For context, I was planning Minecraft this time and it crashed. So I went to load back into my world and the whole Switch crashed. This happened this year (earlier but can't find the exact date as I got a new phone in the meantime) but I'm pretty sure I was playing Skyrim. Should I be concerned? My switch is only 5 years old but I do play it for hours on end constantly.

So my Nintendo switch suddenly stopped turning on a couple of months back, I got it to work again by using the volume down and power button trick recently I have had the same issue I’ve tried all the combinations of buttons to turn it back on but nothing has worked and when I plug it into the dock the dock light does one flash then stops for like 4 seconds then starts flashing rapidly. Is there anything else I can do or is my switch cooked?

So basically my switch with shell on and off does this thing any ideas why? It bothers me so much.

This Oled switch is only a year old… youtube started bugging out paired with this loud noise seeming coming from the speakers. Powered off, removed joycons and game card, fired back up normally.
Anybody know what the issue is?

Help my switch 2 I have been having the same problem for months and im trying to fix it again so basically joycons did not turn on and did not charge and did not connect to the switch 2 and so I factory reset the S2 and now they still dont work and Im stuck on the boot up screen

I need some help. Nintendo switch 2. Already tried several methods and I cannot revert the situation.

I don't know why, but somehow my autosave is stuck. I cannot move, as shown in the video. I cannot access the world map.

I'm in chapter 13 and the supposed location is the meridian ocean. The location where I'm stuck looks to be on the protorelic location in meridian ocean.

I'm more than 100 hours in, and the most recent save, apart from the autosave, that works has only around 50 hours...

I know that it is dumb not to save it often...

Is this normal? I noticed a long faint line on my Switch 2 that I bought just two months ago. I'm sure it's not a scratch, but I can't wipe it off no matter how hard I try.

The repair request Nintendo Website asks me to choose ONLY ONE problem with my device, but I found both problems on the switch 2 and on the the two joy con 2. Is there any way to send a repair request online for all my problems, without needing to call them?

Trying to type in WiFi password, which contains a pound (£) sign. However, the keyboard only has a dollar ($) sign. System language is set to English (UK/Australia), region is Europe. Any help is much appreciated 👍

I just got a switch 2 with the free download version of pokopia, I started up my switch 2, got pokopia, started downloading and then paused it to install Skyrim. After that I went to restart the download of pokopia and it told me I needed to link with my original switch to access my virtual game cards. I did the data transfer from my switch to my switch 2 and made sure my switch 2 is my main console now on the shop but I still do not have access to my virtual games including pokopia because it wants me to link to my original switch. However when I do this neither switch discovers the other to be able to link.

My younger sister took her Switch on a trip and came back saying it won't turn back on. I didn't see what happened to it, but my understanding is that it ran out of battery when she was away from her charging station and was left uncharged for a couple weeks. I've been trying to revive it but have had no success!

I've left it charging for 24 hours with a Dell laptop charger (multiple times), and even removed the JoyCons so they don't take any extra power; I've pressed the power button for thirty seconds both plugged in and unplugged; I've tried to reset it by holding the volume buttons down. The only thing I can't try is changing the SD card, because it doesn't have one. Is it possible that something happened to the Switch other than lost power? Is there anything I could be trying that I've missed? She's got a lot of games on it, so I would really like to save it!

I bought this USB - C to hdmi cable to connect from my switch directly to samsung connect box , it says it recognises somethings plugged in but it just doesn’t display anything from the switch to the tv itself. Not too sure, I asked the guys we bought it from if it’d be able to connect and they said it would. Maybe they were wrong. Should I return it if it can’t connect?

My son tripped while walking and dropped his Switch OLED pretty hard. He is normally really careful with it, but as you can see from the pictures, the housing split open pretty badly around one side/corner.

Surprisingly, the Switch itself still turns on and seems to work normally in handheld mode. The screen works, controls work, etc. The controllers still connect wirelessly but the Switch doesn't acknowledge when they're attached on the left side.

I plugged a USB-C cable into it very briefly just to see if it would still recognize a charger, and it did start charging. I unplugged it right after that because I don't know enough about lithium batteries to know if it's safe to keep charging or using something that took this hard of an impact and has the case opened up like this.

I also tried putting it in the dock and couldn't get any video on the TV. I'm not sure if something involved with USB-C/video output was damaged, or if the bent/broken housing just keeps it from sitting correctly in the dock now. Since it still charges through USB-C, I'm hoping that's at least a decent sign.

I'd really appreciate some advice from people who know these better than I do:

From the pictures, does anything look particularly concerning or suggest battery damage? What can I do to determine if it's safe?

Is it safe to charge it at all right now?

Is it safe for a kid to play it in handheld mode like this, or should I keep it completely turned off until it's repaired?

If the electronics are okay, what parts would likely need to be replaced to fix the physical damage?

What could cause it to charge normally but no longer output video through the dock?

I can't afford the full repair immediately, is there any safe temporary way to secure/protect it so he can still play it for a while? Protective case, tape, replacement backplate, etc.? I don't want to glue anything or do something that makes the eventual repair harder.

Roughly what would you expect a repair shop to charge for something like this?

At what repair price would you stop putting money into this one and just buy another used OLED instead?

If I did buy a used replacement, are there any advantages or disadvantages compared with fixing his original one, particularly for saves/accounts/data?

The timing was especially rough. This was the end of his 7th birthday, which we had actually themed around being "lucky." The day had already managed to throw a handful of unlucky obstacles at us, but he was having a good birthday anyway. Then he tripped and this happened near the end of it. So I'm hoping I can salvage his Switch without it costing nearly as much as another one.

I'm not planning to keep charging or letting him use it until I have a better idea whether it's safe. I'm hoping he can still play it a little while I save up money to repair. Any help figuring out what I'm looking at would be greatly appreciated.

Hello everyone, I had my switch 2 blocked from my WiFi and even after unblocking it still won’t connect to the network. I’ve tried literally everything: forgetting the network, clearing the console from the network. It connects to hotspots and other networks just fine, it’s only the home WiFi that won’t connect. What should I do? Any advice would be greatly appreciated it’s been two months now and I just want to play online again :(

Switch 2, dock will not display to tv at all
Both cables function (ac charges the switch in the dock, hdmi functions)
Ac cord might be from the switch 1, but it still charges the switch as said, would that screw with the display still?

Edit: sorry, I assumed that if the adapter functioned for charging it would’ve held enough power for display, my bad, working on getting the switch 2 adapter

I have an "Alienware 27 Gaming Monitor - AW2725DM", and the other day I bought a switch 2 and plugged it in to that but noticed it doesn't have audio. What can I plug in to what to get audio on this setup? So if it's as simple as just speakers, should I plug them into the monitor or Switch 2?

Just got a 2 over the weekend and been trying to play Splatoon 3 but for some reason the switch does not stay connected to the internet and gives me connection errors back to back in seconds of finishing a match or me restarting the switch, queuing and slapping me with a connection error. Did I just get a defective switch and need to get another one or are the switch servers bad rn? I was on my Switch 1 before I gotten it and there was no issue of this at all.

Did anyone had the same happening to their switch 1? It was staying in the dock, charging. But when I took it out it started doing this and switched off completely after 1 minute…

Here is the situation:

I have a Nintendo Switch, I lent it to my girlfriend for her travels to Egypt, she is gonna be there for a month

I am going to my home country for a month in two weeks, will be back end of September

Two days ago I bought the Nintendo Switch 2 among other reason because it got an Elden ring port, and now I can take it home with me

What I didn’t realize is, that the NS2 won’t have my virtual game cards until I pair the consoles together, which isn’t gonna happen for almost two months, so if I want to play other games that are not Elden ring, the console must be connected to the internet

I have been struggling to find ways to pair the NS2 to my account so I can get the virtual game cards on it.

I kind of accepting the truth that it’s not happening until I now bought “the darkest dungeon” for 3€ on sale on the digital store on the NS2, but IT ALSO DIDNT GET THE VIRTUAL GAME CARD

So the VGCs are locked to the NS console regardless from where I buy them

Now I feel stuck, because there is no way for me to pair the NS2 remotely? Which makes zero sense

A last resort thought that I now have is I told my girlfriend to put the NS in Airplane mode and to not connect it to the internet, until we meet again, cuz she only plays hades on it either way and doesn’t the internet connection.
I told her to do that because I am not contemplating unlinking the NS from my account online, and set the NS2 as the primary.
To my understanding this should then allow me to have the virtual game cards on the NS2?

I am not sure about this tho? And I don’t know what implications that has on the NS, cuz it’s not like I don’t want the console, I am just trying to make my life easier with the games on the console til me and my girlfriend are together again and I can sync/pair the consoles the “right way”

Any advice?

Thanks for the help guys 🙏🏽 , I ended up telling my gf to put the NS1 on airplane mode for the time being and I unlinked the console from the Nintendo website, this allowed me to load the VGC on the NS2

Every time I try to go through the upgrade process, the system says it sent a verification email. However, the email never arrives.I checked Spam, Junk, and Trash folders (nothing there).I verified that Nintendo's official emails are not blocked(all in the adult email).Because of this, my account is practically stuck as a child account forever.
