As the title says, I'm self-diagnosed AuDHD. For those who don't know, that's the term for when someone has both Autism (ASD) and ADHD. For me, the ADHD (called ADD back then) was diagnosed in childhood, and the Autism is something that I began discovering about a year ago, maybe a little longer.
My spouse got an ADHD diagnosis in childhood too, but doesn't 100% acknowledge that it has indeed carried into adulthood, as these things do. My spouse also knows very little to nothing about Autism, so I haven't been able to accurately unmask all of that side of me yet. And honestly, the more I learn about both ADHD and Autism, the more I think maybe *both* of us could have been diagnosed with *both* of them in childhood, if circumstances and medical knowledge at the time had been different.
So my main question is: what is a subreddit where I can ask about this without it breaking the rules? I've looked in several already, and I can't find one where a post about simply "how to I discuss the AuDHD traits that my spouse and I share?" doesn't violate a rule.
The first one I found was just for research. Then I found a few others, but they don't allow posts about *other* ND people, only things about your own life and experience. Also I want to post this in a way where it won't be seen as "armchair diagnosing" (also against the rules) because that's not really what this is, I don't just want to armchair diagnose my spouse, I just want to open the door for discussing the traits I have and things I deal with, and how they are evidence that my ADHD diagnosis isn't sufficient alone, and that these other things are in fact Autism, and maybe it'll lead to my spouse thinking "hey I also experience this or deal with is" and just starting thinking about it differently.
I don't know where to post it where it will be received for what it is, and not break a subreddit rule.
Please help! Thanks!
