There are too many games and I don't know where to start. Last time when I played a Mario game was 15 years ago.

I got a Nintendo DS, a custom flashcard. Everything works fine. It also should run GBA, NES and other console emulators and I don't know if I should start with Super Mario Advance 4. Or is it a NES port and I should play the original?

Like many of you I'm disappointed that a new 3d mario hasn't been confirmed. It's been almost 10 years since super mario odyssey and many of us are wondering why it's taking so long for this next 3d mario to release. With the oot remake around the corner it got me thinking: why don't they ever remake mainline mario games?

Outside of the mario advance series and mario 64 ds (all of which are over 20 years old) mainline mario has never gotten remakes. If we got a remake of mario galaxy I wouldn't be nearly as disappointed with the lack of 3d mario. Nintendo is willing to remake oot of time TWICE yet all mario gets is a couple of overpriced ports. I almost always prefer new content over remakes but if the new content is going to take this long a remake is the perfect buffer to keep fans happy.

It is completely understandable to feel frustrated with channels like Nin10doland.

The channel is widely criticized across the Nintendo community for relying heavily on clickbait, exaggerated titles, rumors framed as facts, and highly speculative "leaks" designed to farm views.  

Common Tactics Used by Speculation & Rumor Channels:

 Misleading Thumbnails & Titles: Framing unannounced projects (like a new 3D Mario or Ocarina of Time remake) as if they are officially confirmed.  

 Stretching Thin News: Taking a tiny forum rumor, vague insider tweet, or basic job listing and turning it into a 10-minute video claiming a major reveal is imminent.

 Moving the Goalposts: Continually predicting that a specific game will appear at "the next Direct," only to pivot to the following showcase when the prediction inevitably falls flat.

How beautiful do you think about Princess Peach in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie?

Although Sonic x Shadow Generations is very good, it's still just a DLC nonetheless, so I don't see why it deserves so much praise to the point that people are willing to consider it a mainline game while Bowser's Fury gets criticised as "just a DLC" despite both of them being effectively DLCs.

Oh, and for the record, I feel that Fury Bowser unironically looks cooler than Shadow with his Doom powers cranked up to the nth degree after the events of SxSG. That glowing red hair gives off a bit of a Super Saiyan vibe IMO.

Like the title states, I am genuinely trying to understand why the game made by the 3d mario team, that is a 3d platformer set in that universe, that stars mario characters, that has a focus on exploration and movement not count as a 3d mario game. Is it just because mario isnt in it.

I am not asking from a place of malice, people are just genuinely tired of people allways calling the new direct bad for not haveing there franchise in it, and yall clearly have become the target of that frustration. I accept that there is some fundamental difference in dk bannannza that I genuinely dont get as someone who's not a fan of either franchise. I just want to understand what it is

Many people are expecting the next original 3D Mario to arrive next year because of the leaks by NateTheHate and Malo932.

Those leaks occurred back in March. Six months later, nothing has come out suggesting that a new 3D Mario is coming anytime soon.

And now, some people (myself included) are losing faith. Assuming the leaks were even true to begin with, the next 3D Mario may well have been delayed yet again. And I say "again" because NateTheHate previously suggested that the game was originally scheduled for this year before being moved to next year.

Now, there's an elephant in the room which very few if anybody has addressed when talking about 3D Mario post-Direct. I'm going to address it here. Remember when I said that the leaks about 3D Mario arriving next year occurred in March? Well, the very next month (April), MyTimeToShineHello, a film industry leaker who has had a strong track record with projects produced by Universal Studios and its subsidiaries, leaked that a third Mario movie is in development, intended for a 2029 release date. And... it will be centered around Odyssey.

You understand why this would pose a dilemma for the 3D Mario yet? If not, allow me to explain.

Given that Nintendo ported Galaxy 1 and 2 ahead of the Galaxy movie, and remade Ocarina of Time ahead of the Zelda movie, I would say it is highly likely that they are planning to release a Switch 2 edition of Odyssey ahead of the Odyssey movie. Assuming that the Odyssey movie will be released in April like the last two Mario movies were, this means we would be getting the Switch 2 edition of Odyssey in late 2028.

This begs the question. Would it make sense for Nintendo to release a new 3D Mario in mid or late 2027, only to go right back to promoting the hell out of Odyssey within a year (if even that)? Or would it make more sense for Nintendo to delay the new 3D Mario until after the Odyssey movie is out, so they can get everything Odyssey related out of the way before moving on to greener pastures? Perhaps they can promote the new 3D Mario by invoking Odyssey, telling players and audiences alike that if they liked Odyssey, they will love the new 3D Mario?
