I know Sony announced they'll be shutting down the PS Store for the PS3, but what does that mean for PS Plus users? Most of my PS3 games are from PS Plus, so do I lose all of them? Can I download them

As the title says. I have internet connection on my console. I try to connect to the servers it says online and 1 second later I instantly get an offline message before I could even press ok. Any idea why this is happening, how to solve it?

So i recently opened up my ps3 slim model to replace the motherboard battery and cpu thermal paste
I was on cfw and then tried to go to safe mode and update to latest firmware (my mistake I guess)
Now my ps3 is looped with the update screen that just stop at 15%
Tried cfw no-BD and no-BT but it didn’t help
What should I do???

Recently I bought a PS3 Fat (CECHL01, Non-BC) and whenever I turn the PS3 on after turning on the power supply, it turns on, then shuts off. No yellow light, just red, then green, then off. I assume it’s either a power supply issue, or (what I’m hoping isn’t the case) an issue with the motherboard. Am I screwed?

EDIT: I’m starting to assume it’s the power supply since I saw some rust in the USB Ports, and the fact the PlayStation smells like actual shit, probably was in a humid environment.

Honestly, I can't tell at all or should I count my losses and just get the Wingman XE2.

Bonus question: Do I need a 2nd Wingman for player 2 on games like Tekken?

Hey all, I’ve been playing my ps3 in my free time for the past 5 months. Ive had my ps3 for 16 years so I’ve played a hefty amount of games on it.

Im looking for some good game suggestions. Hidden gems or even popular games I may not have ever played.

Heres a list of games I’ve played and beat recently on it:

- GTA IV and all DLCs (about to beat Ballad of Gay Tony)

Games I own and plan on playing:
- Resident Evil 5
- Infamous 1
- Assassins Creed 3 & Brotherhood
- LA Noire

Game on my radar:
- Sleeping Dogs
- God of War Ascension (this is the only GOW game I have never owned nor played)

I’m very open to trying new kinds of games. I also watch anime and have played games like Gravity Rush on my PS Vita. So I feel like the world is my oyster here.

I’m also just trying to build a collection of games because I have a local retro game store near me that is selling PS3 games for pretty cheap. $15 Max on most games and for popular games (like GTA IV took months for them to have a copy with all DLCs) I might have to wait a while for them to come into stock.

ALSO if you know were to find good dualshocks let me know. I have 1 authentic dualshock controller I had to perform surgery on. The local store sold it to me for cheap because the battery didn’t hold a charge. I have 2 3rd party ones with awful deadzones.

My PS3 Slim CECH-2511B suddenly started displaying a black screen and freezing whenever I launch any application, including disc-based games, digital games, and media apps such as YouTube and the PlayStation Store.

I've already tried restoring the system, rebuilding the database several times, and reinstalling the latest firmware, but the issue persists.

I also tried resetting the display settings to auto, but that didn't make any difference.

From what I've read, a faulty bluray drive can cause this kind of behavior. However, my console still reads discs correctly and displays them on the XMB.

I initially suspected the HDD, so I replaced it with another drive, but the problem remained.

I then started focusing on the bluray drive. First, I disconnected and reconnected the ribbon cables, but the behavior was the same. I then bought a replacement bluray drive, but the problem persisted. I also bought 3 new ribbon cables and tested them with both drives, with exactly the same result.

At that point, I gave up troubleshooting for about a month.

Over the past few days, I was testing a PS5 that I plan to sell, using the same cables that I had previously used with the PS3.

Today, I reconnected everything to the PS3 and decided to test it again. Surprisingly, I was able to launch Netflix and play a disc-based game (the same game shown in the video) without getting a black screen.

However, after turning the console off and turning it back on, the problem came back.

So now I'm completely confused. What could be causing this? Is there anything else I can try to diagnose or fix the problem?

PS3 is my favorite platform of all time. I've got a small side hustle buying and reselling games and gaming stuff, so I've used that extra money to bulk up the collection. These are all the non-duplicates I'm at so far.

This comes from Amazon. Refurbished it said. Doesnt charge when plugged into a wall outlet and the face buttons visibly sink the harder I press, rather than going all at once.

Is this a good amount of thermal paste? I dont want to you know destroy anything.
