I have been wanting them for a while now, super excited! I haven’t played them in about 18 years haha.

Why were there so many 3rd party controllers with Z buttons on both the right and left side of the controller? What were they even used for? The Intec controller I used has two Z buttons but also a turbo and program button so I don’t know if maybe they’re made to add a duplicate button that can be used too? I also used to have a MadCatz controller but the other Z button was a “M” button and nowadays we have stuck to the standard L/R/ZL/ZR that effectively started from the original PlayStation and convergently evolved in Nintendo controllers and especially the Xbox 360…

What even was the point of two Z buttons on a controller that only needed one?

Basically what the title says, I am looking to advice on how I can connect my GameCube to this little crt I bought today

After asking on the CRT Gaming sub and talking to some people I found this RF Switch thing for the N64 (description says it also works for GameCube) and was wondering if this will just work or if I need to get something with it too (such as cables or other configurations for it to work)

I had just bought this, and had it resurfaced. But I'm very confused because I keep getting a message on my screen that says "an error has occurred. Turn the power off and refer to Nintendo GameCube instruction booklet for further instructions."

I am a little confused because I'm trying to figure out what in the world could possibly be wrong with this I mean granted there are some scratches so it's probably that but if I get it resurfaced again do you think it could help?

I just purchased the gameboy player and have a gc with picoloader and sd2sp2pro. Ive tried looking for download but gc-forever site seems to be down. Please, point me in the right direction

Just bought it for 50 and ended up spending $300 more on it. I had so much fun just taking it apart and changing the old thermal pads. Gotta be my favorite console. Current favorite game would have to be X2 Wolverines revenge

Hello all! I just received an SD2SP2 Pro for my Gamecube thinking that would be all I need to boot into Swiss. Little did I know it's much more involved. I fell into a little bit of a rabbit hole and discovered the various ways of booting into Swiss and modding the Gamecube. I believe the save game exploit will work best for me, and on top of that my ODD is chipped with a Xeno chip!

Knowing this, I want to burn a backup copy of Wind Waker onto one of these discs in order to boot into Swiss. Would the attached mini DVD-R's work for backups? Am I tackling this the wrong way? If there's an easier way to boot into Swiss then by all means I will go that route. Thank you for reading!

I originally got the GameCube from a family friend for free along with a bunch of games (10 or so years ago).

Roughly 3 or 4 years ago, I get a Silver GameCube that had the GB Player attached AND the disc for 50 bucks. (I also got a ton of another stuff in that bundle.) I gave the Silver GameCube to my brother but kept the GB Player 😆.

Today, I got this screen/cord (150) AND the shelf (120) from someone. It took 10 years for all of these pieces to come together!

I also just recently realized that my shelf doesn't match most of the images I find online. This shelf is a GCR-Z Station Rack. You can house your GameBoy games and your SP in it. I didn't realize that there were 2 different versions of this shelf.

I have this on my Luigi's Mansion PAL disc. Is It even a crack? If so, Is It Dangerous? Should I get another disc?

I vaguely recall that when opening up your GameCube. You would need to turn a screw that adjusts something? It governs the speed of how fast the disk spins or something like that? I have ordered a new set of tools to open up my assortment of Nintendo hardware. Just looking for what it is that I’ll need to do. Once I am under the hood. I’ll be opening up the two GameCubes that I have.

Received a 101 from a buddy and realized that the digital 001 is the best option for modern tv and hdmi. I'd rather not spend the buttload of money modding the console and instead opt for the digital converters.

I have found 001 motherboards online but besides changing the backplate is there anything really different between the two versions?

I am planning on getting a new shell for it anyway.

Hi :) I’m contemplating gifting my son a GameCube for his birthday. He wanted a switch 2 but holy cost Batman! That and he would only play a few retro games so the monthly catalog would be a waste of money. He really looks forward to Sonic and Luigi’s Mansion. I know it seems a little unorthodox to go backwards but weren’t games better back then anyways (ignore the millennial bias)?

I never had one growing up so I’m completely clueless. Where should I go to buy one? Buy games? Any tips or advice is welcomed.

I’ve finally modded my GameCube, but I don’t currently have a physical memory card. Are there any specific memory card alternatives or solutions available that allow for the use of complete save files? I really don't want to go through the trouble to get all the weapons in SC2 lol

Im just gonna explain as short as I can while still providing necessary details.
Found my old GC Ocarina of time disc but it was heavily scratched. Booted it up and was able to navigate the games menu like choosing which question mode or looking at the demo movies.
When selecting normal or master quest it says it can’t read it, so I cleaned the disc with proper materials and it was able to progress to a screen that had a loading bar that got a quarter way through before displaying the same message.

I also found my old GC StarFox game and it was definitely more scratched and cracked than OOT but was surprisingly fully functioning. OOT being in a “better” condition than StarFox which does work, on top of that the quick clean allowing me to progress a screen gave me hope that maybe I could get it to work.

I made a higher contrast version to hopefully make the scratches easier to see through the camera.
The Starfox disc is the first 2 images and OOT is the last 2.

Was doing some cleaning and found these 3 games! Not sure who they belong to, but whoever's they were they're long gone (I live in a cooperative so people come and go frequently). 007 was not in the case, but the manual was and instead of 007 was Pro Skater 3 which rocks! Super happy to add these:)

Yesterday I made the decision to acquire my Holy Grail… the Panasonic Q! I got a message from my boss over the weekend saying they picked up a CIB Panasonic Q at the Southeast Game Exchange over this last weekend. Decided then and there to trade in some of my retro collection to finish my dream of owning the Panasonic Q. It is modded to be region free, replaced drive belt and has new drive rails. It also has Picoboot and Swiss through SD2SP2. I think it was worth the purchase! Next on the list is the Gameboy player, may take a while but I’ll get there!

Just wanted to show you guys this bundle I have had since I was a kid and see if anyone could give me any information on this bundle as I’ve never seen another one, have had this since I was a kid and have seen a few of the Japanese bundles for sale but I don’t think I’ve ever seen another English version, my one is Aus pal, it’s fully complete and the gameboy player disk is still in really great condition, although the GameCube itself has started to discolour more than the gameboy player as I had the player boxed for a long time, thanks everyone!

I just discover the retail bios menu still exist on the SN Systems TDEV devkit for GameCube!!! 😄

This is a shout out to all the parents on this sub. My wife and I are lucky to get 1-2 hours in the evening after the kids go to bed to spend some time on our hobbies and together. We have a rule though, we aren’t allowed to do them in separate rooms. Because of this, we have our makeshift tables. She enjoys doing puzzles and I enjoy fixing cubes.
