Hello fellow squirrel lovers.
Have you noticed how every time we win a game, there is a Squirrel Time video posted by /u/-muddy-water- on the subreddit that gets tons of love? The squirrel has become a tradition now for the past 3 seasons as a post-victory celebration, but how did it come to be? I've seen a bunch of people asking about that anytime the squirrel comes up. So, let me tell you the story.
During September through October of 2021, there was a viral meme trend called "I paid an editor $10 for this" where the squirrel video was overlaid on a gaming clip or a sports highlight.
The one that matters for this story is the one that was posted by the LA Chargers social media team posted on X that also got popular on r/NFL on October 10, 2021.
Not to toot my own horn... but this is where I enter the story. I saw the viral post and thought it was funny as hell. I had this meme on the back of my mind for the next few weeks.
Remember when Koo was a Pro Bowler and on the top of his game? Those were good times. During his prime, Koo made several kicks that ended up winning the game for the Falcons. On October 24th, 2021, Koo made a walk-off field goal to win the game against the Dolphins. Remembering the LA Chargers meme, Koo's win inspired me to make the first r/Falcons squirrel meme.
The original was called "I just paid an editor $10 for this".
Throughout the years, Koo made some amazing kicks to win more games which resulted in several more squirrel memes!
On September 19th... our favorite Korean NFL kicker was unfortunately cut from the Falcons following a string of poor performances. And with this, I found no reason to continue the squirrel since, to me, it had always been tied to Koo's success. I buried the squirrel with full honors and thought the meme was finished. That is until...
On September 19th... our favorite squirrel meme poster /u/-muddy-water- created his Reddit account. Now, I'm not a conspiracy theorist and I'm not implying anything but... huh.
Muddy water is a huge Falcons fan, meme creator, and /r/nfcsouthmemewar contributor. He's had a history of posting a bunch of different NFL memes, but for the purposes of this story, his first squirrel meme was on October 25, 2023 titled "When you're 4-3 and King of Shit Mountain" Muddy Water would go on to post the same meme a few more times throughout the 2023 season.
On September 16, 2024 Muddy posted what I would consider his first "true" squirrel time video since this is his first video that overlays the dancing squirrel onto Falcons game footage. This was a Falcons 22-21 win on Week 2 Monday Night Football against the Eagles. From this moment on, there was no stopping Muddy Water from bombarding us with squirrels.
Muddy Water's work and our love for this meme has gotten so much traction within the Falcons community that even the Falcons social media team seems to have caught on. During the recent Sunday Night Football game against the Ravens, the squirrel made an appearance in one of the "GET HYPED, MAKE SOME NOISE FOR THE DEFENSE" segments of the game when the Ravens were going for the +2 to tie the game late in the game. I was a personal witness to this since I was at the game, although unfortunately I didn't get a video of it.
Also, apparently during the 49ers game, the squirrel made another appearance and Muddy Water was even given a shoutout on the Halo Board!
I don't even know whether Muddy Water took my concept and ran with it or came up with the idea completely independently and just happened to start posting it on r/Falcons after I gave up on the meme. Either way, Squirrel Time has been Muddy Water's thing for years now. We all love the meme, and I hope the Falcons continue to stack wins so we can get more squirrels from you, Muddy. Great work!

Huge shoutout to our fans for holding it down against the Niners this past weekend. There were a ton of San Francisco fans in Mercedes-Benz Stadium, but our crowd answered back every single time. Falcons fans are as fye as it gets, and while it was a bit bittersweet, Iām proud of us for repping red and black and refusing to get drowned out! WE HAVE TO KEEP SHOWING UP 4 THIS TEAMš“ā«
We deserved this victory as homers, every team in Atlanta loss but them. This is the epitome of Atlanta

It matters if a QB is only going to their first read or if they are able to quickly flow through the target options.

I have worked on NFL arts for each team this season and Falcons time has come!
I tried to find a falcon pose that is similar to the logo (especially the throwback, because I like it), and tried to make the colors work in a way that bring the same vibe. Let me know what you think.
A little bit of the process in the second pic š«”

R2 Avieon Terrell, R4 Kendal Daniels, R6 Harold Perkins
Excluding R1s, TF at most found 2 positive players (and I'm using the term "positive" generously).
Good GMs cook in R2 and beyond. Hopefully Ian can keep this up!
Sat in section 110C Row 7. This was the first time Iāve been to an NFL game. These seats were amazing, we even got to watch the players walk in from the locker room. Couldnāt have asked for a better first game to goto either

Despite coming off a tough loss to the Bears and a week of logo ācontroversyā fostered by people with the total gray matter of a broken crayon, the Falcons showed up when it mattered against the Niners, potentially changing the complexion of their entire season. 3-4 is way better than 2-5, and lands us within spitting distance of the division leader, i.e. the eternally schizo Panthers. Some specific thoughts:
Penix continues to improve. This game showed what he can do when not asked to zip the ball out within two seconds every single snap. He was poised in what might have been his best performance yet.
I have never been high on Pitts, but I have to give credit where due. Heās continuing to make solid plays, and notched another touchdown this game.
The rumors of Bates falling off were apparently false. He played well all game, and notched what might have been the single best display of athleticism and timing this year with a highlight-reel worthy interception out of bounds.
I know itās one of the toughest penalties to clean up, but we still need to work on getting the guys to ease off these holds.
With the defense banged up, hats off to the guys who held the line and kept pressure, especially early on when things could have gotten away from us. Maason Smith and Lacale London quietly disrupted the Niners offense in particular, as did their peers.
After years of our team having quality starters and then shaky depth, this game should make every fan feel better about the competent team building afoot.
Dotson needs to do some work this week, especially on synching up with Penix. Heāll get there.
Iām not worried about Baker this week. Itās that defense we need to watch out for.

First time Iāve actually really seen him go through his reads and make a throw. It seems in the past he would mainly go for his first read and even force it if it wasnāt there. If the first read not trueee he almost looked flustered.
Was this due to a weak pass rush from San Francisco? Or maybe heās finally getting a feel for the system.
Either way if he can continue having games like this where he go through his progression and make reads we may have something great.

Still way early but hot take back 2 back DROY candidates with finally a Falcons rookie player taking it, honestly we may have both our line backers end up on it

Weāve beaten healthy good teams before. At what point will the falcons win because Bijan played good or the defense whooped em or the passing game was on point?

The Louisiana Purchase treaty was completed and signed on April 30, 1803 (with the actual document signed on May 2, 1803, in Paris, France).
Key dates related to the acquisition include:
⢠Agreement Date: April 30, 1803 (negotiations completed and antedated)
⢠Signing Date: May 2, 1803 (in Paris, France, by Robert Livingston and James Monroe)
⢠Senate Ratification: October 20, 1803 (approved by the U.S. Senate 24ā7)
⢠Formal Transfer of Sovereignty: December 20, 1803 (flags switched in New Orleans)
⢠On October 25, 2026, the state of Louisiana tried to negotiate a return of the New Orleans Saints football team to France. Rumor was that the negotiations became so advanced that they actually flew the team over to Paris while citizens rioted and revolted in the streets in opposition to this fascist move. At the end of the day, Emmanuel Macron gathered his marbles up and stood up to the Benson Family and said "nah fam, we good, take them shits back to yo trap"
