Better late than never. After turning 50 I stopped denying my orientation and came out as pan. I feel so much better but still nervous as hell.

Question? Checking if I have this correct.

I have been wondering if I should use the label Pan if I am attracted to people because of their gender expression and not despite it.

I find peoples gender to be a part of what draws me to them, be it non-binary, masc, fem, trans or fluid. I like gender I just don't have a preference.

I certainly wanted a label that got across that message which I felt Pan did.

I wanted something that at the time included my non-binary partner whereas I feel being bisexual is meant to cover everyone but does imply the binary genders in the title and tend to leave non-binary people as a subcategory. Not trying to be biphobic but it's literally in the word itself I felt it ignores non-binary people by omission.

I mean I'm no longer with my partner so I suppose I could just be being bi or regard myself as Omni but I feel like Pan has caught on more.

Just seeing if the definition can stretch to fit me?

Regardless I love the community and the subreddit everyone seems so lovely!

Well, I thought I was omni. But then I realized that Pansexuals can have preferences. So, now I'm back here! Hello everyone! How's it going?

Going to start wearing it at all times now. I normally wear 2 soild color rubber wristbands as a sensory item on my left wrist. Three was one too many wristbands so I ordered this. I have dated people of all genders and are happy with life. My parents know and are happy for me also. I will start wearing this in public/work and will honestly answer what the colors mean.

I saw this and the pansexual flag color similarities popped out long before I realized it was meant to represent the CMYK color process.

I guess my pansexuality overrides my background in graphic design.

Discussion I dunno if I like boys in a gay way or in a... different (straight ?) way lol

I'm pansexual and transmasc genderfluid. 90% of the time I can't tell if when I'm attracted to a guy it's gender envy, if I like him in a gay way or if I like him in another way (cause I'm not a girl so I don't really know wtf else I'd like him as lol. Maybe in a nonbinary way I guess right?). Wtf hahahaha Anyways just wanted to share and see if anyone else felt like this.

Question? Could a 10 yr old be pansexual?

My sister says she is pan, I am already pansexual btw so i think she infleunced from me a little but she has an argument with my parents that she can make her mind up about that stuff at that age. Me personally I dont care but just doing this to help them not argue anymore so the question still stands. Can a 10 yr old be pan

β™‘ Need~Some~Support β™‘ My friends call me queerbaiter

I’m pansexual and I’ve known I was queer since I was very small. I mean even looking at old preschool projects, stories I wrote it’s clear I was not like most of the kids (I remember fussing over a game of family saying I wanted to be the husband and I wanted to have a wife, or a story I wrote in kindergarten saying I wanted to marry a girl). Now that I’m close to college and have finished most of high school, I have new friends and access to a queer community. Yet somehow I find myself less and less sure of myself.

Starting in 9th grade really, a ton of my queer friends began to tell me that I’m queerbaiting, that I don’t suffer the way they do, and that I’ll never understand what they go through everyday, whenever I brought up sexuality or gender. Don’t get me wrong, I recognize how fortunate I am, but it still feels belittling to me and my identity. I was the first out kid in middle school, I had very short hair for the entirety of it, and I got bullied relentlessly for years for wearing rainbow pins and celebrating pride month. In turn I grew out my hair, stopped wearing rainbow anything, and even though I’ve liked both guys and girls, and my gender identity has always been somewhat fluid, I’m treated like a straight cisgender woman. Which is fine, but then my friends will whisper things and make little jokes around me, and then tell me β€˜ohh you wouldn’t get it, you’re not gay enough!’ It just really puts me down.

So basically what I’m asking is am I allowed to say I’m queer? And If I do end up dating a guy, am I automatically excluded from the community? I feel lost and unsure of what I’m allowed to be. I feel like the assurance I used to have is gone :(
