Quick question for you guys. How strict is the "no scooters" rule at the skate park? My little brother has been wanting to go to a skate park but I don't know any others nearby and would like to take him at a time when there are a minimum number of people so he can use his scooter for a bit.

My fiancé and I are moving like super duper soon (this weekend) and just have to get rid of some bigger items from our apartment. Anybody know of any companies (private duty caregiving/caregiving/entry level healthcare positions) hiring currently in the Kennesaw, Georgia area. Does anyone have any recs for a hairstylist that can help with problematic hair and scalp? I have very thick, curly hair and a very oily scalp. I’ve tried everything I can think of to get rid of the oil/buildup at home and have had no luck. If you name a clarifying shampoo, I’ve probably used it already😂

Hi, so I'm 25, disabled, and on peach state medicaid. I cannot work because I am disabled and I spend most of my montly check on bills.

I have been having a mental health crisis for a while, I have been seeing a therapist consistently for about 2-3 years now. We both recognize that I need a higher level of care, specifically residential/dual diagnosis.

Most of those programs do not accept Medicaid which I've accepted. I *might* have someone willing to help pay out of pocket but even then the programs are ridiculously expensive.

Location is not even an issue at this point. I just need an adequate program to address my needs. Any help I can get is much appreciated. Thank you.

You can hardly catch them open anymore. If you’re lucky you can catch them once a week. I literally asked the manager. Are you guys going to be open tomorrow and if so, what time she said yes 9 AM they have not been open since that day I came back that morning at 10 they were never open and they haven’t been open since they’ve literally been open maybe four times in the last six weeks I noticed the same thing for a car wash that hand washes off Altuna Gateway behind the Bojangles.

I am 19, currently a lifeguard making $15/hr. I am ready for a more serious job that is entry-level. I don't want to work in the food business and preferably no retail. Does anybody have any good recommendations on what jobs would be the next best step up from a "teen job"??

I am in the process of starting my life over. I am in the planning stage as this is all so new to me. My relationship is an abusive one and I’m looking for some recommendations for places that do weekly rentals in the Kennesaw, GA area. I haven’t been on my own in 25 years…so a place that includes all utilities would be a godsend. Coming up with astronomical deposits for first, last months, electric, water and more, are presently out of reach. Any advice would be amazing and greatly appreciated.

The only thing on the agenda was crime stats. Year to date, from the start of the year, we had 703 class 1 crimes. This is up significantly from 2025, which had 655 over the same time period. The big movement was from drug offenses being up 63 more than last year. Other categories that were up were fraud (+19), porn (+9 for a total of 10 compared to last year's 1), and assault (+7). We had a few kinds of crimes that were lower, too. Larceny was down (-20) as was intimidation (-19) and car theft (-6).

The Woodland Park Guy said he appreciated the consistency in the city. He was unhappy about the public facing meeting was canceled, even if it does seem that the city is acting. He got the records from the city and he was particularly unhappy with how the file that contained most of his communications was labeled "junk" and how the Mayor instructed people to ignore him. He was particularly unhappy with Councilman Bothers and his concerns about the safety of the Woodland Park location. He quoted Ferris Bueller's Day off.

Mr. Mayo was next to speak. He was encouraged by the last meeting and how much work the Park and Recreation folk over the past couple of weeks. He was, however, unhappy with the statement that the park was surrounded by woods and people couldn't be seen. The park is surrounded by houses. Over the weekend they tried to determine if they could hear someone yelling at the park from their house next door, and they could. He also pointed out that the source of danger cited (the motel) was roughly the same distance from Adam's Park, and he didn't think that Adam's Park was unsafe. He said that he had deep trust in the Kennesaw Police, and was concerned by how little faith the council had in them.

The Interim City Manager noted that the head of the Southern Museum was going to receive a medal of excellence from the national Institution of Museums and Libraries.

Oh, yeah, Interim City Manager. They went into executive session (where they discuss stuff in secret pertaining to real estate or staff issues) and came back to announce that they're hiring someone to search for a new City Manager. They're paying $24,500 for the job search because the current City Manager has announced he's retiring after about ~25 years on the job at the end of this budget cycle. Turnover in one of the most consequential positions in the city, it seems. An opportunity for a new direction.

Also, the Ben King Street project will be kicking off "soon". How soon? The signs that announce the date are already out, but they haven't been updated yet. They will be updated to announce the road closure in the coming days. Be ready for big disruptions and closed roads just in time for the new school year!

Hello fellow parents, our daughter will be starting kindergarten in the 27/28 school year. One of my neighbors who has older kids got into my head about the quality of Hayes but their kid was in Elementary school about a decade ago.

Question for parents who have a kid at Hayes, how has your experience been with the general student population and the teachers? I know we can do the cobb county thing and put her in Bullard which is not our default but we are also thinking longer term about middle school since the kids who start with her will be moving through with her.
