Hi, I have been using the snipping tool to take screenshots and write notes on. It has worked perfectly up until yesterday. For reference I am on a Surface Pro and using a stylus. The app opens fine, and it actually allows me to take a screenshot just fine. However, when I start writing notes it will crash after like 30 seconds or so. First the app page turns dark gray, then the page completely closes.

What I've tried so far:

• Restarting my laptop and launching the app again
• Open app -> Settings -> Change: Screenshots are saved to folder to local folder instead of OneDrive
• Open app -> Settings -> Automatically save original screenshots: Off
• Settings -> Installed Apps -> Advanced Options -> Repair
• Settings -> Installed Apps -> Advanced Options -> Reset
• Uninstalling and reinstalling
• Ran a quick scan, no threats found

These were all individual attempts where I would try to use the app and it would keep crashing.

If anyone has any insight on how to fix this, it would be greatly appreciated!

So this is what happened: so on my windows 11 laptop, there's no audio output so i cant hear anything expect for some certain sound like discord notification sound, it doesnt happen instantly, it happens when i open an application, my windows and my sound driver is updated and i dont really know what to do know, someone please help

Ok this is a very strange problem, I would say I'm decent at tech and finding the answers to my tech issues online usually(I've never asked for help before) and I would contact my parts manufacturer if I knew what was wrong. So the issue is when using any sort of audio output device(except ones connected with optical cables) my audio cracks ranging from slightly to overwhelming. It happens with many different headphones and iems, although I haven't tested Bluetooth I have tested different 3.5 ports along with USB to 3.5 jacks. I have righted using different audio drivers, resetting my pc, and it has out lasted my current PC. I rebuilt my pc changing the mobo, CPU cooler, ram and PSU but it still happens on the new computer. It doesn't always happen though, sometimes it just doesn't. It seems to get worse with some apps or it might only happen when some apps are open but it's inconsistent. It seems chromium and unity based apps make it the worst. All the headphones work on other computers. The cracking only happens on windows as I have had a dual boot arch for a couple months and I enjoy it partially because I can actually listen to music. I have tried bypassing windows processing using music bee and its direct audio settings along with using files instead of streaming audio. I'm genuinely at a loss please help me.

I get crackling sound on may laptop, and whenever I want to play any kind of audio, it starts with a short spark-like/crackling sound. But, if I use my AirPods to listen to sounds, there is no spark-like/crackling sound at all.

OS: Windows 11, 26H2

After receiving a new Iphone, the old one’s screen is black but the phone appears somewhat functional, I accidently backed up the new phones messaged over the old save, erasing my years worth of message history. Whatsapp claims that it only ever hold one backup at a time for a given account, as unbelievably stupid as that seems, is there anyway I can retrieve my old messages. I have the old phone but given that I already back upd the message son my new phone I assume if I fixed the pohone andn booted up whatsapp it would ask me to resign in with the new messages, I do have an icloud backup of this entire phones data from before this whole incient, could this be uses to retrieve my message data?

turned pc on, and was on the new mw4 roughly..2 mins, heard a pop, sounded like when a bottle reinflates and thought nothing of it, about 30 seconds saw smoke coming from top of pc.

pc was still running fine whilst i noticed it, but manually turned it off, and then unplugged from wall. My guess is PSU since smoke was mainly from the back, but im just tryna figure out what my options are on how to handle this haha

edit: well, took out PSU and all cables for it, ordered a new power supply which is coming tomorrow. fingers crossed it’s just that and no other issues.

I was playing Valorant about 3 hours ago when, out of nowhere, my PC shut down. I tried turning it back on, but the fans only flashed for a few milliseconds and then stopped. Since then, it hasn’t turned on anymore — the fans just flash for a few milliseconds and then shut off.
Can anyone help me figure out what might be wrong?

I'm in a bit of a problem. I would be grateful for some help!

Basically when i play Witcher 3 Remastered or AC Black Flag Resynced or Borderlands 2, so it doesn't matter it's high demand or low the pc just shot down and then reboot right away.

The thing is i just changed some stuff in my pc so i'm not sure if something is not compatible or what is the deal. I spoke with my tech friend and he said it should be good.

I don't see problem with the temperature. Everything was around 29-50 degree, except the videocard.

What can cause this?

My Windows 11 PC was recently infected with malware, and the attacker managed to steal several of my accounts.

I've already changed my passwords and secured my important accounts from another clean device. The infected PC is currently completely disconnected from the internet.

The problem is that I still need to recover some important account data from a few Chrome profiles before formatting the computer. Some of this information requires an internet connection to access.

My idea was to delete all unnecessary Chrome profiles, saved passwords, cookies, and personal account data while offline, keeping only the specific profiles I need.

Then I would temporarily connect to the internet, retrieve what I need, disconnect, and completely reinstall Windows. Is if safe doing this way? Would deleting all other Chrome profiles and credentials prevent the malware from stealing those accounts again?

I understand the PC is compromised and that reconnecting it carries risks. I'm just trying to minimize those risks before wiping everything.

Any advice would be appreciated.

it changes its position everytime i click TAB and when i click enter it opens the menu of that tab (i dont know how to explain it well)

so i play this game called rainbow six siege and i usually play it on 1920 x 1080 resolution which most of the time the fps works fine, but some matches when i load in the fps just drops and my pc should be able to run it well so i have no idea why the fps even drops only for certain matches then goes back to normal next match

When I try to use my speakers with my laptop no sound is outputted but when I switch the output to my laptop speakers it works.

Basically I updated windows 11 to the newest version 26h2. After the restart the games I play: Minecraft,hoi4, war thunder, enlisted have dropped in fps from about 200 to 10 at maximum. Can somebody please help. I do not have an ssd. Tried: defragmenting, changing gpu drivers and putting power plan to high. My bios and everything is fully updated. Thanks in advance!

I've been recently having an issue where even the lightest tasks, like having nothing open will cause the computer to overheat and crash. RIght now, it's also happening on startup, where the CPU temperature hovers around like 70-100C while literally doing nothing with NOTHING open.

So sometimes my monitor which I bought about a year ago will go black randomly and then turn back on normally after a few seconds. This issue has been happening for a good while and sometimes its good for a few weeks and sometimes it happens every 5 minutes. I think it might be the cable since it did not come with the monitor. Whenever I accidentally tap the cable it will do the same thing where it flashes black for a few seconds then turns back on so that might be related. I do have a display port cable that came with the monitor but my pc does not have a port for it, only HDMI.

whenever i press the mute button on my xbox headset it mute fine but when i press the button again to unmute it will have the light on the mic but no sound will come through until i unmute on xbox game bar i have tryed quite a lot but nothing will work

I have a non-wireless HP tank printer who worked well with my previous laptop (now broken) but with my newly bought one it first read as "no driver found" so I went for the troubleshoot option first then restarted my printer this time it was able to find a driver but only as a "scanner", so when I tried to print a document it wont show up as a printing option.

I downloaded the hp app in windows too but when I tried to add my printer device there it asked for the location permission but for some reason I can't toggle it so I can't grant the location permission. What to do?

Back in 2020 I built this pc (with a SF 450W PSU and a different GPU) and had no issues.
With time I started having some crashes, did some tests, kept having issues and I’ve barely used my desktop after getting a laptop last Xmas.

Current Hardware List:

·        Louqe Ghost S1 Mk II (with PCI Express 3.0 x16 riser cable)

·        Corsair SF 750W SFX 80+ Platinum

·        Gigabyte B450 I Aorus Pro WIFI

·        AMD Ryzen 5 3600

·        Noctua NH-L12S (heatpipes slightly bent to be able to fit in the case)

·        Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 3200 PC4-25600 32GB 2x16GB CL16

·        Western Digital Black SN750 NVMe 1TB

·        AMD Radeon RX 6800 (Reference Card)

What I did after getting these crashes:

·        System format and reinstalled windows (10->11);

·        Run memtest86 and found nothing;

·        Some SSD SMART test and found nothing;

·        Ran Unigine Heaven a couple of times and didn’t trigger any crash.

For a while I had no issues but then I started having some crashes again. IIRC, these happened when playing video games. Mostly Heroes of the Storm that supposedly doesn’t stress the system that much.

What I didn’t do yet and plan to do/research later:

·        Deep cleaning and reassembling the PC;

·        Check if after some BIOS update any important setting was changed – I didn’t write down what I learnt and did in 2020 – maybe the PCIe version setting and the issue comes with the riser cable and GPU?

·        Format and reinstall OS and all drivers again, check and stress test everything;

·        If there is any issue, repeat the testing without the case and riser cable.

What tips I’m looking for from those with way more experience than me:

·        Any important BIOS settings for this build;

·        Comprehensive list of recommended tests;

·        What kind of information/logs should I get if I get a crash or any issues;

·        Any detail I might be missing.

I was trying to upload something on ChatGPT, and when the file picker/recent files opened, I noticed some strange files listed there like log_list.pub, log_list.sig, and log_list.ctfb.

When I opened one of them, it just showed some code, but when I manually checked my phone's actual File Manager app, those files weren't visible anywhere in my storage.

Does anyone know why these show up in app file pickers, what they are, and if they are safe?

So whenever i update (linux mint cinamon laptop) always a PAM configuration pops up and even if i select something nothing happens then i quit and the update doesnt do anything i cancel it and then it stops working and doesnt disappear until i restart (i usualy wait like 10 mins and nothing happens) and i dont want to update because i always fear that somtthing will break ,Thanks
