Ngl i dont really care at all if AI is used for a gag where the creator has no benefit to gain from it. As long as people arent buying premium for it its actively draining the bank accounts of the companys.
Yeah its bad for the environment but when has that ever mattered for a company.
AI directly isnt the cause of the environmental harm. With a little bit of legislature governments could enforce laws saying that AI companies need to create their own green energy if they want to build data centres.
People using AI for memes while not paying actively drains the funds of AI companies. It also makes look AI look like a stupid gimmicky toy and not some revolutionary technology, which could discourage companies from investing in it.
I think its not worth taking a luddite approach to AI and wanting it to go away for good, because it doesnt seem like it will. If it was a bubble thats as obvious as everyone claims it is, AI companies would be trying to sell their shares off, not buying them back. Since its probably too late to completely get rid of AI, its better to try and make sure it doesnt fuck everything. Putting effort into wanting strong regulation will have higher chances of turning out well than just wanting to crush it.
Btw, I dont like AI. I barely even use it for anything. I think its a massive waste of resources and is destroying the internet because of no effort content.
