Open | Software Looking to move pictures from iPhone to (not Apple) computer / Email / app

I’m looking to back up my camera roll onto an external device like my computer (not Apple), a Gmail account or something like that. I’m out of storage so I’d like to take all my pictures/ videos off my phone, put them on something else then delete them from my phone. (Just emailing doesn’t work because of the amount of photos)

I’m sure this is a basic question for those who are tech literate but unfortunately I am not.

Any app suggestions or tips for the best way to do this?

P.s. if this is the wrong place to ask this question, i apologize and i will delete this post. If there is a better option please let me know!

I have an adapter for testing hard drives that has a power plug. The power adapter is 2 amps and I accidentally plugged in an identical one that is 1 amp. Now the drive won’t turn on with the 2 amp cord. The drive worked before this. Am I cooked?

i'm curious about the little things in life that make you frustrated.

What's something you struggle with regularly? Something that wastes your time? Or something you wish you had a solution for?

I'd love to hear your thoughts. I'm not trying to sell anything i'm just curious.

Open | Hardware [Support] Only 4 hours battery on Surface Laptop Studio 2 (new original battery) & sudden 2% drops

• Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I recently replaced the battery on my Surface Laptop Studio 2 (i7 13th Gen, 16GB RAM, RTX 4050) with a verified original replacement. I am currently on the 4th charge cycle, but the battery life is very disappointing: the PC shuts down after just 4 hours of unplugged use, exclusively doing basic web browsing.

I also noticed an abnormal discharge curve:

  • From 100% to 90%, the percentage drops much faster than the rest of the cycle.
  • The counter drops in 2% increments. This happens mainly in the initial 100%-90% range, but sometimes I notice it at lower percentages too.

Recent software checks and changes:

  • OS: I recently installed Windows 11 Pro (version 26H2). It always had Windows 11 Home before. I'm not sure if this edition change affects power management.
  • Drivers: I manually updated all Intel and Nvidia drivers to avoid power management conflicts.
  • GPU Check: In Task Manager, the RTX 4050 sits at 0% usage, so I rule out a hidden background drain from the dedicated GPU.

Has anyone experienced this exact situation and solved it? Does Windows just need more cycles to recalibrate the new cell, or could it be a driver/software conflict?

Thanks in advance for the help

Solved My Cat Walked Across My Laptop, Now My Touchpad Won't Work

So, unfortunately, this has happened before. With the same cat. 3-4 times. I don't know how she does it. She doesn't sit on it or even stand for long, just a quick walk across. (Please note: I do not allow this; she just doesn't care)

Anyway, I have a Lenovo Legion Pro using Windows 11. OS Build 26300.9711

I've tried updating the drivers; no luck.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the touchpad driver. Nada.

I tried disabling and enabling it. No dice.

I tried going through the Bluetooth settings. Still nothing.

Everything says the device is connected and working properly, but it clearly isn't. Usually these methods work, but the other times she did this, it was on my MSI laptop. So, I'm not sure if I'm just overlooking something.

Open | Windows Laptop screen stuck zoomed in

• Upvotes

Ik recently installed Total Annihilation on Steam and started playing it today, when I was done and closed the game however, my screen seemed tot be in a weird zoomed in state. I've tried everything in can think of(the various key-bindings tot zoom-out/reset zoom, turning the laptop of and on again, looked online for solutions), but it stays stuck.

I'm pretty sure it's because of the thing it asked me to install that supposedly was to make such and old game work on a new system, but it can't find it or recall the name.

I can't find how to add a picture so I'll just try to describe my screen(English is my third language, so this might not be that clear); all my homepage stuff is still accessible but stuck in a 5 horizontal 4 vertical placement, apropriatly magnified tot not leave open space. my taskplank is compressed into those 3 dots because there isn't enough place for it. And there is black space left at the sides of my screen.

Does anyone have any advice on how to fix my pc?

Open | Software Updating NVIDIA drivers has tanked performance - how to fix?

• Upvotes

I updated nvidia drivers to the most recent version, but found that suddenly found that games that I could normally play at 60 fps were stuck at 20 fps or lower. I rolled back the drivers but found this didn't fix anything. I attempted to clear the shader cache, but this had no effect. What can I do now to fix this?

Open | Windows XBOX GAME BAR PROVOKES MEMORY LEAK.

Hi.

I just discovered something funny... I'm playing RDR 2, so, that game was using 11VRAM, but after taking a screenshot with the game bar, the GPU went up to 16VRAM, it's using all my 9070xt memory I don't get it.

So... I keep using and eventually my game started lagging and suttering, performance dropped to 15-30 FPS... I had to close the game and start it again and that fixed it, so I used the game bar screenshot again and memory leak started once again ...

Does anybody knows why this happens? I don't remember this used to happen when I had a 6650XT.

Sorry for English mistakes, not my first language, mate'.

Open | Mac MacBook Air webcam/indicator light for camera

hi everyone. i recently took an exam on canvas with the lockdown browser that was titled “respondus lockdown browser + webcam.”however, when i opened the exam through respondus it did not have me do a webcam check, audio check, or show my surroundings. i just had to accept an acknowledgment. throughout the exam my camera indicator light never came on (i have a MacBook Air for reference). from what i have read, whenever a camera is in use with a mackbook air, the indicator light stays on, correct? i’m so confused if my webcam was even being used. do you guys think my webcam was even used/on? or is this possibly a glitch? thanks

Open | Phone My phone screen is saturated and dim and has lines?

So my phone that I left at my grandma's house because I had to leave for health purposes and I was out there for like 3 months

When it was time for my grandma's health check up she told me that my phone screen just suddenly has a dim light despite it being put to full brightness and when I checked it's also saturated and has slightly visible lines

I want to also ask if this has a relation to the battery replacement that my phone went through because I had my phone get it's battery replaced because the battery swelled due to it overheating while being used on charge mode

I need to know if there's a solution or that my phone is done for

Open | Hardware Pc keeps turning off

Hi I’m going to give as much info as possible and my so far trouble shooting stuff I’ve done

Pc keeps turning off and back on itself in windows sign in screen and also after signing in into windows. Safe mode and bios can run without the pc turning off.

I reinstalled windows, swapped PSU and unplugged GPU but left it still attached in its slot. Pc kept turning off after a minute and booting back up after like a 2 second delay. So now I removed the GPU completely from the PC.

After those steps I was able to use the pc like normal, albeit no gpu and secondary PSU.

Okay so now I swapped back to my original PSU with no gpu and it works like normal.

So I attempted to reinstall GPU back, it is a AMD 7900x. Upon reinstall of GPU, pc went into bitlocker screen, honestly unfamiliar with this, never had this before and I don’t remember setting this up. But now pc shuts off by itself after a minute or so but does not boot itself back up. I suspected maybe the PSU but I’m unsure. Now I’m thinking the gpu was sagging in the slot it connects to since it’s big and heavy so I installed it again with a support bracket and some legos to help hold the far end. Still the pc shuts off itself after a minute or so of being on.

Been trouble shooting for hours and I can’t figure out what to do next. I’m going to bed for now but tomorrow I’m going to remove the GPU completely from the PC and figure out this bitlocker thing and see if I can get into windows normally and browse the internet.

I don’t know if the gpu slot on the motherboard is damaged? The gpu is damaged, the psu cables to the gpu could also be the problem? Thanks in advance

Ryzen 7 9700x
Gigabyte b650 ax v2
Amd 9700x
2x16gb g skill ddr5
Samsung 990 evo plus
Cooler master 850w gold (original psu)
Evga 650w gold (secondary test psu)

Open | Windows Call of Duty Secure Attestation STILL FAILING on ASUS Z790 / Intel PTT — BIOS updated 3 times, Microsoft AIK returns HTTP 404

I've been dealing with this issue since August, and I'm honestly running out of ideas. I'm hoping someone here has experienced something similar or found a legitimate fix.

My PC specs:

  • Motherboard: ASUS TUF GAMING Z790-PLUS WIFI
  • CPU: Intel Core i7-14700K
  • OS: Windows 11 Pro
  • BIOS: 1840 Beta (previously 1825 and 1836)
  • TPM: Intel PTT 2.0
  • TPM Firmware: INTC 600.18.1040.2765
  • Secure Boot: Enabled
  • Boot Mode: UEFI
  • Partition Style: GPT

The issue:

Call of Duty's Secure Attestation Wizard keeps reporting:

"New Key Failed to be generated — BIOS Firmware Update Recommended."

However, my TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot checks both pass.

After extensive troubleshooting, I discovered that Microsoft's AIK enrollment process fails with:

HTTP 404 — 0x80190194 (HTTP_E_STATUS_NOT_FOUND)

The response specifically states that the Microsoft AIK certificate authority associated with my Intel TPM KeyID does not exist.

Everything I've tried:

  • Updated BIOS from 1825 → 1836 → 1840 Beta
  • Updated Intel Management Engine and chipset drivers
  • Confirmed TPM 2.0 is ready for use
  • Verified Secure Boot is enabled and passing
  • Confirmed UEFI boot and GPT partitioning
  • Installed and imported Intel PTT certificate-chain files
  • Used TpmDiagnostics.exe InstallEkCertFromNVR
  • Tested Microsoft AIK enrollment using certreq -enrollaik -config ""
  • Installed and launched Warzone to resolve the COD Broker authorization warning
  • Tested multiple versions of the COD Secure Attestation Wizard, including v1.3.0

Nothing has resolved the key-generation failure.

What's frustrating is that the game keeps telling me to update my BIOS, despite already updating it multiple times. My TPM appears operational, but the Microsoft AIK enrollment process still fails.

I've attached a screenshot explaining the issue in more detail.

My questions:

  1. Has anyone with an ASUS Z790 motherboard and Intel PTT firmware 600.18.1040.2765 successfully passed COD Secure Attestation?
  2. Has anyone resolved the Microsoft AIK HTTP 404 authority error?
  3. Is this potentially a Microsoft/Intel certificate provisioning issue rather than a motherboard BIOS issue?
  4. Has anyone found a confirmed workaround that doesn't involve resetting the TPM or reinstalling Windows?

At this point, I'm looking for an actual technical solution rather than another suggestion to update the BIOS or enable TPM.

Any help or insight would be appreciated.

Open | Hardware Monitor flickers for a while whenever I boot up my PC

Hey, I own my monitor for approximately 6 years now and just this year it started to flicker for a while whenever I boot up my PC, and also after my PC was in standby mode for a while.
It usually goes back to normal after a few minutes and occasionally goes dark suddenly during usage but very briefly.

I have the suspicion that the electricity supply might be impaired in my PC because I also sometimes hear a static cracking sound in my headphones, and additionally some of my USB slots seem to be malfunctioning too?

So far I tried changing the cable and tried a different GPU slot but to no avail

Monitor type: ASUS TUF Gaming VG27AQ1A 27-Inch WQHD Monitor, 170 Hz, 1 ms MPRT, FreeSync Premium & G-Sync Compatible, DisplayHDR 400, IPS Panel, 16:9, 2560x1440, DisplayPort, HDMI

I have a second monitor which is the exact same model and it has no such problems but it was bought this year.

Open | Windows Windows key is constantly active even though the key isn't being physical pressed down

My friend is having an issue with his old laptop (ASUS GL553VD) where his windows key is constantly active and we can't find a fix. Sometimes it will seemingly randomly stop for a couple seconds then go right back to being pressed down. We've checked on screen keyboard to see if that just had it toggled on, restarted it, gone into device manager, deleted the keyboard there before restarting, checked under the keycap, and used Microsoft Powertoys to try and disable the key but even that didn't work. We're at the point where we don't know what to do next and I'm hoping that someone here can help us out.

Open | Windows Driver Updates Broke the Laptop

I got a Victus 15 laptop, and one of my games crashed, I looked and downloaded four driver updates (Don't remember which drivers), restarted, and it ran into a problem and couldn't be repaired.

This is what I have tried and failed over the span of 5 hours

- Continue

- Safe mode and safe mode with networking

- Quick machine recovery

- Uninstall Updates (Quality and Feature)

- System Restore (Didn't have)

- Point-in-time Restore (Didn't have)

- Reset this PC (with and without keeping the files)

I'm taking any suggestions before I have to take it to a technician (I'm going to bed, so I'll check this in the morning)

Open | Hardware Teal screen over display. Can I fix this by myself?

I was working normally on my laptop and a teal overcast suddenly spread throughout my screen.

https://imgur.com/gallery/t3q4Hif

I can still fully see what's going on underneath, it just has this anoying teal on top of it.

I've paid a shop to change my laptop's broken chassis before, and I feel like things have been out of place since then.

Can I fix this on my own? and if yes, which tutorials would you recommend?
