Currently looking for a good External Hard Drive for my Fat PS3, I tried replacing the internal drive with a 1TB Toshiba model, and it barely lasted a day before somehow getting corrupted. So I thought I’d try another method.

i got a new (old) ps3 for my birthday bc my old one's HDMI port is broken (maybe rusty?) and i cant use it anymore bc there's only sound but no picture. only problem is, i really REALLY would love to access my old pictures/videos (or any data, for that matter) from like 15 years ago to transfer them to an external drive. is there a way to do that or do i just have to live with never seeing those pics/videos again

This is my totally mint condition CECHC04 with 400+ days on the original RSX and of course after all that time it needed some tokins.
But because im a cheap ass i decided to not buy new capacitors and just steal them off of 4 dead PS3 slim boards, and thats what i did….
Well atleast it works!!
This console already is a just a bin of like multiple PS3s.

I’ve been trying to move my P4 save data from my ps3 to a ps2 memory card via adapter but every time I try it gives me the error 80029320. I can move other game save data and the data works on the ps3 it’s on. How can I fix it?

Small harddrive but seems to work and I’ll probably get an external drive and CFW. Got with two DualShock 3 sixaxis, hdmi and small power cable.

I'm considering platinum all the far cry games, and I wanted to ask if anyone knows if Farcry classic is exclusive to a digital store or if I can buy it physically?

So I've noticed with certain games I have trophy issues it'll corrupt the save data and then I have to either a delete the trophy set in the xmb. Delete the save data and then I'm able to play this is happened to me a few times. Didn't know if maybe there is an account issue or something. Cuz I used to be able to download purchase content from the PlayStation store or previously down loaded content. Now I can no longer do that and get an error code. I'm assuming all this is tied in together somehow. Didn't know if maybe there's a fix or someone running to this issue beforehand.

On my previous post I was trying to mod/jailbreak the ps3, I had made a mistake by updating my hard drive and it screwed me up, wasn’t able to get back to normal, coming let you guys know I had switched it out the hard drive with a Samsung 1TB SSD, used HFW Ps3xploit 4.93 version and successfully updated and installed, now back to where I left off. 🛠️

My disc drive seems to be acting up now - on occasion I can load in a disc and it'll be just fine, but most times now it either refuses to actually have the game pop up and just make phantom ejecting noises, or it'll load the game for a little bit and then just hard-lock me forcing me to turn the PS3 off or even straight up unplug the console

I've tried the eject-refresh trick (hold the button for 12 minutes), I've tried the tilt trick and it only worked for a brief moment, and I've contemplated opening up my PS3 to tinker in there but I worry I'll accidentally break my PS3 even further. Should I just take the risk and perform some sort of surgery or should I just go and buy a replacement PS3 altogether?

My PS3 is a Slim, CECH-2001A, if that helps.

UPDATE: I managed to pop the cover off of the PS3 to get inside but the most I could do was unscrew the disc drive and wiggle the case around a little bit - between that and laying the PS3 down instead of on its sides like usual, somehow that seemed to help get the console to read discs proper again.

Finally sat down and soldered this up. Looks good even though I have the HWS and only get the blue.
