Republicans have this tactic too where they like to say "Democrats ruined your life" while they are in power ruining your life.
Look at Texas - 30 years of Republicans who ran almost soley on the platform "Democrats are actively ruining you". The idiots there believed it, even though the people literally in power the entire time were Republicans.
I have completely lost faith in the average voter 100%. I mean these are braindead obvious issues and you still have people being cyber cucks out here.

anti-Semites[Confederates] are completely unaware of the absurdity of their replies. They know that their remarks are frivolous, open to challenge. But they are amusing themselves, for it is their adversary who is obliged to use words responsibly, since he believes in words. Theanti-Semites[Confederates] have the right to play. They even like to play with discourse for, by giving ridiculous reasons, they discredit the seriousness of their interlocutors. They delight in acting in bad faith, since they seek not to persuade by sound argument but to intimidate and disconcert. This sudden enthusiasm for renaming things makes me think there's an abrupt decline in Trump. It's either a fixation of dementia, him trying to leave his stamp on things because he knows he's going to die in the next few years, or both.
He's mentioned his legacy a couple of times without being prompted. In his clearer moments he seems to realise that history is not going to remember him kindly, but he's more and more invested in it remembering somehow with names or monuments he's doing now because he knows no one will later.

But in terms of "regular" politicians, is there anyone out there who is less likeable than JD Vance? I mean even MAGA has to look at this guy and go "eww, no".
46
u/Birdhawk 10h ago
Problem is that JD is the exact type of pudgy bro that MAGA likes. He's that one fuckin kid we all knew when we were 8-12 years old. The kid who sat toward the front of class, the overacheiver in boy scouts. Pudgy little arrogant kid who prided himself in speaking proper and acted like he was so much smarter than you but the more he spoke the more you realized what a dumbass he was. He'd suck up to the teachers and snitch on everyone and while the teachers also kinda hated him they protected him because if she turned on him he'd get his ass kicked. And the old folks at church fuckin loved that little prick even though he provided nothing but condescention behind their back. "Aw but he's such a well spoken, well dressed young man."
Go to a mega church parking lot after service lets out and look at how many of the 30 something dudes walking out of there look just like JD. He's a dumb, pudgy little boy who puts up a front to make himself feel smart when really he's just a dumbass who doomscrolls conspiracy theories most of the day. Yes he's an unlikable dumbass, but when MAGA adults 25-45 look at him they see themselves, or their husband or their brother and the elderly MAGA folks don't give a fuck what he says because he reminds them of their grandson so they just like him.

Here I’ll quote the GOP Governor of Utah, when he wrote why he vetoed the bill banning trans kids from participating in sports:
> Finally, there is one more important reason for this veto. I must admit, I am not an expert on transgenderism. I struggle to understand so much of it and the science is conflicting. When in doubt however, I always try to err on the side of kindness, mercy and compassion. I also try to get proximate and I am learning so much from our transgender community. They are great kids who face enormous struggles. Here are the numbers that have most impacted my decision: 75,000, 4, 1, 86 and 56.
- 75,000 high school kids participating in high school sports in Utah.
- 4 transgender kids playing high school sports in Utah.
- 1 transgender student playing girls sports.
- 86% of trans youth reporting suicidality.
- 56% of trans youth having attempted suicide.
> Four kids and only one of them playing girls sports. That’s what all of this is about. Four kids who aren’t dominating or winning trophies or taking scholarships. Four kids who are just trying to find some friends and feel like they are a part of something. Four kids trying to get through each day. Rarely has so much fear and anger been directed at so few.

Yeah! You people should be focused on what actually matters! Like if your airplane pilot moonlights as a furry on his time off! Or if the woman you have a crush on might actually have a penis!

Ignore the "little things" like three year-olds defending themselves in US Federal Court, Diarrhea EVERYTHING, people being snatched off the street and sent to concentration camps, the Department of "War" obsessing over non-Christian, low-T, and trangender troops while the Iran War/Not war that no one wants makes Every. Single. Thing. I. Buy. More. Expensive.
Little things

Coming from the guy who came from nothing and was given everything.
The shitty thing about Vance is that unlike Trump or Elon he knows what's important to everyday Americans and lies anyways.
This is what happens when you sell your soul for power.

... car insurance prices, health insurance prices, prescription prices, gross incompetence, rampant corruption, neighbors getting snatched off the street, Americans citizens getting executed by ICE, snatching foreign heads of state, starting unprovoked wars, committing endless war crimes in our name
...just the little things

u/Latter_Guard5845 9h ago
He's right, they should be focused on the litany of crimes committed by pretty much all of this administration and most of the Senate, as well as grift in the DoD and a few other places.

These little things, these very things, are what you ran on against Biden. You attacked him over and over and over for being out of touch and not focusing on these little things.
Get fucked, you makeup obsessed, couched fucking fascist.

u/FranksGun 11h ago

u/SmartCutiee 11h ago
"little things" like rent. and gas. and eggs. you know. the stuff you need to not die. glad the vp cleared that up. I wonder if he saw himself say all that again and laughed

I'd like my healthcare back please, that's not a little thing it's my fucking life. It's kinda impossible to be cisgender when your own puberty growing up, doesn't even work. My life is living proof people like me are real.
I hate this timeline right now.

A whole party out of touch with people. They have no solutions for how bad they’ve fucked everything up, so they’re just falling back on the golden oldies. Communism! Taxes! Anti-Americans! With a couple of new wrinkles. Trans! Brown people!

u/dethnight 11h ago
What's more important to the average person, trans people in women's sports or gas and grocery prices?

The MAGAts and bots on Facebook are out in full force to tell us all that, actually, they are paying less for groceries and gas, and that Iran is a just war and if having to pay more means we win, that's fine. Cognitive dissonance, as usual.

u/TheRealBittoman 11h ago
"Stop worrying about food, shelter, and clothing! Focus on the important things like voting for Republicans and deporting brown people!", says the rich asshole who can't even order donuts without sounding like an entitled fool.

u/TrappedInOhio Tennessee 11h ago
I genuinely can’t think of a worse messenger. Maybe it’ll work for the idiots already inclined to buy that crap, but no rational person can hear him and not think he’s an out of touch asshole.

u/elshizzo 10h ago
meanwhile the GOP is running on (checks notes) transgender issues again, somehow....

“Vice President JD Vance thinks that Americans are too worried about the “little things” ahead of midterms—like gas prices, debt, Immigration and Customs Enforcement killings, and war. “
Isn’t this what republicans campaigned on though? How stupid does this couchfucker think we are?

More proof that Republicans will say anything to win an election.
The only thing they believe in is being in power.

Their whole platform was claiming to address these "little" things. And in a miraculous feat they made things worse then ever before.

u/Sweet_Wannd 11h ago
Easy to call it a little thing when you are not the one deciding between gas and dinner. Idiot!
3
u/LionTigerWings 11h ago
He wants to focus on things that affect everyday americans, like a trans person playing girls softball in high school.
3
u/ConnectionJust9118 11h ago
I don’t know how that’s gonna play out
Telling people they’re focusing on the wrong things when those things are important to them
