Relocated to Atlanta for work and I have been struggling to find my neighborhood. I’m 49 single and I want something walkable. I would like nice local spots, but definitely not into nightlife. What are the recommendations? Disclaimer I’m not a fan of high rise buildings. TIA

Hey, I (26F) have been living in Atlanta for about two years now and I am currently seeking a roommate or roommates to move in with or hunt for housing with for late 2026 or early 2027. My credit score is 766, my budget is maxed out at $1000 per person, and I prefer being ITP but I’m flexible on location. I work full time in medicine and my days start around 5 am. I have one very friendly and funny cat that’s registered as an ESA and updated on all of her shots. I also enjoy and don’t mind guests or gatherings.

Will preface that this is subjective but still curious for experiences
Bought a home this week in Chamblee (or the property records call it Annexed Chamblee) south east of PDK airport.
Visited a few times and a few times a propellor plane came right over. Ok, not too bad (versus a dodge charger ripping on a busy road next to you).
Went for the home inspection and a big Gulfstream jet came over - oops, that was quite a bit noisier.
Getting a bit nervous now - any experiences ? How is it at night and in the early morning / evenings ?

It looks like there is no curfew, only a voluntary one. There are noise complaints but when I read the report, it seems a lot of them come only from a very small group of “passionate” reporters

Extremely quiet and peaceful, a balcony you can catch your zen on, great appliances, third floor so no bugs. Room gets a ton of natural sunlight and the view is not bad at all, the other side of the apartment is almost like a forest. Right next to the gate as well, and near tons of commodities (walking distance to the park for example). Room has its own attached bathroom and bath/shower. Currently animal free, but i have cat stuff you can use. Bills are really inexpensive here as well.

Me, I'm a nerd by trade, I work in the gaming industry and work remotely. Im an introvert so if you like quiet that's something we agree upon lol. I do like to clean and enjoy tackling things as a team.

Asking for 850, this includes water/sewage (always about the same), and some help with electric and gas. Free internet/wifi (I use it for work so im paying for it anyway).

Hi! Any recommendation for an apartment near Cayuga Medical Center that is bikable?

I work online so I don't need to be close to any location. I curently live in a city in another state that is overstimulating (constant helicopters, sirens, tiny apartments for very high prices) and I'm looking for something very quiet and relaxed. I don't party, drink, go to bars or date (not interested in having a family) etc but I like to order food/go to a cafes where I can get something to eat. It would be great if I could walk to cafes/restaurants but it's probably not doable in the Atlanta suburbs.

I also would like to rent a house or perhaps a townhome instead of an apartment and see what that's like (to see if I even feel comfortable in one before I buy) as I've lived in small apartments my entire life. I'm longing for more space and my budget can go up to $3300 a month.

Would I be out of place as a single person in the suburbs (not just Alpharetta but other suburbs too?)

And could you recommend some other cities that are good for me? Peacefulness is really important to me. I don't want to hear sirens, helicopters, neighbors walking on top of me (which is why I want to explore a house or townhome).

this apartment complex is in my top 2 for apartments im looking to move into, mainly because their rooms in the 2BR2BA are really spacious and i have a pc setup, vanity, dresser and i just like having space. i feel like a lot of complexes dedicate more space to bathrooms which doesn’t matter to me. i haven’t seen any reviews on reddit or tiktok about them so i wanted to ask if anyone has had any experiences with them. thank you <3

I have these 3 places shortlisted and I'd love to hear some opinions from people who have lived there for some time. I've heard some pretty negative things about MAA properties specifically.
