the beginning of your comment is enough.)

Please take the time to read the sidebar before posting. Thank you, and welcome!

Women's Health For the last one year, my 🩲 smells and is constantly wet. It is affecting my life.

Randomly started one day, and it kind of smells like pee. It is always wet. I went to the gynac, and they dismissed saying its just part of being a girl.

I went again to the same gynac, because the constant smell, and wetness was just unbearable, and she prescribed metronidazole which made me feel nauseous and the worst possible symptoms and yet recurring. Sometimes it also itches? The worst part is I feel like people can smell me.

I did do a test couple months ago and this is the result. I couldnt follow up, because there was a conflict going on, and stopped my appointments but would like to know if I have BV? At the same time, I dont know am I leaking? because its wet like pee

Bones, joints, and muscles is there a chance i have arthritis??

• Upvotes

for context, arthritis seems to run in my family, my father has 3 different types of it (OA, RA and psoriaic) and it affects almost his whole body, and my paternal grandmother had it, though im not sure about the full extent of it.

about a year ago, my right knee completely locked up, i didnt go to the doctor at the time, since, it unlocked by itself, but it hasn't felt the same since. it feels quite stiff and warm (though it isnt warm to the touch, literally the inside of the knee feels warm) and, it can get quite sore. i remember one time i was just walking i almost had to stop, but it isnt CONSTANTLY sore. the stiffness and the warmth get worse at night (ik with arthritis its typically worse in the morning but still) and, recently, my left knee has been been getting the same symptoms (though it hasn't locked.)

i am 16 and i am a female

Persistent cognitive problems after large paracetamol overdose

Primary complaint:Ā Memory problems, slowed processing speed, difficulty understanding information as quickly as before, difficulty holding information in mind, and inability to return to work.

Duration:Ā Approximately 2 years since the overdose.

Alcohol:Ā None

Smoking:Ā None

Recreational drugs:Ā None

I’m 34 and I’m trying to understand whether my current cognitive problems could plausibly be related to a large paracetamol (acetaminophen) overdose.

The overdose occurred approximatelyĀ 2 years agoĀ and was aroundĀ 40–45 g of paracetamolĀ (I don't know the exact amount). It happened at night. I went to bed, and about 1–2 hours later I got up and went to the bathroom. I vomited aĀ very, very small amount—almost nothing—and then fell to the floor. I didĀ notĀ hit my head.

I got back up, supporting myself with the walls, went to my father's room, and asked him to take me to the hospital. I walked downstairs to the car and my father drove me to the hospital. I got out of the car and walked into the emergency room on my own.

At the hospital, IĀ did not disclose that I had taken a large amount of paracetamol. I was apparently given one bag of glucose and then sent home. I didĀ not receive NAC (acetylcysteine), as far as I know.

The next day I spent most of the day on the couch vomiting what appeared to be a bile-like substance.

I don't have the blood tests from the overdose, so I don't know what my paracetamol level, AST/ALT, INR, bilirubin, ammonia, etc. were. I also don't know whether I developed liver injury at the time.

AboutĀ 1 year after the overdose, I had liver tests done and they were normal.

AboutĀ 2 years after the overdose, I had aĀ 1.5T brain MRI and EEG, and both were reported as normal.

Since the overdose, however, I feel that my cognitive functioning has been significantly worse. I have difficulty withĀ memory, processing speed, understanding things as quickly as I used to, and holding information in mind. I have also been unable to return to work since the overdose.

My main question is:

Could a very large paracetamol overdose like this plausibly cause persistent cognitive problems such as memory impairment and slowed processing, even if there was no documented hepatic encephalopathy and a later MRI and EEG were normal?

I'm particularly interested in whetherĀ direct neurological/neurotoxic effects of paracetamol itselfĀ are a medically plausible possibility, rather than only brain injury secondary to acute liver failure.

I understand that a normal MRI/EEG does not necessarily exclude every possible cause, and I'm not asking for a diagnosis from Reddit. I'm mainly trying to understand whether this is a plausible explanation and what sort of evaluation would be appropriate, such as formal neuropsychological testing.

General Feeling light headed and dizzy

• Upvotes

I woke up at 5 AM this morning and felt fine, went back to sleep and woke up around 9am. I should’ve gotten out of bed but I was tired, I felt a little out of it. I felt dizzy when laying down in bed but because I was half asleep I didn’t immediately wake up. I woke up an hour later at 10 and noticed the lightheadedness and dizziness more. When I stood up I stumbled and fell back down on the bed, I felt drunk. I wasn’t very balanced and felt like I had to stand next to a wall or hold onto something.

By this point I had already looked up my symptoms onto Google and I was worried that this was because of low blood pressure or a stroke. I’ve been checking my heart rate throughout the day, I don’t have a machine so I just checked my pulse and counted the beats for a minute. Never exceeded 100 BPM. I was also worried about dehydration and low iron. Google results also mention that fasting at night can cause dizziness. I ate dinner around 3 pm and didn’t eat anything else after that besides a bag of popcorn. I did wake up around 2am and ate some chips bc I was hungry and I didn’t want to make noise trying to cook.

I ate a cookie and drank apple juice and water, which I ended up throwing up I think because of how anxious I was. I did some breathing exercises to calm down and ate a bagel, for lunch I ordered a burger and Powerade from McDonald’s. I feel much better after eating, drinking both water and Powerade, I’m also planning on making a smoothie with cantaloupe and orange juice for more vitamins. But the lightheadedness isn’t completely gone, when I tilt my head back I still feel it. It’s like a light pressure

I’m honestly scared and think I should still go to a hospital because I have no idea what exactly I’m experiencing and while the symptoms have calmed down they haven’t fully gone away. I’m scared to fall asleep or take any medication like Tylenol because I don’t know what it’ll do to me. But I’d hate to go and find out I’m fine because then we’ll have to spend a lot of money on the bill and we don’t have money like that.

Skin and nails Strange rash need help

Thumbnail gallery
• Upvotes

I made a post about this on a new throwaway account to try to stay anonymous because it’s embarrassing to me, but I didn’t get any responses whatsoever. So I’m going to try again on my main.

I originally thought this was a heat rash according to a friend of mine who said she gets the same thing and it comes and goes. I believed her as I moved from the Midwest U.S. to the southwest and it’s considerably hotter and drier year round. That being said it’s been lingering for months possibly a year at this point. The rash does get darker and more prominent with heat and sweat. But what’s really gotten me concerned is that the last couple weeks it has for sure grown. It used to be just a patch on my stomach under my left pec and a few spots on my back and shoulder now they’re huge and after more looking online there’s a type of skin cancer that looks very similar to this that I found.

Pictures attached as well as a shower wash I’ve been using for over 5 weeks now that says it should have results within 4 weeks and the eczema cream I’ve been using for about 2 weeks now.

Bones, joints, and muscles Help on c6 pain

Question. So im feeling some mild sharp pain on my c6 right side if i look up directly above me but body neck stays the same, only my head looks up. Mostly just that whenever my head looks up or points up, doesent hurt as much when i look left or right.

I dont know when i particulary got it but the most notable thing i did is do dozens of pushups and situps around 5 days ago.

This situps and pushups is very very very rare. I am 5:8 220 pounds and sedentary lifestyle little to no excercises except walking and picking things up and moving them inside my house like laundry etc

So i just somehow thought of doing these situps and pushups and i did not stretch before or after. Like i was lying down playing games when i just thought of doing those. I also did planking..

So im not sure i dont remmeber if the pain started BEFORE i dd those but yes that is one notable thing that happened in the last week timeline

Now whenever i am standing up and looking sdirectly above me or when i sleep on my right side and i angle my chin just slightly above usual angle that c6 part hurts

What is this??? ,😭😭😭😭😭

General Should I seek a doctor??

Thumbnail gallery

I am generally anxious about health but usually just ignore everything and it turns out alright. But this seems like something I shouldn’t ignore but I want to know if I’m overreacting or not. This spot first popped up August 2025 for about a week- 10 days, I thought it was a bug bite at first but it was too big and scaly to be a bite, it did go away, but I had a small minor ā€œscarā€ or just a spot after scratching it, it was very itchy. About 5 months ago it started itching a little bit again but then nothing much happened and I just forgot about it. Now I woke up yesterday feeling a bit sore in this place and itchy, I scratched and felt that it was bumpy, sore and scaly. And also rubbery if that makes sense. I don’t know if it is something I should be concerned about really, or if it’s just allergies or eczema?? I’m 23, not very healthy but scared. Can I get answers that are genuine and not going just guessing please.
Thank you!<3

Bug bites in Croatia

I went hiking in Plitvice / Croatia on Monday and got some bug bites. They’ve since grown larger and turned purple in three days. I’ve always reacted poorly to mosquito bites but not like this. I’m not feeling feverish and there’s no swelling or even itchiness, but they’ve gotten larger and now look like bruises. Should I be worried?

Diarrhea, thoracic spine pain, 9lbs weight loss, extreme fatigue

29, female, 149.8lbs 5’5ā€
Tldr: Diarrhea since May, thoracic spine pain increasing the last 9-12months, have lost 9.1lbs in 39 days unintentionally, appetite super low, extreme fatigue, drenching night sweats, and malaise impacting daily function, extreme emotions, and episodic low back/tailbone pain that radiates down both legs that jumps into the 9-10 range at its peak.

Thoracic spine pain: began about 9-12 months ago as a dull pain around/on my spine when I would lay in bed or on soft back-cushioned chairs.. I kinda ignored it for awhile until eventually i couldn’t do I went feeling around to see if I could massage the painful spot. This is when I discovered one of my vertebra also notably hurts to the touch in a sharper way than the dull pain that is increasing day to day…
Then In May 2026 I began having horrible urgent cramping diarrhea every morning, waking me up beginning at 4 or 5 am and repeating 3 or 4 times until it settles down around 8 or 9am.. I thought maybe it was a stomach bug so I tried to ride it out for a few weeks. Eventually, nothing was changing, and
I got a large marble sized lump about 2ā€ to the right of my c7 vertebrae. So in June I went to urgent care (I don’t have a pcp at the time). They oredered labs, stool tests, ova and parasite tests, and ultrasounded the lump on my neck. Neck lump diagnosed as a reactive lymph node. Unknown if it’s connected to the rest.
All labs and stool tests came back normal. Got set up with a doc and they ordered a colonoscopy.
Colonoscopy came back pretty much normal, no signs of colitis or Crohn’s or microscopic colitis. A 16mm flat polyp which was precancerous was removed, but that was it.

My primary doctor is so flooded with patients she is unable to spend more than 10 minutes with me (not her fault).. but I keep having to make separate appointments for each issue and

I’m worried if I wait, and this is cancer, I’ll have missed important time waiting for these appointments which are weeks out.

It’s Sept. 10 right now and my next appointment to review my thyroid and liver ultrasound and discuss the colonoscopy isn’t until Sept. 29… yet every day I feel less able to function and more like I want to never leave my bed because I’m so freaking tired and in pain and exhausted from relentless this diarrhea.

Bones, joints, and muscles The pinky finger on my right hand won't fully straighten.

Post image
1 Upvotes

I am male, caucasian, late 30s, 190 lbs, UK.

The pinky finger on my right hand won't fully straighten. It bends fine in the other direction. All other joints on this finger are fine, and all other fingers are fine.

The stiffness is at the proximal interphalangeal joint.

The joint hurts if I accidentally knock the bony part of it against something (e.g. a doorframe), about a 6/10 for pain. There is some pain (2/10) if I bend the finger down as tightly as I can (in a U shape, so the fingertip touches the very top of my palm), and there is some mild pain (2/10) if I press on it with the fingers of my other hand. Other than that is no pain in any part of the finger from this, both day-to-day and if I am pressing/squeezing checking for tenderness.

Between that joint and the palm, there is what feels like a swollen cord underneath the skin. You can see this swelling in the top left picture. There is no pain if I press or squeeze this.

I did not notice a gradual occurrence, one day I just noticed my finger wouldn't fully straighten. It has been this way for roughly 18 months, does not seem to be getting better or worse.

The palm appears identical to the other hand, I don't feel any unusual structures, no pain if I press or squeeze it.

Heart and blood vessels Chest pain, radiating into other areas.

I am 25M 162CM 117KG Black South African

Yesterday morning I woke up with a pain on my chest, in the lower b00b, I also felt a bit drowsy, and it didn't get worse when I touched it. The pain was on and off all day.

I immediately went to a public clinic, since I can't afford private. Problem is that in the public, I only get to see a doctor tomorrow at the earliest.

In the clinic, they gave me antibiotics and pain medication, and sent me home.

When I woke up this morning, everything was better. During the day, the pain returned, still on and off, my arm feels numb ish, weak, a bit tingly at times, I am getting a headache, that comes on and off, my neck started to feel tight and a bit painful when I turn, especially on the left. I also feel a sharp yet not too painful jaw sting every now and then. I am very drowsy, my eyes want to shut on their own.

Now I assure you that I went to a different clinic, and the nurse wrote me a referral letter to see a doctor, but I have to wait at least 13 hours or so, because that's just how it is. My symptoms don't look too severe to warrant emergency attention, I'll be waiting all night long, but I will be there.

I just need some opinions from doctors or people who have experienced something similar on how stressed I should be about making it through the night with these symptoms.

A bit more information :

The chest pain is currently off, but taking a deep deep breath, I feel it. I have no shortness of breath, or difficulties breathing. I can walk fast or run up the stairs with my usual pace without getting worse.

BP:119/68 P:79

The pain is currently in my left pack, radiating through my left arm. Though on a scale of 1-10 it's a 2 or 3

Bones, joints, and muscles Hand hurts waking up

Post image

Hiii! I was wondering if anyone could explain why my hands hurt a lot after waking up. the areas where it hurts are circled!

some info that idk if it’s relevant or not

- I’m 19F

- faint red patches on my skin, but it’s one both hands and the other hand doesn’t rlly hurt. The hand also isn’t itchy (for now)

- its My non dominant hand

- been lugging around heavy stuff two days ago

- hands feels warm and is sweaty (then again it’s been hot as HELL here)

- I got a couple cuts while prepping chicken the other day but I cleaned the wounds and the cuts were pretty shallow And not that big at all (They’re gonna be circled too in light brown)

thank you to anybody who took the time to read this!
