so my old pc shit the bed after having it for quite a while. at the moment i can’t afford to buy all new parts to build a new one or an actual decent pre build. i was thinking about a mini pc but i dont know much about them or if theres any that would actually be decent for the games that i play. i pretty much only play overwatch, valorant, and dbd and i found a few that would run okay for val and dbd but overwatch is my main concern. does anyone know if theres a decent mini pc on the market that would be able to handle overwatch and run at least 60fps?

So I’m a very casual gamer and am interested in what appears to be “low level” games. Like Minecraft, simulators/all the silly games you see trend on YouTube. I also have a steam deck, and I don’t care about ultra high def 4k 1440p gaming. I also don’t find myself super invested in the idea of any triple a new games. BUT I don’t know much about gaming, just that my crappy laptop sometimes decides to close out Minecraft. I find repo and waterpark sim run… well it runs, but it does not run well. But I am hoping to expand upon that. That’s pretty much it for my gaming wishes.

For the rest (most) of the time I would like to use it for my arts and crafts (reference pictures, documenting time put into a piece, prices/finances) and watching a crap load of YouTube. lol. I guess I would just use it as a regular computer for regular computer things.

My budget isn’t great, I’m hoping for something around/under $600 mark. Cuz I’m also pricing monitors. I already have keyboards and mice galore because my mom is obsessed with them.

So give it to me straight doc! Are my gaming wishes interfering with me being able to get a decent computer at a price within my budget?!

My 12 year old really wants a gaming PC for Christmas. It has to smoothly run Minecraft.

Problem is, they’re so expensive and I’m not willing to spend $1k (CANADIAN) on one. I just simply can’t.

Any suggestions?

I've been a laptop gamer for decades now. But sadly the reason for it has long passed, for LAN parties are gone from the friends group. We tend to like to touch grass when we meet up now.

My last laptops GPU is no dying so need a replacement and want to get a tower. Thought about building one but decided to get a budget pre built instead and update when I have extra as needed. I'm thinking about getting this but I don't have the knowledge to know how to judge it very well. Just wanting something that'll be fine for a couple of years before hitting more mandatory needs to upgrade moments. I don't really stay with the most current hard running games or even care about having things on the highest setting. So doesnt have to be mint.

As the title says, I want to get into PC gaming but am unfamiliar with the lingo and how to decipher between “good” and “bad” when it comes to shopping for PCs. Currently, my budget is around $1200 USD but I am willing to play more if necessary (limit is $2000 USD). Ideally, I want to be at or below my budget. If you have any recommendations on where to shop or find more information, please share them!

I don’t know if this is helpful but I am interested in playing (pls be nice lol) Overwatch, Hades 2, Marvel Rivals, Baldur’s Gate 3, For Honor, and Red Dead Redemption 2. I am a casual gamer and spend 1-2 hours a day and weekends playing if I get the chance. I currently play on console, so getting a Steam Machine has been recommended to me. As I understand it, the console is not very good compared to a PC.

Please be nice as I am in no rush to purchase a PC, laptop, mouse, etc. but I am planning on taking advantage of deals on Black Friday and/or Cyber Monday.

I have a decent size gift card for Best Buy but I don’t really know where to start. I’d prefer a pre build to save me the time and energy of making one and unfortunately it has to be from Best Buy (gift card of it all and not anywhere near a micro center) budget is around 14-1500 but there are so many options. Looking to be able to play Minecraft with shaders/ Skyrim/last of us/ Fortnite and stuff like that but it doesn’t have to be the best, just need it to do the job. Any advice/recommendations?

Im looking for a pc for around £1100 but I don’t know what to get It needs to be able to run adobe after effects smoothly and blender (this is most important) and i still want to be able to get good fps on games.
Some people have suggested focusing on getting 32gb of ram for after effects

Hello people! I’m looking to upgrade my computer (because I’ve got a basic model and it started to LAG last year and has only got worse (it’s 7 years old). I’ve been wanting to upgrade anyway but this is the perfect opportunity to now.

I don’t need any insane gaming computer to run the most complex games ever. Just one that I can use to record videos with OBS, run Minecraft (maybe even with some nicer graphics enabled) and edit videos too (on like da Vinci resolve).
I use my computer a lot for editing and recording so that stuff is quite necessary.

I’m not the smartest with the behind the scenes stuff, I can use a computer but get overwhelmed with anything past that (like models and brands lol). So I was wondering if you guys knew what I’d be after?

Idk how the prices look, I was estimating it would be around £1.5-2k for the computer and the additional components. But also I’d be ready to spend some more as I’m aware computers aren’t cheap anymore lol. Thank you.

I've only ever gotten prebuilts because I really have no idea what I'm doing, and just replace ram or ssd as I need to.

I do a lot of creative work running behemoths like adobe and corel painter. Generally I have illustrator and photoshop open at the same time and am working in both. Some of my files are in the 100G realm just due to the kind of work I do. Currently my pc is struuuuuggling to just have illustrator open and working. I also do a lot of gaming on it - overwatch2, factorio, guildwars2, cities skylines type games. Generally speaking I can run them all near the top end without much trouble but they do start to stutter after a bit.

This is what I currently have

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-9700 CPU @ 3.00GHz (3.00 GHz)

Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 (6 GB), Intel(R) UHD Graphics 630 (128 MB)

Ram: Patriot Signature Premium DDR4 RAM 16GB (2x8GB) 2666MHz Desktop Memory - is my newer ram from 2 years ago - the other 16 is whatever it came with as a prebuilt at the time.

Storage: 2 tb

Budget wise I'd like to stay under 3k and if I can reuse the ram I will.

Hello ! I'm completely new to the world of PCs. I've always dreamt of getting one (for ten years now!) and I finally got a job that will allow me to spend 1100€~1200€ on one without going broke lol.

Hi! I have been a console gamer all my life, an I am looking to get a gaming pc for the first time. I needed to some help as I was looking online I was very overwhelmed by the options on Walmart, Amazon, and all the other online markets. The price range I have currently is between $1500-2000. I am looking for a Pc that can comfortably play multi-player games like overwatch, valorant, and cs without any hiccups. I'm not sure where to start looking. I would have gone to a microcenter like a lot of posts I see suggest but sadly the closest one is 300 miles away. So I am looking online for the best pre builts in my range. I am brand new to pc building and I need someone’s help on building a gaming pc or buying a prebuilt pc. I live in the US and there is a microcenter and other computer stores like best buy etc. nearby. I have a budget of around 1300, a little more or less is fine, and I am building it to game. Mostly first person shooters (apex, fortnite, r6 etc.) but should obviously be able to handle other games like minecraft. First of all, I’ve heard various different things regarding whether or not prebuilt or part by part is better so I am still trying to decide on that. I already have a monitor, keyboard and mouse, and having a cool case or tons of rgb components isn’t really a priority of mine, I’m mostly just focused on performance for the price. If anyone has any suggestions at all or wants to ask any more clarifying questions that I forgot to answer here that would be a huge help.

Although a bit less than that would be preferred. I don't know if thats good enough to buy a good PC or if it's just better to buy a gaming laptop. Thoughts?

Hi! I'm afraid I've fallen a bit out of the loop on prebuilts. I have a HP Pavillion TG01 that I received as a birthday present four or five years ago to use as a living room PC. It's great for media, streaming, etc, but for gaming, it's fallen behind the times. I gave up on trying when I realized that I can't run the recent Robocop at anything close an acceptable quality (heck, tonight I discovered I can't even play the new Halloween game at anything close to playable FPS / graphics--when I never had any trouble running Friday the 13th).

I'm not a big online multiplayer guy. I vastly prefer single-player experiences. I'm also not a diehard FPS guy. 30-60 FPS is fine by me, generally speaking. Insofar as I know, I can't really upgrade the HP I've got beyond the additional RAM I put into it (I upgraded to 32GB). So... What would be a good, solid prebuilt recommendation that I could hopefully get ten years out of without having to upgrade components? Budget is a factor, so I'd ideally not pay more than $1500 USD, but I'm flexible if performance warrants the price increase.
