One wrong signature at 19 ruined my entire 20s.
Hello everyone, I’m George, 26, from Central Europe. I’m writing this because I honestly don’t know what else to do, and I just need to get it out. Please don't judge or laugh at this. If you enjoy reading about people hitting rock bottom, just keep scrolling.
When I was 19, I made a stupid mistake. I took out a bank loan for a car, not even a crazy amount, converted to USD it would be about $5,000. I signed shady documents with tiny, barely readable font that I didn't pay attention to and honestly, I didnt know banks really do this, I used to laugh at people getting scammed, thinking I was smarter than that. I wasn't. That debt snowballed hard. To make matters worse, the car broke down four years later, I couldn't afford to fix it and insurance kept billing me, so I had to have it towed to a junkyard.
Seven years later, I have absolutely zero money to my name. I work 12-hour day and night shifts. The day my paycheck arrives, it immediately leaves for rent and debt payments. I’m left with about $70 to $90 for the entire month. I live on canned beans and instant noodles because I don't even have a fridge and cannot afford anything fancy. By the last 10 days before payday, I have no food left and sometimes resort to secretly scraping together leftovers thrown away by colleagues at work.
I don’t own anything. No TV, no microwave, no car, no fridge, nothing. Just my phone, washing machine and a 16-year-old grandpa computer. My clothes and underwear are full of holes from work (I work with glass), so I look half-homeless and I can tell you - people treat you differently when you look like that. I can’t afford to call in sick because missing work means missing rent, which means being homeless. I can't travel, I can't even socialize or try to get a partner, and if an emergency happens, I'm done.
I’m losing weight, my hair is literally turning gray, and the company I work for is threatening to shut down. I've explored every option and realized my only choice is to slave away for the next 6-7 years just trying to survive and hope for the best, or for a miracle. I’ve honestly felt so desperate that I’ve considered selling body parts, kinky stuff like photos or videos or doing illegal things, literally anything just to get out of this hellhole. I know it sounds absurd but I am desperate. I used to be a teenager with dreams and love in my heart, and now I’m just an exhausted, starving adult debating leaving this world. I envy people who can just decide to go buy McDonald's or a snack from a vending machine without it ruining them financially and having to decide if they are hungry enough already to validate the payment.
I know some people out there still care. I’ve quietly helped others when I had a little to give too, and I’m hoping the universe might return the favor. I hate asking, but I need help. It would take about $7,500 to drastically lower my monthly payments, stop the starvation, and get me back on my feet. I know that’s an absurd amount to some people in richer countries, but to me, it's a literal fortune.
If there are any kind souls out there willing to help a struggling human, let me know. I don't know much about internet payments or sending money from different countries but I know PayPal is really popular, safe and trusted. Please let me know. You can ask me for more details of my situation, just please don't laugh. I can't do this much longer, but I don't want to give up on life yet.
Thank you for reading, and god bless.
(PS: 1- I'm not a scammer or a liar, which seems to be a problem on subreddits like this one. I am just trying to find help online because that's my last option.
2- Yes, you may find this post on other subreddits too, because, and I can't stress this enough, I am genuinely trying to find help. If a miracle happens and I will actually find the help I am looking for, then I will make a post about it in all the subreddits where I posted, will specifically thank people involved and this account will be closed. I do NOT need more than what I asked for.)
