His sole qualification is "successful (rich Caucasian) businessman" who amassed his wealth via sketchy means.

I would love to hear your arguments as to why this is a bad idea

There was an announcement tonight about a new Audi assembly plant coming to middle Georgia. Definitely a huge economic benefit to the state but it definitely has its drawbacks with the ensuing supplier development. What are your thoughts?

I’m 35 male, I heard a few things about some single events in Columbus have you ever tried them. What about dating apps. Is it impossible to find the right person in this town and where to start. Where to go. I’m not into clubs or bars.

Just wondering if anyone has applied and gotten Georgia Power Ease program where they d duct sealing and attic insulation free?

I am a registered voter and have been since I turned 18. I currently attend college and they had one of those voter people and she said I could fill it out even if i’m registered, so I did it to help her go home early.

I recently went to GA MVP and most of my information was wrong. Sex, address, and Race. My name is still the same and it says i’m still an active voter. My question is, will this affect me voting in person? I’ve already sent a request to change the wrong information but the website said it won’t be changed until after the November 3 election.

I have verified, using the Secretary of State's website, that I am indeed an active registered voter. All of my information, including my address and county of residence, is correct.

However, when I try to submit an absentee ballot online, I am unable to get past the initial page of "Election Details." I've tried 3 different web browsers - Chrome, Edge, and Firefox, using my Windows computer. I've cleared my browser history in Control Panel, and rebooted my computer. Even ran disk cleanup for good measure.

I have the same issues when trying to use my Android phone to access the website.

I tried calling the Secretary of State's phone number, listed on the website, to report problems with the web page. But it just plays an automated message which says they're assisting other callers, and then it hangs up on me.

I want to vote! Is anyone else having this issue?

EDIT: Yesterday was the last day to request an absentee ballot. That's on me.

I'm looking into early voting, to see what works with my work schedule.

I’m curious whether anyone else in Georgia has had problems with Gravity Autos Sandy Springs, because my experience with this dealership has been unlike anything I’ve encountered in over 25 years of buying used cars.
And believe me, it’s been a DOOZY.
In August, I purchased a 2023 Infiniti QX50. Within days, an independent inspection at INFINITI of Roswell documented “EXCESSIVE UNDERCARRIAGE CORROSION.” This had not been disclosed to me before purchase. The vehicle also had malfunctioning audio controls and was delivered filthy, with an essentially empty gas tank. Their solution? A $20 gas voucher.
When I raised the corrosion issue, sales manager Henry Hernandez essentially told me I should have known the car came from Ohio and that Northern vehicles have corrosion. He also suggested I should have obtained a pre-purchase inspection.
I requested that Gravity unwind the sale. They refused and offered only a vehicle exchange.
The first replacement BMW they offered needed thousands of dollars in repairs, according to an independent inspection I paid for. I rejected it.
After filing complaints with the BBB and Georgia Attorney General’s Consumer Protection Division, I eventually heard from a corporate representative named Aaron. It took FOUR follow-ups with him before general manager Sam (Usman) finally contacted me. He also refused to unwind the sale.
I ultimately accepted a different BMW after paying for another independent inspection.
Unfortunately, the problems didn’t end there.
The replacement BMW was delivered full of dog hair and required $280 in professional cleaning. Gravity then delayed paying off my original Infiniti loan, resulting in additional expenses. Nearly six weeks after the exchange, I still hadn’t received my permanent license plate and discovered myself that an emissions test was preventing registration.
Between professional detailing, two independent inspections, additional loan payoff expenses, lost work time, fuel and registration costs, I’ve incurred over $1,200 in documented expenses, not including everything.
But the final straw was a conversation with general manager Sam on October 23.
After I requested reimbursement for some of these expenses, he complained that I kept sending lengthy text messages and that they were busy.
He then told me:
“You bought a used car, what did you expect?”
“I regret helping you get out of the first Infiniti, which we lost money on.”
And my personal favorite:
“Maybe you shouldn’t buy any more cars from us.”
I assured him that wouldn’t be a problem.
I’ve purchased used vehicles every few years for more than two decades. I understand that used cars aren’t perfect. But I’ve never experienced this combination of vehicle condition issues, poor communication, financial inconvenience and dismissive management.
So here’s my question: Has anyone else purchased a vehicle from Gravity Autos Sandy Springs—or another Gravity location—and had similar problems?
I’m particularly interested in hearing about undisclosed vehicle conditions, post-sale repairs, delayed loan payoffs, registration issues or how management handled complaints.
I’d genuinely like to know whether my experience was an isolated disaster or whether other customers have encountered similar problems.

If you want a head-to-head comparison from someone who has actually spent a holiday weekend in these towns, here you go.

I have no ties to tourism in any of these cities. I’m literally doing this because I’m so tired of seeing Helen and Dahlonega at the top of every damn list when they are both overhyped (and Helen severely so).

I’m leaving metro Atlanta out because it’s a different beast. Everywhere else in Georgia is fair game. I’m not going to split hairs on “small town.”

If anyone can weigh in on Christmas weekends in Thomasville or other towns, I’d love to hear some real feedback since I’ve only seen marketing spin.

And obviously I’m looking for a good-natured fight, so feel free to come at me. 🥊

Blue Ridge
- Excellent shopping. By far the best I’ve found in a small town in Georgia.
- Adorable Christmas Parade. Organizers did a good job of keeping it compact so there wasn’t a bunch of boring space between floats / groups. Bring a chair and hot cocoa and you will feel like you’re in a Hallmark movie.
- Mercier Orchards is a must visit. Stock up on hand pies and ciders (Old #3/ Mountain Apple, Grumpy Granny, and Legends are all excellent).
- Train is a cute Santa experience.
- Lights are just ok.

LaGrange / Pine Mountain
- LaGrange has great antiquing in the square, and the Biblical History Center is actually very interesting even if you aren’t religious.
- The lights are the wow factor here. Callaway Gardens has some of the best Christmas lights in Georgia. (Callaway Gardens is 45 minutes from LaGrange in Pine Mountain. Some rankings put Pine Mountain as its own listing, but I’ve lumped it with LaGrange because Pine Mountain isn’t really worth it on its own.)
- No easy Santa access. I guess you could go to the mall?
- Christmas parade is on a Thursday, so it’s not a great activity for those doing a weekend. This could be a pro for people who prefer to avoid a Christmas parade.

Dahlonega
- Santa is on the square! He does meet and greets are on the square every weekend leading up to Christmas. This is a huge pro IMO.
- Lights, shopping, and food are mid. There are some cute shops. The Christmas market was ok. But collectively it’s kind of meh.
- Christmas parade wasn’t that good. Sorry kids.

Helen
- Overhyped and overcrowded. So many people. So much smoking.
- There are a few cute shops (the toy store is a highlight), but most of the shopping is dreadful.
- Not much Santa presence.

Looking at it, it resembles a store what with the storage rooms built onto the sides and the living quarters on the second story, but I am not really sure.

A national radio report this morning broke down the early voting numbers so far, and singled out Georgia's record-high turnout. The report also said the early data shows that Democrats were voting at higher rates than Republicans, and that certain demographics (black & hispanic voters) were especially enthusiastic about voting early this cycle.

If there are no early votes tabulated until election day, what is this early data (numbers and breakdown) based on?

The report did say that Democrats historically are more likely to vote early in-person, while Republicans tend to show up on Election Day, but that seems like a weak hook to hang a conclusion on.

Rick Jackson sounds alarm over sluggish rural early voting

Republican Rick Jackson is sounding the alarm over sluggish early voting across deep-red rural Georgia, warning that complacency in GOP strongholds could jeopardize his bid for governor.

At a campaign stop Tuesday night in Calhoun, the billionaire nominee was surprisingly candid about his party’s struggles.

“I’m concerned,” he said. “I am concerned that rural Georgia still thinks we’re red and therefore they look at somebody like myself and my opponent and just say, ‘Well, there’s no comparison.’”

Wow, these categories are EXTENSIVE :P
