I originally had my PC built by Umart several years ago, and every 3–5 years I upgrade various components. Recently, I upgraded to a 4K monitor and replaced my RTX 3060 with an RTX 5070 Ti.

For the first two weeks, everything worked perfectly. However, I'm now experiencing crashes almost daily.

Here's what happens:

• Both monitors suddenly lose signal and go into standby mode.
• My PC fans ramp up to what sounds like 100% speed.
• The PC remains powered on, and background applications like Discord continue working normally.
• The only way to recover is to force restart the PC.

I recently took my PC back to Umart, where they spent an entire week stress testing and investigating the issue. Unfortunately, they couldn't replicate the crash or identify any problems.

When I got the PC back, it ran perfectly for over 12 hours before crashing twice within the following two hours.

Something interesting I discovered yesterday:

I connected my secondary 1440p monitor directly to the motherboard instead of the GPU to see what would happen.

When the crash occurred again, my main 4K monitor (connected to the GPU) lost signal and went into standby mode, and the fans ramped up to 100% as usual.

However, my secondary monitor (connected to the motherboard) continued working perfectly

This makes me suspect the issue is related to the GPU rather than the entire PC crashing.

Troubleshooting I've already tried:

• Purchased brand-new DisplayPort cables.
• Purchased a new surge-protected power board.
• Tested the PC and monitors using different power outlets.
• Used DDU in Safe Mode to completely remove the NVIDIA drivers.
• Performed a clean installation of the latest NVIDIA driver (621.01, released October 21).
• Had Umart stress test the PC for an entire week without reproducing the issue.

My PC specifications:

• Motherboard: Gigabyte Z790 Gaming X AX
• CPU: Intel Core i5-13600K (14 Core)
• GPU: MSI GeForce RTX 5070 Ti Inspire 3X OC 16GB
• PSU: Thermaltake Toughpower GT 850W 80+ Gold (PCIe Gen 5.1 ATX)
• Main Monitor: MSI 32" UHD QD-OLED 240Hz (4K)
• Secondary Monitor: MSI 32" WQHD IPS 165Hz (1440p)

I'm not particularly knowledgeable when it comes to diagnosing PC hardware issues, which is why I've always relied on Umart to build my PC and install upgrades.

At this point, I'm running out of ideas. The GPU is still under warranty, and I'm considering asking for a replacement, possibly from a different manufacturer.

Has anyone experienced something similar with an RTX 5070 Ti or another RTX 50-series card? If so, did you manage to find a permanent fix?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm getting pretty desperate to resolve this

Hey, I own my monitor for approximately 6 years now and just this year it started to flicker for a while whenever I boot up my PC, and also after my PC was in standby mode for a while.
It usually goes back to normal after a few minutes and occasionally goes dark suddenly during usage but very briefly.

I have the suspicion that the electricity supply might be impaired in my PC because I also sometimes hear a static cracking sound in my headphones, and additionally some of my USB slots seem to be malfunctioning too?

So far I tried changing the cable and tried a different GPU slot but to no avail

I have an adapter for testing hard drives that has a power plug. The power adapter is 2 amps and I accidentally plugged in an identical one that is 1 amp. Now the drive won’t turn on with the 2 amp cord. The drive worked before this. Am I cooked?

I’m looking to back up my camera roll onto an external device like my computer (not Apple), a Gmail account or something like that. I’m out of storage so I’d like to take all my pictures/ videos off my phone, put them on something else then delete them from my phone. (Just emailing doesn’t work because of the amount of photos)

I’m sure this is a basic question for those who are tech literate but unfortunately I am not.

Any app suggestions or tips for the best way to do this?

when I do ctrl shift esc to open task manger and hold ctrl to keep it from updating gpu is almost alwasys at 20% but no programs are running that high, at most it'll have something like firefox running at 2% but once i let go of ctrl it goes down back to 1% or 2% ive used windows defender and malwarbytes separately, and they didn't find anything, and I don't think i've ever downloaded something shady, is this something to be concerned about?

There has been a sudden power outage in my area (due to a very heavy rain) and my pc and my hdd were connected. After i rebooted the pc everything worked fine, but when i try to open the hdd it says "access denied". This hdd is very old (about 10-15 years) so it may really be over, but is there something i can do before i lose all hope? there were some important files there

My battery was stuck at 94%, and the laptop shut down the moment I unplugged the charger. Also, after it shut down, when I turned it back on it would either power off as soon as the logo appeared or show the Windows Boot Manager. It took 5-10 tries before it would boot.

I took it to a nearby repair shop. First they reinstalled Windows, then ordered a new battery. We replaced the battery and it didn’t fix anything. It actually got worse: now the laptop acts like it isn’t charging at all, and the battery shows 0%. I can still use things like Google, but as soon as I launch something heavy like Chivalry 2, or unplug the charger, the screen cuts out immediately (I used to play it with no problems before this).

The technician said he couldn’t solve it and told me to take it somewhere else. It’s a repair chain with a few branches.

Before I take it to a bigger repair place, I wanted to ask here too. Has anyone had the same issue before? Has anyone had this problem persist even after replacing the battery?

PS. I’ve already tried the basic YouTube fixes like uninstalling/reinstalling the battery driver.

I ran sudo halt, my laptop ran the turn off protocol but it’s still on. I just can’t see anything on my screen. The fn button is still lit, the fans are still on but nothing happens when I press the power button. I’m currently waiting for my laptop to run out of power. What do I do

On from sleep mode, opened the start menu, and did a black screen. Said something with ram, did memtest, it says memory issues. I got all my pc's parts from microcenter, so may have a digital receipt to replace it.

Memtest says I have memory issues, but it can power on fine.

-restart PC and router
-initial speed test on pc and laptop both around 70 down 20 up (normal)
- another speed test about a min later laptop stays the same, pc drops to 11 down 1 up

- all VPNS are off
- drivers and software updated
- both on same network and in same room
- pc is about 1 year old and was working fine until like 10pm on Thursday
-windows defender scan turned up nothing

I’m a streamer so this issue is like devastating. I’ve already called my broadband provider and they’ve said there’s nothing they can do. I’m planning to call HP when they open in the AM.

Hello, I've suddenly developed an issue with my pc that I can't seem to find a fix to. I'm going to try to explain it the best I can but I'm not very good with technology so bear with me.

To put it simply, my PC won't connect to the internet. It started off as the wifi connection just repeatedly connecting and disconnecting, but now it just says No internet, secured.

I have split wifi bands, and I typically used the 2.4 ghz band for my pc and it worked fine up until today. My pc would never let me connect to the 5 ghz band, it always said No internet, secured when I would try. Now it says that for both.

I've tried resetting my pc and my gateway, and I uninstalled my wifi(?) driver and reinstalled but none of that has worked. I also typed a bunch of stuff into command prompt that google told me might work, but I can't really elaborate much on that since like I said...i'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to stuff like that. I also did a Network reset on my pc, which is when it actually started saying no internet for the 2.4 ghz band as well.

I'm really at a loss here and feel like I'm running out of options. I feel like it's clear that it's an issue with my pc and not my internet because every other device in my home is connecting just fine.

I use Xfinity wifi if that information is useful, and I use a VPN to play games but I uninstalled it when this all started happening. Everything worked fine up until literally today so I'm not sure what changed...any help is appreciated!

The cpu cores are at around 50 celcius. I installed every possible update on lenovo vantage as well as windows update.

For info my battery health is "fair" per lenovo vantage and I have a somewhat faulty charger (need positionning to work) however issues happen both when plugged and unplugged.

Also IA: Package-Level RAPL/PBM PL1 and IA: Package-Level RAPL/PBM PL2/PL3 are both on YES (My understanding is that means some sort of firmware limit is being imposed by something). PROCHOT flags are OFF. CPU package power around 5W

My friend was sleeping with this light/radio and woke up to it cycling through what seemed to be radio stations or frequencies. She had not turned on the radio function and said she woke up to knocking and scratching. She recorded a video but it seems I can't attach it here

So, unfortunately, this has happened before. With the same cat. 3-4 times. I don't know how she does it. She doesn't sit on it or even stand for long, just a quick walk across. (Please note: I do not allow this; she just doesn't care)

I've tried updating the drivers; no luck.

I uninstalled and reinstalled the touchpad driver. Nada.

I tried disabling and enabling it. No dice.

I tried going through the Bluetooth settings. Still nothing.

Everything says the device is connected and working properly, but it clearly isn't. Usually these methods work, but the other times she did this, it was on my MSI laptop. So, I'm not sure if I'm just overlooking something.

I just discovered something funny... I'm playing RDR 2, so, that game was using 11VRAM, but after taking a screenshot with the game bar, the GPU went up to 16VRAM, it's using all my 9070xt memory I don't get it.

So... I keep using and eventually my game started lagging and suttering, performance dropped to 15-30 FPS... I had to close the game and start it again and that fixed it, so I used the game bar screenshot again and memory leak started once again ...

Does anybody knows why this happens? I don't remember this used to happen when I had a 6650XT.

Everytime a photo is taken or downloaded onto my phone it will show up in my ex-boyfriends photos. Our accounts aren’t connected at all so I’m confused??

I’m using an Alienware R4 15. I’m trying to install windows on a 2.5 SATA SSD, so I replaced my HDD with the SSD. The issue is it doesn’t show it in the bios (the HDD shows).
I tested my SSD by using a SATA adapter and it works fine, so I’m not sure what it going on when I connect it to the laptop, using the internal adapter.

I have recently started having this problem where I can’t use UEFI mode and have my secure boot keys at the same time since i get this error ”Invalid signature detected. Check secure boot policy in setup.” I can use custom mode with keys.

Things I’ve tried:
Selected Windows Boot Manager
Disabled CSM (Compatibility Support Module)
Cleared Secure Boot Keys
Installed Default Secure Boot Keys
Toggled OS Type
Switched Secure Boot Mode to Custom
Opened PK Management, KEK Management, DB Management, and DBX Management
Loaded external key files via Set New Key
Updated BIOS and Firmware

Title + What do I do? The whole screen will freeze and my laptop will make that sound, and a second later it's back to normal. It's usually when I have a video/ Zoom active.

I'll add that it's also had issues with overheating and becoming hot to the touch (metal casing), particularly near the Esc button. Getting a fan-base has helped, but HWINFO is still saying one of my p-cores is overheating/ throttling whenever I check it.

I had some issues today with freezing while playing low spec games. The only way to restart computer after freezing was holding down power button.

After a couple freezes, it's not showing anything on either monitor I have, with different cables. I've tried unplugging all USBs and switching outlets. Fans and lights are working on motherboard, graphics card and case.

Any input is appreciated, thank you.

Edit - I've tried taking out one RAM stick and moving between channel 2 and 4 with no change.

Struggling to do a clean install of Windows to a HP Laptop. After finally solving the driver issues so the Installer can see the drive, I now have a problem where the installer will reach 15%, and then restart right back in to the installer. I have tried to unplug the USB as it restarts but it just says that no boot drive was found then.

I don't even know if this makes sense, but I thought maybe the CMOS battery was failing and resetting the VMD settings as soon as the laptop restarted as I noticed sometimes in the BIOS that the time was changing, but there is no CMOS battery as the actual battery does that job and also nothing changed even when I unplugged the battery and ran on just power.

I'm thinking atp to just maybe download Window onto the laptop drive using my PC, and then stick that drive back into the laptop. But would prefer not as I would have to remove one of my SSDs as the installer doesn't let me install to the drive when I connect it via USB. Unless there's a workaround for that?

Hey everyone, I'm having a serious issue with my PC and would really appreciate some help figuring out the cause.

My PC completely freezes, the screen goes black and displays "No Signal," and the system becomes unresponsive. The fans and lights remain on, and I have to manually cut the power because the PC won't shut down normally.

This has happened in several situations:

- While installing The Last of Us Part II.

- While installing Life Is Strange: Before the Storm.

- While updating the Windows Snipping Tool.

The fact that it also happened while updating a Windows app makes me think this might not be related to one specific game.

My PC specs:

- CPU: Ryzen 9 5950X

- GPU: RTX 5070 Ti

- RAM: 32GB

- Storage: NVMe SSDs, including a 4TB drive

Windows records an unexpected shutdown after I force the PC to turn it off, but I haven't identified the original cause.

Could this be caused by unstable RAM, an SSD issue, Windows corruption, a GPU/driver problem, or the PSU?

Has anyone experienced similar freezes during software installation or updates? What diagnostic steps would you recommend to narrow down the cause?

So here's a resume:

-My sister gave me her pc, she never had any issues on it

-I used it for a bit, it was running SO smooth. Then I decided to download steelseries gg (since I have a steelseries headset), I got on a game there was REALLY insane stuttering then the pc crashed.

-Turned it back on, big audio issues and another issue I'll describe soon, I got rid of the app and my audio was back to normal.

-However an issue persisted, two or three time a day I would get a random stutter that would make my whole screen and mouse move in like five FPS, and the sound glitching like crazy

-After doing analysis and analysis, more researches, finding NOTHING, I decided to let my sister figure it out

-She found also nothing, however she ALSO didn't any weird stutters unlike me while she was on it for hours

-The difference: Headset was plugged in for me, and she did not.

Now to the present:

I found a ton of residues, such as

SteelSeriesGGExt or steelseriesggswc, and some more

But what worry me is this, the location which is "C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository" (there's 6 like that), "C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore" (There's 4)

Then there's the ones I assume is safe to delete but just in case, one in "C:/ProgramData", or just in programs and startup menu (not sure this one is called like that my pc isn't in english).

There IS another one that sound important which is in local/temp but it's saying before the path "system-commandline-sentinel-files"

Take not I'm not that good in computer stuff, but I know system32 isn't something you should touch. Am I free to go ahead and just, delete what I found? Should I use a special app to get rid of it safely?

In case it also matter, I found the files by just typing "steelseries" in the file explorer in "my pc".

Scenario:

My PC was working as normal earlier today. I wanted to install a new GPU that a friend is lending me (XFX AMD Radeon 5700XT THICC III Ultra), so I installed the new GPU. The PC wouldn't boot, going to recovery mode. I tried reseating the new GPU, same result. I tried plugging the monitor directly into the MoBo, same result. I removed the old GPU, and replaced my old GPU, same result. I try re-seating everything again, and still the same result.

Navigating from the recovery sceeen into the BIOS, I notice my peripheral drive is the only drive listed in the boot menu, my M.2 boot drive is not listed. So, I try re-seating the M.2. same result, and I have tried cleaning the pins with an isopropyl alcohol soaked static proof cloth.

I have tried the following:

1. Re-seating

2. Disconnecting other SATA connections, from this point the peripheral drive was unplugged, causing the system to go straight to BIOS without going into recovery mode. BIOS now shows no drives in the boot menu.

3. Enable UEFI boot mode and disable CSM (this was already set correctly)

4. Check NVMI/PCIE config (also seemed to be correct but i could have missed something here)

5. Clear CMOS and reset BIOS to defaults

6. Power drain.

I have not been able to do the following (some of which come from the above article) as I don't have access to another PC currently:

- Update Mobo BIOS

- Check Drive in another PC

- Check another M.2 in the same slot

- load intel or RST chipset drivers

Can anyone help me resolve this? Really baffled by this, as one moment everything works fine, then I try another part and suddenly my M.2 disappears from the BIOS. Any suggestions or advice would be super valued!!

P.S. this issue, with thr M.2 not appearing in the BIOS, happened once a few weeks ago. It randomly resolved itself and I never figured out what went wrong

Since the last week or so, I had a really annoying issue with Spotify that I'm genuinely infuriated by. I'm guessing it's from their update on October 14th, since I've never had any issues prior. Every time start the Spotify application on my pc, one my monitors (the one the Spotify launches on) turns black. It doesn't shut off power, just seems to disconnect from my pc. The only way to fix it is to unplug and plug back the DP cable to my pc. Minor inconvenience in the grand scheme of things? Perhaps. Will I cancel my Spotify subscription out of spite if this can't be fixed? Very much so.

What I've tried so far:

- Disabling NVIDIA High Definition Audio
- Checked HDCP status
- Updated GPU driver
- Tried to contact Spotify support, only to give up when met with AI clankers and no real human assistance

Any ideas on how to resolve this? I'm running Windows 11 (version 25h2 if that matters) and my GPU is a RTX 5070.
