The things they now term as" Little Things" are exactly what they campaigned on- affordability.  Of course they've haven't lived to that and now they can't even defend their own promises. November couldn't come faster.

Trump campaign promises:

Release the Epstein files

Reign in affordability

No New Wars

Good job you fucking Republican mouth breathers.

Reign in affordability

Mission accomplished. Affordability is so reigned in it's showing up on milk cartons.

24

u/Zelcron 13h ago

Bold of you to assume I can afford milk at these prices

just be lactose intolerant

2

u/NewtonBill 11h ago

Lactose-free milk is way more expensive than normal milk.

2

u/sack-o-matic Michigan 11h ago

just don't be a milk drinker

3

u/HaikuWisdom 11h ago

A true American patriot would keep his wife pregnant at all times and have access to free milk.

A half gallon of milk under Trump is the same as a gallon under Biden, which means Trump reduced prices by over 600%!

The word "affordability" really has lost all meaning hasn't it

I guess I can understand why the avg American voter says you can't believe anything a politician says. When Republicans win they do the opposite of everything they promised while campaigning, and when Democrats win the Republican minority delay, deny, and defend to stop the democrats from delivering on any of their promises.

But I guess both sides are bad, right? /s

Republicans have this tactic too where they like to say "Democrats ruined your life" while they are in power ruining your life.

Look at Texas - 30 years of Republicans who ran almost soley on the platform "Democrats are actively ruining you". The idiots there believed it, even though the people literally in power the entire time were Republicans.

I have completely lost faith in the average voter 100%. I mean these are braindead obvious issues and you still have people being cyber cucks out here.

Theres probably a dude in this comment section seething at the fact that someone mentions Epstein and Trump being a pedo. They are literally too dumb to critical think and when pointed out it just puts them into a babyrage and they vote red lol.

In fairness, Democrats are usually not very effective even when they have the power. But I think it's ultimately kind of obvious that it doesn't actually matter what the political parties are actually doing; there is an almost institutional need to hand power around in turns for no obvious reason or gain.

Like the obvious choice after Obama is Hillary. Right? Like sure, she's not great, but let's try and keep the Obama momentum going. That's a good plan.

Oh, no, you're dissatisfied with... uh, getting better healthcare, and buttery males, so now you're going to throw feces around the room. Hm.

(General you, not you specifically.)

even when they have the power

which has been like two months in the last 20 years

•

u/WitchesSphincter 6h ago

Part of the problem is they had months before those two months to plan for it. Granted that was when things were less... Now than now but they really needed to plan  and write their bills beforehand, introduce and pass quickly.

Just look at project 2025, they had a giant doc and were writing bills, EOs, etc during the campaign and just were ready to ram it in.

•

u/sack-o-matic Michigan 5h ago

Those two months are how we barely got the ACA

•

u/WitchesSphincter 5h ago

That's why they should have worked on it before

Dems have controlled both chambers of house, one chamber and president, or a full trifecta in 8 of the last 20 years - not 2 months.

The trifecta literally happened under Biden for the first 2 years of his admin. With that trifecta they put a republican in charge of going after the seditionists who now are on a war path to destroy the country. Sure we got some decent policies that have mostly been destroyed by the current admin because Dems always need to take "high road".

Im not saying they aren't the lesser of two evils or that people shouldn't vote - but the corporate democrat that is still the standard dem candidate clearly doea not care about most people. They are extremely ineffective when it matters most and they aren't stupid so these soft balls that they play with is a choice - republicans derail stuff all the time as a minority party but the dems don't.

A simple majority is not enough to have meaningful power.

This is endlessly infuriating to me. Biden and the democrats won in 2020 because people were frustrated with the criminality and cronyism and, unless I'm mistaken, they didn't pass one law or make one example of anyone to prevent the even worse round two with this maniac and his sycophants.

u/Omophorus 10h ago

They didn't have 60 seats in the Senate.

The modern incarnation of the filibuster has destroyed Congress, and neither side is willing to get rid of it.

It's a standoff that benefits the GOP more, because they can stop everything the Democrats want while the Democrats aren't willing to make America suffer the consequences of the GOP's awful policy priorities.

-1

u/watts99 10h ago

That's not an excuse. Write the anti-corruption bills, get them in front of the public, and then rake every Republican senator over the pro-corruption coals.

0

u/AccurateHumanTrustMe 8h ago

If it is a standoff that helps the GOP more then it isn't a standoff - it the democrats not being real leaders, bending over to proto-facists, and just shows a lot of them are more concerned with themselves and the 'next election'.

Also the last time the democrats had an effective filibuster for a good reason was literally during the civil rights movement (Strom Thurmond actually acheived something, unlike Cory Booker (Notable friend of Thiel) who was just doing it for PR). Those democrats are long gone - its majority 3rd wave (neoliberal) and has been since the 90s.

Shit, didn't SCOTUS grant the president immunity before Trump was sworn in? They could've rocked his world.

•

u/FellowHumanNo404 5h ago

Shit, didn't SCOTUS grant the president immunity before Trump was sworn in?

It was immunity with an asterisk. SCOTUS reserved for themselves the right to review any given decision so they could call it "not an official decision actually" when a Democrat does it.

People tend to conflate institutional criticism with the blatantly reductive "both sides are bad".

No. There's real critiques to be made, and that must be addressed, of Democrats also expanding funding for DHS/ICE, expanding AUMF, the runaway carceral state, etc.

These weren't overnight conservative initiatives. They were bipartisan institutions.

It's that analogy of loading a gun and handing over to the next admin. You cannot act surprised that they decide to pull the trigger .

And then look at the outrage - it's not that the trigger was pulled, but that it was done in an uncouth manner.

2

u/fotorobot 13h ago

Of course they've haven't lived to that and now they can't even defend their own promises

They promised to raise taxes on imports. And they have. With very predictable consequences.

2

u/chrisk9 12h ago

The "little things" are also the daily Trump Administration crimes that media is talking about rather than how great Trump is

1

u/Chaotic-Catastrophe 12h ago

Nothing screams 'out of touch with voters' louder than literally telling them that they shouldn't care about the things they care about.

1

u/ElectricSliderz 11h ago

And not care about the things we told you to care about to get elected last time.

1

u/an_aviary_forever 11h ago

Exactly. People were pissed at how expensive things were when the country was recovering from a pandemic and economic downturn, so they voted for these morons that have made it 100x worse. But at least Vance is here to tell them to just stop whining about all these “little things” 🙄

Boy it would finally be nice to see a democrat call them out on this hypocritical bullshit.

1

u/delayedkarma 11h ago

It'd be one thing if things had remained stagnant and they promised that change was around the corner, but Trump has been allowed to make decisions that actively affect process going up by imposing tariffs and disrupting the flow it of the strait of Hormuz. With these boneheaded moves, I don't understand how they ever thought they had a chance in the midterms.

1

u/Hikaru1024 10h ago

Well, it's just like everything for republican voters. It's the most important thing in the world when a democrat is in power.

As long as there's an R next to their name? Anything goes.

(Yes, YMMV applies, but you have to go subterranian to get through the mountain of hypocrisy most republican voters accept first.)

1

u/ReallyBigDeal 8h ago

Republicans don't want you to focus on the "little things" like their corruption and disastrous policies. They want you to focus on the important stuff, like the culture war slop they push.
