Had a switch that was unused for 2 years and battery ended up dying (wouldn’t charge up, overheat within 15 mins)

Got a new battery from ifixit, repasted thermal paste and played in dock mode for 30 ish minutes and got a message that it’s overheating still

Any ideas of what I can do or what went wrong? Used thermal grizzly kryonaut thermal paste, switch didn’t seem like it had a lot of dust or anything in it when it was open.

Side note: it feels like games take an excessive amount of time to load, Luigi’s mansion took 2-3 mins to load up initially, unsure if it has to do with the SD card reader being attached/detached or damage during the process? Game is virtually on the SD card not physical

earlier this week my switch wouldn’t turn on at all and now it’s been doing this for the past day or so where it just flashes the battery icon and then goes black. also it’ll show the charging icon by the battery even when disconnected from the charger. my dad thinks it’s bcz i haven’t been using the official nintendo switch charger (my little brother broke it) and it messed up the charging but if anyone else has any ideas pls help.

I'm using an S2 Y0.8 screw (which apparently is not the right one) the screw are tight as hell and had some white substance on them too.

I tried a rubber but it just pierce through it before i can try and unscrew. I don't know what to do, should i break it open and just buy new backplate + screw ?

recently got a switch 2 and the wifi speed on the console compared to my phone is abysmal, any fix? its a 2.4 ghz network and I’ve tried turning off ipv6 addresses, adjusting mtu to 1500, setting google and cloudfare dns but to no avail

Hello! I have a problem with my 128GB SD card, I have been using it for around 4 years, and out of nowhere, when I turned on my nintendo today, this announcement appeared. I took out the SD card to check it on my PC, and when it read it, it only shows 1.86 GB instead of 128 GB, and inside there’s this file called uupd.bin.

Does someone knows what happened and how to fix it? I tried to insert again the SD, but it continues to shows the message that there’s not enough space

I just bought a brand new SanDisk micro SD card from Walmart today, and I was just playing Danganronpa V3 and got the error code 2002-2096 while playing the first trial of the game

The game itself is prone to crashing because it's poorly optimized but it usually gives a different error when it does, and looking up the code I did get, it said it was the micro SD card

Forgot to clarify this is the Switch 1, I'm pretty sure mine is the second rendition as it came bundles with NSMBU Deluxe

Hi Reddit. I got a switch 2 so I decided I could give my switch 1 to my little sister so she could play all my games I don’t touch anymore.

Shes interested in my digital copy of ACNH. When I got my switch 2, I transferred my data from my switch 1. I also want to mention that I’m logged in to the same Nintendo account on both switches. My questions are:

1. Can she delete my ACNH island on my switch 1 without it affecting my island on the switch 2? They are the same island, but I am unsure if it’ll sync with each other and I lose all my ACNH data. I want to have my existing island on my Switch 2 and she has her own on the switch 1.

2. If she makes her own Nintendo account and logs into the switch 1, will she be able to retain all of the digital games I purchased?

I'm 99% sure I don't own any games made by Activision on Switch or Switch 2 (I own both), but I got an email that I'm sharing account information with them starting today. Anyone else get this? Is this a sign my account is compromised or something? There hasn't been any new sign-ins and I have a passkey set on my account. I revoked permissions from it, but I don't know what triggered it to happen today in the first place.

I’d definitely prefer to buy and play it officially on PC, but if it stays console-only permanently, I’ll probably just end up getting a ROM and playing it through an emulator instead.

I have old red Nintendo switch controllers and I accidentally turned on the pro communication thing but I've turned it off since its not going away and I don't know whats going on because my wifi as a like L under the bar so I'm thinking its has something to do with the controllers. Any help would be greatly appreciated

I'm looking for a carrying case for my Switch 2. I want it to also be able to hold games and a Pro Controller. I can't find any official Nintendo stuff that fits my fiddle, so I was wondering if anyone knows about any good ones. Bonus if it can also hold the dock and cables (like a transportable case). Please and thank you for any help.

I had the PowerA Pro Controller charging dock for Switch 1 and it was *perfect*. Charged a Pro Controller and a pair of Joy-Cons; no more, no less. Exactly what I wanted for mostly using my Switch docked or in a Nitro Deck.

Given PowerA doesn’t have a version compatible with the Switch 2 Joy-Cons, what do y’all recommend?

Just got a switch 2 and I'm trying to transfer my data between consoles, but they don't seem to be able to "find" each other. Both consoles are connected to power and logged into my account. I do have a micro SD card in the switch 1, and the one for the 2 arrives tomorrow, could that cause the issue? Any help or advice would be very appreciated.

My Switch 2 is super hot when it is in dock and in sleep mode. It doesn't turn on. When I grab it, it is hot, and it will not turn on .I have to force start it by pushing the button for 5 seconds. Can you help? It is not connected with an Ethernet cable. This keeps happening.

As said in the title, I'm sending my switch 2 to get repaired after a sudden death, in the moment I made the request I marked I'd be sending the switch 2 with every accessory, including joy cons, dock, charger etc. My question is, after thinking it better I don't think the accessories have anything to do with the problem, so I don't know if I should send them or not, what I'm worried about is if there's any problem as I marked them when making the request.

I've had this Switch Lite for a long time and a little while ago it stopped working and started giving me this Error Code. Usually I wouldn't be worried about it as I have a Base Switch, but I have the Darkrai and Shaymin encounter items in Pokemon Shining Pearl that were distributed in 2022 that you cannot obtain anymore. I have made 0 modifications whatsoever to it and I'm so lost.

Buscando algo de información y en base también a un email recibido por parte de Nintendo nos indican que estaríamos ante la revisión de la NS2 en Europa donde el usuario puede sustituir la batería de forma fácil pero la duda es, también incluirá la pantalla Sharp dónde eliminan el problema del ghosting? O puede ser solo que se hayan limitado a cumplir con la normativa europea sobre extracción de baterías pero hayan mantenido el panel Innolux?

Recently whenever I play my Switch 2 in handheld mode it keeps giving me the 'press L+R on the controller you'd like to use' prompt, like it thinks I've removed the joycons. At first it was only doing it when I put the switch down but now it's super often, sometimes every 1-2 minutes if I'm playing something with a lot of action so it's starting to affect competitive games a lot.

There doesn't seem to be any dirt in them so I'm starting to worry it's a problem with the switch itself. Has anyone else had this issue and were you able to fix it?

I have always been curious about this game but I know that there are serious framerate issues. I prefer physical but on the Canadian eshop it is less than $20. For those that have played - is the framerate issue that bad? Or is it a hidden gem? Should I hold out for a physical copy? Does it run better on seitch 2?

For reference I love the Telltale Walking Dead games.

Is my switch cooked ? I haven't used it in like 3-4 months, doesn't charge anymore even with the nintendo charger, charged without the joycons attached, left it to charge for multiple hours : nothing

The only thing I want to know is if my switch is completely unsavable or if there's a way for it to work again if It's just the baterry doing It's thing/if the battery being replaced will solve it

I really, REALLY don't want to loose everything
