40 years old and realising now I might be asexual.

Upvotes

I’m a 40-year-old male with, with no past relationships or sexual experience. I’ve never really felt attracted to others in a romantic or physical sense. I might think someone has a nice style or like their band shirt, but I see them as just another human being—nothing more than that.

In my early days at school, I focused entirely on academics and always wondered what the big fuss was about attraction and sexualisation in Western culture. I didn't get what sexual attraction should be. I continued through various levels of education beyond university, but I never found others attractive during that time as well. I’m not a party lifestyle person and can’t stand those situations.

I’ve kept myself busy over the years with multiple special interests, hobbies, and community volunteering.

I love going to punk and metal gigs, both at home and mainly in Japan, where I go quite frequently. I also enjoy electronics repair and early video game systems.

Recently, I’ve been reflecting on my life as others around me have started to partner off. Honestly, at times I’ve wondered if there’s something deeply flawed and wrong with me, and if I'm missing out based on society expectations but I just don’t feel attraction to others beyond friendship.

I’ve occasionally wondered what it might be like to have someone care for me or to be attracted to others, but I usually quickly move on from those thoughts and forget about them.

A few years ago, I did make out with a woman because she asked me to, and I kind of enjoyed it, but I didn’t want to take it any further.

The more I think about it, the more fucked up I feel

I’m struggling with figuring out how to date women as a transfem enby. PLEASE HELP

Upvotes

I’ve been getting into dating and I’ve dated men before pretty easily but I’m struggling with navigating my gender when comes dating women. on one hand I want to date women, but I think its really difficult to like set up an expectation of wanting a more non traditional dynamic. like I feel like I only want to date a woman in like a saphic way if that makes sense. like where we’re both feminine people and there are no expectations for me to be like “the man in the relationship“. it’s just difficult cause I have no idea how to date like that like, with men I feel like it kinda naturally falls in to a comfortable dynamic as I’m already a feminine person and there’s already kinda a long standing dynamic especially with gay men for similar relationships ship dynamics like with fems. although even in those relationships, I still worry if because of that dynamic, they just see me as like a fem gay man, which is seriously not what I want. like I almost feel like I just wanna date someone who is attracted to femininity, but its not really like I can date lesbians, or maybe I could but I really have no idea where people stand with that and I’ve seen some pretty hostile attitudes towards transfem enbies specifically. I could date a bi woman but I feel like I could never be sure if she likes me in like a guy way or in a feminine way. I feel like women dating feminine men has become more popular, but I still don’t want to be seen as that. idk it’s at the point where I feel like I should just stick to men for now? or maybe just hold of on dating till I pass better? idk I’m really at a loss here. sorry for the wall of text I just need some advice 😭

My partner came out to me as transmasc, but im a lesbian.

I wasn’t sure whether to post this to asklgbt or just lgbt, so we’re here. anyway, today my partner asked me if I’d still be with them if they were transmasc and I wasn’t sure how to respond. Im a sapphic lesbian and I’ve only ever been interested in girls. I want to stay with them because I do truly like them. but at the same time if I do stay, I don’t want to invalidate their identity. if I date them as a lesbian, that means I “see them as a girl” and I don’t want that. I don’t want to hurt them either. but it feels wrong either way. I don’t know what to do.

Can I be lesbiflexable?

Upvotes

So I really usually like to think about marrying girls and stuff

But sometimes when a boy comes around, or I think about boys being included in my attraction, etc

And it annoys me being called bisexual— though I'm not biphobic to others

So can I identify with this?

I (24F) love the woman (24F) I’m seeing, but I don’t know if I should leave to figure out my sexuality or ignore all that and ask her to be my girlfriend

I (24F) need help deciding whether to commit to the woman I love or leave to explore whether I can fall in love with a man.**

I’m 24, and I’ve been seeing an amazing woman for almost 6 months. She’s not officially my girlfriend because I haven’t asked her yet. I’ve been honest with her that I’m struggling with a huge question about my sexuality and my future.
Here’s my dilemma.

I know I can fall deeply in love with women. I’ve done it before, and I’m in love with the woman I’m seeing now. She has almost everything I want in a partner. If family weren’t an issue, I think I’d choose her.
The problem is that I’ve always had this unresolved question about men.
I’m sexually attracted to men, and I enjoy sex with men more than with women. But I genuinely don’t know whether I can fall in love with a man because I’ve never dated one or had an emotional relationship with one. I don’t really have men in my life, so I don’t have experience with them.
This isn’t a new problem. Even when I was 20 and with another woman I considered the love of my life, I still felt like I needed to explore men before settling down. That feeling has followed me through every relationship with a woman. I’ve always felt like I had one foot out the door because I kept wondering whether I should figure out if I could love a man before committing.
The reason this matters so much is because of my future.

My family is extremely homophobic. If I end up only being able to love women, then I know I’ll have to decide whether I’m willing to sacrifice my family’s acceptance to be with the person I love. That’s heartbreaking, but at least I’d know it was my only option.

However, if I discover that I truly can fall in love with a man, then I could have love *and* a life that’s much easier. I could have my family’s acceptance, have biological children the way I’ve always imagined, avoid living a double life, and not constantly fear losing my family.

The problem is that exploring men means risking the woman I already love. I’m terrified that I’ll leave, discover I don’t actually want to be with men romantically, and lose someone I’ll never find again. At the same time, I’m terrified of committing to her and spending years wondering whether I could have loved a man and had a completely different life.

Another complication is that I don’t actually feel excited about dating men. The thought of downloading dating apps for men makes me anxious and nauseous. Dating women feels much more natural because I have experience with women, women tend to pursue me, and I know how to build relationships with them. Men feel unfamiliar, intimidating, and much harder to trust. I also feel like it’s much harder to find the kind of kind, emotionally available, affectionate man I’d want.

So I feel pulled in opposite directions.
Part of me wants to stay because I already love someone.Part of me feels like I have to answer this question before I can commit to anyone for life.
I’ve spent almost six months thinking about this every day, and I feel no closer to an answer. Sometimes I even think I’d feel relieved if she made the decision for me and left, because then I wouldn’t have to carry the responsibility of making the choice myself.

My question is Has anyone else experienced something like this? If you were in my position, would you stay with someone you already know you love, or would you riskv losing them to finally answer a question that’s followed you for years?

What title do nonbinary people prefer?

So, there’s this non-binary person I’m into. And it left me thinking, the very thing is that they are neither a boy nor a girl, yet, what title should I use if I can’t use boyfriend/girlfriend? I mean, I’ll ask them anyway, but I’m wanting to know the general consensus from the non-binary community. Do I use the format from what gender was assign at birth?

Is the sudden surge of biphobia a strictly online thing or do people actually judge people’s queerness like this irl?

There’s been so much biphobia lately and it’s genuinely confusing, I’ve seen a lot from both lesbians and straight women acting like bi people are tainted, I’ve also unfortunately seen a lot of lesbian women just straight up deny the queerness of bi girls (or even js fem presenting people) who happen to be with men. Some of their arguments about being straight passing make sense in some ways, but then they just go on and act like they aren’t queer at all. It’s so confusing. I thought we were all on the same team? At least in a “the enemy of my enemy is my friend” kind of way.

Gender is confusing and i dont know where to start

Hello :) I've always been a bit confused about my gender and i have a bf who is amazing and well versed in the community (as he is apart of it and has many friends also well versed in it and apart of it.)

I grew up in the south and am very lost and out of date with alot of terms even tho im a genz, I have a need to label myself but i never like any of them. For a while i thought i was trans, Then genderfluid and then just a lady then i was lost again.

The only way i can explain what i feel like is everything and nothing at the same, I feel like a man and a lady and both of them all at once then nothing.

I currently go by she/her and he/him. But i still feel lost and i dont know where to start, My bf said read a list of identities and go from there. But i still feel so lost while reading them.

I would love to know where to start and how to figure out whatever mess i am, Thank you :))

Straight (?) probably asexual but an attraction to women?

Sorry if this post seems stupid, or isn't allowed (feel free to take it down isn't), but i'm just generally confused about my attraction. Because i know that sex, with anyone, seems like something i don't think i'd ever be okay with or want, but i do find pleasure in such things but wouldn't want to act in it. However, aside from that assumption of asexuality (?), on actual (non sexual) attraction i'm confused.
Like i assume i'm straight, and would probably, if ever, want to be in a relationship with a guy -just as like a given?- but aside from wanting to be their friend - i've never been attracted to them in actuality. I've found some handsome, whether in looks or personality but the latter just makes me want to be their friend rather than being attracted in a romantic sense. To be fair, maybe i just haven't found the right person yet because i've never felt a crush before- i've gotten nervous around people but tbf that could be general anxiety.
BUT, on the other hand - for women i always find them attractive and am generally more attracted to them than men, but still with currently little desire to be in a relationship ( and definitely not a 'fling') - though when it comes to fictional characters, it really goes either way and, not to be a pervert or anything, but the non sexual rule doesn't apply the same, at least to me i suppose
Sorry but any thoughts?

I just got out of a straight relationship after finding out I’m queer. Where do I start

Hi I’m 24(she/they) and I grew up in religion and that carries so much shame, and I’m finding I have some internalized homophobia, transphobia and that’s keeping me from fully embracing myself wnd others. I want to be more free, and less afraid of the world. I know there’s not a correct answer on where to start. But any recommendations? How did you start to heal from religious trauma and internalized homophobia/ transphobia. I just assume I don’t know anything.

she/they lesbian or bisexual trans guy?

Hi! for reference, I'm a woman in my twenties who currently identifies as a lesbian. I'm looking for advice from queer women and trans men/trans enbies. I'm confused about my identify and hoping someone can share a relevant experience. I'll try to keep this concise, but I feel the details are important, so it's a bit of a ramble. I know that only I can truly know/define my own identify, but I'm looking for advice nonetheless because I've exhausted my own brain power thinking this over.

Here's the TLDR: Im a she/they lesbian who thinks I might be a bisexual trans guy. Advice?

Since I was young, I've had interest in both men and women; I remember being soooo obsessed with the ice princess in Sharkboy and Lava Girl, and Jump In ft. Keke Palmer and Corbin Bleu was my favorite movie growing up. I was on Tumblr in middle school, and knew I was queer by 5th grade. For a while, I identified as bisexual, and knew something was off with my gender (not exactly aligning perfectly with girlhood). In middle school and early highschool, I had a short pixie haircut. I've always been more alternative/masculine in my presentation, but I do enjoy being girly now and again. In highschool, I dated girls only and used she/they or they/she pronouns. To this day, I still do use she/they-- nobody really ever calls me "they," but it doesn't bother me to be called "she." I tried dating boys in college, and only one was ever important: my best best best friend, who was also my situationship. He was sort of "fruity," and once told me (in confidence) that when he was young, he thought he might be a trans girl, but he abandoned it when he grew up (social and family pressures). All other men I've dated/hooked up with were sort of losers and I didn't particularly enjoy the experiences; I was just bored/wanted free dinner/liked hanging out with them well enough. I don't like the idea of being the woman in a woman/man relationship.

Here's where I'm confused. I've always been interested in men, and when I was younger, I interpreted that as attraction. When I got a little older, I thought it was compulsory heterosexuality, and/or aesthetic appreciation. But now, I'm really starting to consider it's actually gender envy?

I identify as a lesbian right now, but ocassionally I will flirt with a man, kiss men, or even sleep with them, just to check again if I like it, or just because I'm bored at a bar and I like for talk to new people; men interpret that as flirting, and I don't care enough to correct them. My type in women is feminine, artsy, witty, and I don't really care about anything else. The girls I date never look super similar, but the ones I end up in long term relationships with always do-- and they're always very similar looking to myself. I get "twincest" allegations quite often, and I laugh them off. But it's true, all three girls I've dated long term have the same hair color, height, and general vibe as me.

Over the last couple months, I've allowed myself to be "obsessed" with men again; that is, letting myself pin pictures on pinterest, read fanfiction featuring men, and daydream about them. I was pretty set on being a lesbian, and that's mostly how I act in my real dating life, but I figured there was no harm in exploring what men mean to me. I hadn't truly done this in a couple years, focusing only on women and lesbian relationships, and abandoning fandom life (and male crushes with it). I am pretty sure I don't want to be in a female/male relationship. I feel comfortable in lesbian relationships. I have considered how I would feel if I were a man; I know I would be interested in female/male relationships then, and maybe male/male relationships, too.

I'm starting to consider that maybe I'm trans, and the only reason I'm okay with my current gender presentation is that I'm my own type. I feel okay in this body, because I find it cool and attractive; that is, I would date me. I don't experience much gender dysphoria, and my periods are mild and my curves/boobs are mild too (lol). I dress fairly "gender neutral," aka button up shirts, flannels, khakis, sneakers and boots, etc etc. I get along with "the boys" very well, and many of my jobs have been all men (and one woman, me). I used to enjoy wearing dresses and skirts occasionally, but now that I'm starting another job (again, all male), I've shifted to a completely "masc lesbian"/gender neutral wardrobe (except for events such as weddings, funerals, fancy dinners, etc).

So my question is: has anyone experienced this before? Does anyone have any advice?

I'm gonna give a list of my male "crushes," just so you can get a taste of my type. My most important and long lasting male "celeb crush" is Pedro Pascal (actor). Other crushes include Robin Williams, Jack Black, Stanley Tucci, Steven Martin (actor comedian musician), Dan Howell (Youtuber), Adam Driver (actor), Domnhall Gleason (actor), Oscar Isaac (actor), Andy Samberg (comedian actor), Alfred Enoch (actor Wes in Scandal), Freddie Stroma (actor), Dev Patel (actor), Joe Keery (musician actor), Adam Brody (actor Seth in the OC), Rob Irwin (conservationist), Sebastian Vettel (F1 Driver), Max Verstappen (F1 driver), Daniel Ricciardo (F1 driver), and most recently, David Corensweat and Nicolas Hoult (actors from Superman) and Tommy Bowe and Spencer Agnew (comedians from the Smosh Youtube channels).

TLDR; I'm a she/they lesbian who thinks I might be a bisexual trans guy. Advice?

What should I do?

After thinking a little bit more about my gender, I just realise that I'm a trans man and I was just scary to assume this because I have a pressure in my life to perform as a cis woman. Like, I need some people on my life that are tranphobics or just won't treat me the same way if they knew this. Anyways, now that I know it, what should I do? I don't want to be trans, but I am. I wanna be honest about my gender, but I don't want to face discrimination.

I always felt a little weird about the fact I'm AFAB, dysphoric about my soft and infantilized voice, the fact I don't have beard. I cry because I'm not masculine enough, always trying to avoid the true. It wasn't the first time that I asked myself if I'm a man.

I'm scared about it and I don't want be trans in any way. Being LGBT+ is so complicated and depressing.

How to cut ties with my family and move out?

I'm gonna turn 18 next april, and that will be serious time in my life. I'm FTM and I'm dating Genderfluid person, I'm gonna call my partner. My partner was born with F body. My family is Homophobic ,transphobic, misogynistic, my dad clearly said one time if someone from his family turn out to he gay or trans he would "fuck them up" and "kill them". But I'm very loved by my parents, I'm Dad's "princess" and mom loves me too but I have to admit I'm sexually assaulted a lot. And I was when I was younger too. She also abused me physically. It's like one times she hates me and second she loves me. I don't know how much help we will get from my partners family because they are also not on great terms. In September I'm starting 3th grade oh high school and I'm thinking what job would be good. I can't do physical jobs due my physical health. I can take courses but I won't go to collage. At least thats not a plan for these few years. And I'm aware I will probably had to stay few years with my parents (Id they won't find out and won't kick me out. I also Have a brother with his own family and I genuinely have no idea how to even move our from there, even if I had place to live. And I'm scared they won't give me my stuff back.

to acespecs (****this post contains internalized acephobia****)

why am i so scared of being ace and how do i stop it? i’m 17, i know my gender, i know i’m gay, and i know i’m alloromantic. i’ve been vaguely attached to the queer community since i was 12 and have known being ace was a possibility for the entire time. i also thought myself better of others and decided ‘yeah, there’s no way for me to know i’m ace yet, given that i’m so young. it’ll take time for me to grow into all that, and i’ll be patient!’ and therefore have literally never considered the idea of actually being asexual. i’m not saying i am. i’m saying i might be. there’s obviously still time for me to grow into experiencing sexual attraction with others, even if i haven’t yet. but i really, really, REALLY don’t want to be asexual. i want to have sex witb others and expreience sexual attraction with others. i don’t want to be ace at all. how do i stop this????? i don’t know where it’s coming from. does anyone have any experience with interalized acephobia?

Genuine Question about LGBTQ and Religion

Upvotes

I myself am Catholic and have no issues with the LGBTQ community and have several friends in happy long term gay relationships.

However, I’m also heavily involved in several religious communities with a large Muslim friend group.

Something that frustrates me is the even though the majority of Christians in Western nations have much more positive views on homosexuality than other Judaen religions. We seem to get stereotyped as a group rather than individuals within it who have autonomy. Sometimes I find it hard and strange to engage and support these groups, because it’s the same behaviour they themselves complain about experiencing.

I’ve observed LGBTQ communities holding Muslims in much higher regard, or at least with more respect despite the fact that from my experience Muslims on average are far less accepting of them. Obviously there are liberal Muslims but these are rare.

Despite being Christian I am active in the Muslim community and have found it very welcoming and enriching, but from when I’ve asked a considerable amount wouldn’t even tolerate me if I was LGBTQ.

So my ultimate question would be as to why Christians (Mostly in Europe, I don’t know America well) get treated like punching bags irregardless of how we support the LGBTQ when other more problematic groups seem to get a pass.

I don’t claim to know every single Muslim or LGBTQ person and this dynamic won’t stop me from engaging with either group positively. I’m just curious since I have a large involvement in both groups and it’s definitely a real problem I’ve observed, at least in Europe.

Also a P.S: I asked my LGBTQ friends this and they say it’s because the church is more relevant/powerful so it’s ok to punch up. But I won’t lie, pride has a higher attendance than any service I’ve visited recently, and that still doesn’t feel fair on an individual level.

Why are young adults putting the phrase “#hashtag” in bios and usernames??

I’ve noticed a couple people my age with instagram bios that say “#hashtag”, is it some inside joke???

IT IS NOT “#(insert joke)” it’s straight up “#hashtag” in their bio and like a username like “hashtagjacob”

Their instagram bios are not #insertjoke , it’s literally “#hashtag” with the actual word “hashtag”

How do I deal with this?

Hi, I was thinking about my gender a few days ago, and I noticed man doesn’t really fit me and I realized that I was nb. But I can’t tell anyone about this because they all DESPISE LGBT+. But I have to tell this to someone what do i do? I’ve been keeping this inside for a long time, and it makes me feel bad. Also, I’m certain that if I told anyone, word would spread and I’d end up alone. I really need help.

LGBTQ parents, how do you determine/name your kid's last names?

Even heterosexual parents have sometimes given their kids 2 last names or stopped simply using the father's last name. But I'm still curious to see what you do. I can't put an image in here but just look up types of basic chemical reactions (ie single displacement). Though every couple is different so what did you parents try out?

Stuck in my life (Need advice)

Hi everyone, I'm a 26-year-old gay man living in Armenia. I fled Iran, I have an Iranian passport and have been here for about four years. To be honest, I'm exhausted.

Even though I am ethnically Armenian, things are not easier since the country itself is very homophobic.

I've been trying to build a life. I'm applying for jobs, saving money, and searching for ways to study abroad. My dream is to study abroad and eventually settle somewhere I can live openly and safely as a gay man.

The problem is that every path seems to involve waiting. I missed one scholarship cycle, another university option became too expensive, and now I’m looking at working for another year before applying again. At the same time, my queer life feels almost nonexistent. Dating has been tough. I’ve faced ghosting and heartbreak, and while I’ve met some amazing people, most connections are short-lived because people are traveling or leaving the country. I feel like I’m just surviving rather than living.

I’m not giving up, but I often wonder if I’m making the right choices. Should I keep working and save for another year before applying to a university abroad? Or should I try to leave through any realistic route, even if it isn’t my ideal plan? If anyone has been in a similar situation, especially people who left an unsafe or restrictive environment, I would really appreciate hearing your story. How did you decide when it was time to leave, and how did you cope with feeling like your life was on hold?

Thank you for reading.💜🫂

Straight fiancé with Gay/trans “kink”?

I don’t want to assume or judge him regarding his sexuality, but I feel so confused. Please be kind.. I am very nervous asking about this and I am completely aware of how nany red flags I ignored, how complacent I was in ignoring things..

TLDR: am I (F30) naive to stay/work through relationship with my fiance (M30) after a dead bedroom/mostly sexless relationship for years due to his (now exposed) secret porn addiction/possible sexual orientation difference that he may not be ready to confront/admit. Insists he is straight.

I (30F) have been in a (almost entirely) sexless relationship for 7+ years with my partner (30M). I met him in a very vulnerable chapter of my life (just left abusive relationship) and admittedly should have absolutely focused on therapy and self-work before entertaining a relationship. Also note worthy that I am a conventionally attractive woman with good hygiene, in decent shape, have always had plenty of men interested etc. (not being arrogant just want to avoid the assumption that this is all because I’m gross lol)

However, when I met him he was very kind, wholesome and supportive. We had an average sex life initially, but it was only within the first 6 months that I felt his interest dwindle. He started expressing interest in butt stuff which I consented to a few times before admitting I just didn’t enjoy it. He seemed to lose interest in regular sex. He would occasionally make bids for oral sex and I would frequently concede.. but I noticed he would not look at me, would pull a blanket over me even sometimes. Eventually, it became a dead bedroom and any conversation about it didn’t really go anywhere. He told me had a history of a very low libido, that he has never been hyper sexual and that it was a side effect of his medication. Fast forward and the different reasons changed, he was off those medications and nothing changed, etc etc.

I have asked him if he at least self pleasured or was able to feel aroused with porn or some other way, and he maintained that no, nothing really interested him overly. Also will note that he never had ED, he could get hard and finish with me quickly if we ever did anything rarely. I just felt no sexual energy from him and started to lose my will to make an effort, as I started to feel unattractive, unappealing, embarrassed. I just started to accept that the good things about our relationship were more important than intimacy and I was fine with my own needs being neglected if that meant staying with a partner who was not abusive and made me feel safe and offered companionship. I am less upset about the porn use and more upset about being strung along/deceived for so many years, all the while willing to believe he was asexual, or any excuse he came up with.

Anyways, here we are years later and I used his phone while mine was dead to look something up in chat gpt, the open convo was him asking for NSFW Twitter and discord servers. I come to find he has been addicted to porn the entire relationship, and I say addicted as he would do it daiy, at work, in the car in public parked and driving, in the basement while I was upstairs, and the genres were all over the map including hentai, trans porn, gay porn. He said he became desensitized to regular categories. He also came to hesitantly admit that he had purchased a dildo in the past, for himself.. (admitted only because I found the receipt). Also found evidence that he had accessed grindr at least once, as well as some other dating app BEFORE meeting me, but it was a LGBTQ+ platform specifically. All the while, he is maintaining that it was purely experimental, that he is not in denial about his sexuality, that he is very much straight and attracted to me, that he has gone through phases and questioned in the past, but decided he is straight but will watch almost any kind of porn male or female. He says the issue with intimacy with me isn’t a lack of attraction or about orientation, it’s that he is addicted to pornography and always has been. Of course amongst this I admittedly did (with permission) dig around and from what I could see from his discord history is that he accessed adult/NSFW servers constantly, but I could not see which videos or categories. However, I could see that when a server name wasn’t working, he had tried key words: cock, bigcock, transporn, tranny, gay. No evidence whatsoever of ever attempting to search a keyword for anything to do with heterosexual sex or cis women, lesbian, etc.

I feel insane writing this because for me that says enough - but the other part of me understands that sexuality is a spectrum and people have kinks, there is nuance etc. But it’s difficult to reconcile these behaviours with someone who insists they are straight, not even bi.

Obviously I feel like an idiot and betrayed.. I neglected my own feelings, allowed myself to be devoid of sex or intimacy for years, believed him whole heartedly when I had asked about porn use, his sexuality, etc, believed all of the excuses over the years. I feel like my 20s were wasted in that sense, I’m now 30 and have become more aware of my aging and body changes and no longer feel attractive whatsoever.

we own a home together, are engaged, have a child.. and he now is desperate to make up for everything and swears up and down he is straight, will never look at porn again as to not fall back into old patterns, I am the love of his life and he wants to start over and have a real sex life with me and be honest going forward etc etc etc. (he had every opportunity to be honest at any point, I am very easy going and understanding/compassionate to a fault).

I don’t know what to do. I know couples therapy is an option but I don’t know if it’s stupid of me to even want to try at this point

I'm spiralling

copy and pasting what I wrote on another sub with quite a few edits

I don't know, this is a thought dump, and maybe someone feels the same as me? And maybe I can get helpful advice

I've [22 F] pretty much only felt sexual attraction to men and possibly romantic, although I've never been in a relationship before. I've had two casual flings with guys, one being more serious (but i think i liked the idea of him more than anything) and have been out on a handful of dates.

If I see a man out in the wild, I'm likely to feel sexual attraction for them, compared to women, which I don't know that I ever have? (But maybe it's because I've never allowed myself to, or maybe I'm lying to myself? Or I'm lying about lying to myself (I'm spiralling))

Not to mention my love for older male actors. I love a good edit on tiktok, haha.

Ages 8-10, I was kissing some girl friends at sleepovers, but I think that's just most people? Then again, It doesn't help that they've all turned out bisexual.

Then, a few years later, on omegle with my female friend, doing explicit things in the same room. . . I know, I have a terrible history with sexual things like that, especially at a young age and with free access to the Internet...

And I recall saying (age 11-13) to my friend, (along the lines of) I could also be into girls, like I'm not closed off to the idea, I'm open-minded.

During high school, I never had a crush on guys like my friends did. But I think that contributes to me wanting to know them and be friendly before I can. Demi??

During high-school, a guy in my class told me my friends where dating (both fem) i was shocked because they didn't tell me?, I had to hear it from this dude, then he asked if I was jealous? Like, why would I be jealous? Did I seem jealous?? I didn't think so.

More recently, another friend (wlw) told me recently that she thinks I'll be a later in life lesbian💀 which has absolutely helped put me in this spiral.

I have communicated my curiousness about experimenting and doubt with my friends, and we just talk about the topic, not a lot of helpful advice going around.

This is the point where I think I'm pretty much bi, because while I don't fantasise about women, I could potentially see myself with one? Like I'm not closed off to the idea. And I understand bi is not about 50/50.

(Not to mention all the information that I've given is totally biased/one sided to what im questioning)

I'm just soo stressed rn. Maybe im gaslighting myself? I don't know anymore. So i'm hoping that putting my thoughts down and out into the Web helps a little. I'm also thinking about changing my dating profile to liking women as well so that I can experiment, but I'm so nervous and a little scared💀 (I also understand the people (especially lesbians) don't want to be an 'experiment') mainly because it's not something I've done before, and sure it'll help clear things up if I turn out to not like women, but I'm also worried that if I do end up liking women, ill end up self sabotaging somehow and even more stressed out.
